Correction: Dental Surgery Delays Lil Wayne’s Sentencing
Convicted felon Lil Wayne turned himself in at Manhattan Criminal Court today. Dwayne Michael Carter, jr’s sentence of one year in prison for illegal gun possession, was delayed until March 2nd for previously scheduled dental surgery. This sounds like some kind of delaying tactic. I used to work in the prison system as a nurse and they contract with the best dentists in New York.
Moms, you have good reason to worry: your daughters won’t be safe until this troll is behind bars.

Lil Wayne got his sentence postponed today until March 2nd. Here’s what his Young Money mate Mack Maine just Tweeted: Extension till march 2nd!!!!!Thanx foro da prayers LOVE y’all… and Wayne said thanx for da prayers too…ym!!!!
Some reports say it was postponed because of dental surgery. *blank stare* Wayne now has approximately 20 days and counting to stack up more “going away” groupie love than ever.
So he’s the government’s beyotch? I guess he wanted to be with his friends, or he’s doing it for Young Money’s street cred? I just wanna know what they gonna do with them nasty dreds when they cut em out?
Is this the new trend for rapper. Who’s next. He probably didn’t cry now but he be crying when he get in there.

They got good oral surgeons in there, but he is going to do about 90 days or less. Wayne will be fine. We are getting a nasty snow storm here this evening, they are closing the schools already and suspended parking and the job is asking folks to do doubles. Nope will sign out as regular and try to get home by train the best way i can.
@Keely I feel ya. Although I am a big fan of you do the crime you do the time I hate that so many of our men are behind bars. Prison is big business, justice isnt always so just and innocent ppl are locked up as well.

@GG I believe I said I was a believer in if you do the crime you do the time so there is your statement. That still doesn’t mean I will rejoice when they go 2 prison even if they deserved 2. I wish we didn’t have crime and didn’t need prisons at all.
I was wondering what would happen to all those diamonds in his mouth while in jail. He was on the view one time and i think Sherri asked him if he could brush them. He looked like he a was about to say “Bish”, but he corrected his face real fast and saud yes he brushes.

Im sorry but I could really careless about this…the only thing that makes me go hmmmmmmm, is how the hell TIP only got a YEAR —the same amount of time as this man who was charged with ONE gun possession and marijuana, but Tip who got caught with like 30 guns in his possession….is already HALFWAY home and he was a convicted FELON??!!

I agree, Krysi J about the time that TI received compared to the likes of Lil Wayne and Plaxico Burgess, who both had no previous records prior to their convictions. Things that make ya go HMMM. I hope that Shanell is not pregnant by him because she looks almost as rough as he does, at least the other BM are cute.

Not trying to take up for TI…but he did do ALOT of community service. He was also on house arrest for a min. Lil Wayne ain’t done shiat except make music videos and choppin down chicks left and right. Plus…NYC ain’t no joke with their gun laws. This is the south…errrbody and their mamma got a gun.
With all that mess up in his mouth, I bet his breath smells like rotten sewage. Must be nice to have long paper behind your name. You have the priviledge of doing what everyday people can’t.

When Martha Stewart got sentenced for insider trading she could have appealed, she served her time, it was in her best intersest because her stock went through the roof while she was in jail, once she was free her stock fell. These rappers don’t have any stock and have more time to write songs while in jail. Didn’t T I try to prolong going to jail so he could attend one of his kids bday parties?

He has to go to every recital, party, skating trip, bowling/game night, dr’s appointment & tuck her in every night to make up for that name!! He’s already a year behind

The law in New York says if you are caught with a gun you get locked 3 years mandatory.
Wayne and Plaxico were arrested in New York. So NY laws apply to their cases.
So Wayne did get special treatment seeing that he only getting a year.
When he should be getting 3.
T.I wasnt caught in NY so the laws in NY dont apply to him.
Get to KNOW the law.

Sandra you know good and well that people don’t get good dental work in prison I don’t care what kind of dentist they have on contract. The dentist uses the cheapest materials available on inmates if they are lucky enough to get dental treatment at all.
Anywho, he could have gotten this done before he was scheduled to go in. At least now he’s doing what needs to be done. If I recall correctly he actually missed an appearance about a year ago because of dental problems. He’s been hiding it behind that grill instead of dealing with it. Now he can show his real teeth. Maybe he’s afraid of the dentist.

I beg to differ, Bird. MY dentist, the one who is doing my implants, Dr. Joe Lester, is the same dentist who is contracted by the state to do the dental work for inmates for over a decade. Click here to read about him. I met Dr. Lester while I was a nurse in the juvenile justice system. He is a member of this blog and he would be offended if he read what you wrote. The dentist’s office inside the jail looks exactly like what you’re accustomed to on the outside. What cheap materials? I used to order the most expensive drugs for the inmates because the state told me to spare no expense. It doesn’t take a specialist in Miami to fix a cracked tooth. This is just another delaying tactic and I’m surprised the judge fell for it.

Why is it that the two friends I know who have had the priviledge of having their teeth replaced in prison got FRONT TEETH that were too big for their mouths and discolored? They served in NJ prisons so maybe that’s why. IF New York really gives prisoners top notch dental care why is that? Should I commit a crime so that I can get my teeth fixed? I can’t afford it as a free person. Not even with insurance.
