Man Flies Plane Into IRS Building

Your income tax refund checks might be a little late this year.

An apparently irate taxpayer climbed into the cockpit of his small single engine plane and flew it right straight into the IRS building in Austin, Texas today.

In a scene reminiscent of 9/11, workers scrambled in terror as thick black smoke billowed from one side of the building and books, papers and desks flew out of shattered windows.

Officials say the pilot intentionally targeted the IRS building and set his own home on fire before taking off. No terrorism link is suspected.

Two IRS workers were rushed to the hospital and one person is still unaccounted for. The toll of injuries is expected to rise. So far there is only confirmed death — the pilot.

One witness said the plane did not look like it was out of control. Fire crews are looking for survivors inside the IRS building, which is located next door to the FBI offices.

WOW JUST READ THAT HE SAID ON HIS COMPANY WEBSITE -IT’S CRAZYIn one passage, Stack writes: “That little lesson in patriotism cost me $40,000+, 10 years of my life, and set my retirement plans back to 0. It made me realize for the first time that I live in a country with an ideology that is based on a total and complete lie. It also made me realize, not only how naive I had been, but also the incredible stupidity of the American public; that they buy, hook, line, and sinker, the crap about their ‘freedom’ … and that they continue to do so with eyes closed in the face of overwhelming evidence and all that keeps happening in front of them.”

He also wrote: “Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours?

Toward the end, he wrote, “I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.”

i just finished reading the letter and dude was not a crackpot…he was sane, rational and i agree with pretty much everything he said. hubby and i are paying over $15K to the IRS for an error on the part of the preparer but since we signed the return, we are responsible. we were audited a few years back and it’s been hell ever since.

i can’t lie…i’ve thought about doing something drastic to bring attention to this type of ish! while I’m strictly following my grocery list and counting my pennies at the register, Bonquisha is whizzing by with two carts of groceries and swiping her EBT card. I always wanna scream, “Those groceries are mine!” and snatch all that shi.t and load up my car, but i’d be put in jail for that. hubby and i were both unemployed and drained our savings, retirement, etc. and since we don’t have any dependents, we couldn’t even get food stamps, help with a light bill, gas bill – NADA. Bish at the Food Stamp office had the nerve to tell me that we were $15 over the monthly income limit for food stamps…and we were getting UNEMPLOYMENT!!!

i’m done…i’m not saying what he did was right but i understand his desperation, anger and sadness.

    NOW THAT SHIAT IS FUNNY!

WELFARE WASN’T DESIGNED TO BECOME A LIFESTYLE BUT AIDE & SUPPORT WHILE YOU ARE GETTING YOUR LIFE TOGETHER

I’M NOT ASHAMED TO SAY BACK IN THE DAY I RECEIVED ASSISTANCE-BUT WHILE RECEIVING IT I ALWAYS WORKED AND WENT TO SCHOOL AND I MANAGED TO GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE WITH A BACHELORS DEGREE

LIKE RTB SAID YOU BASICALLY HAVE TO HAVE NOTHING TO GET HELP-AND SOON AS YOU GO OVER BY A $1 THEY CUT YOUR AZZ OFF

FOR SOME IT’S LIFESTYLES OF THE FOOD STAMPS/MEDICAID AND FABULOUS

BUT NOT FOR ALL-TRUST AND BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO WORK JUST ENOUGH TO STAY UNDER THE GUIDELINES/THEY ONLY SUPPORT TWO-YEAR DEGREES OR ANY 2YR OR LESS TRAINING PROGRAM-SO YOU HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO CONTINUE YOUR EDUCATION ALL WHILE WORKING AND SURVIVING OFF THE HELP THEY GIVE YOU-

IT’S FAR FROM GLAMOROUS-IF YOU NEED IT-GET THE HELP TO GET AHEAD BUT IT SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A TEMPORARY FIX AND NOT PERMANENT-

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE HAVING GOOD CREDIT, OWNING A CAR & HOME, THAT YOU PAID FOR WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY-THAT’S CALLED SELF RESPECT AND NO GOVERNMENT AID CAN GIVE YOU THAT-ONLY YOU CAN!

and there it is…couldn’t have said it better. for those who have never experienced a financial hardship in their life, it’s easy to sit back and say ‘if you work hard and have good credit, everything will be ok’. well, we did just that – worked, saved, lived BELOW our means, contributed to charities and neither of us have kids out of wedlock or have ever received any type of public assistance. so it burns me up that when we needed just a little help, ALL the proverbial doors were slammed in our face. It’s like we’re being punished for doing the right thing and that ish will make you want to do something drastic! I file and February didn’t see no money until october. I was told I would have to payback all that money from the previous years or they would garnish my wages. They treated me like **** and I was the damn victim.

I say proper because the other 75% of the welfare baby-mommas rolled in with their 50/11 kids in toe buying up all the chips, frozen pizzas, kool-aid, and all the other un-healthy foods they could get their hands on…They would run up a $500 grocery bill (of course taken care of by the hard-working tax payers) and still have some to spare, all while they where talking on the phone trying to find a baby sitter so that they could hit up the club that night…Why does your arse need to be in the club on a Wednesday night???? Ok that’s all…it used to upset me so much!!!

you ain’t lying. they did my hairdresser dirty. those fools can ruin your life if you make one bad move.

from a government perspective, the system is SCREWED. it’s made such that those in the upper classes can finesse their way out of paying; those in the lower classes can get over; and our dumb *sses that are actually working hard every day are propping up the economy.
    —————————————————
and there it is…couldn’t have said it better. for those who have never experienced a financial hardship in their life, it’s easy to sit back and say ‘if you work hard and have good credit, everything will be ok’. well, we did just that – worked, saved, lived BELOW our means, contributed to charities and neither of us have kids out of wedlock or have ever received any type of public assistance. so it burns me up that when we needed just a little help, ALL the proverbial doors were slammed in our face. It’s like we’re being punished for doing the right thing and that ish will make you want to do something drastic! Not saying it’s right, but if you haven’t walked a mile in someone else’s shoes, don’t be so quick to say what they shouldn’t have done or think they’re a nutcase.
    ————————————————————
@speakyomind: Girl (or guy) you said a mouthful! I remember when I was younger my dad worked TWO jobs one at the post office and the other at FedEx. Well one year when my parents filed their taxes, my dad didn’t claim the FedEx money, not on purpose, but because they didn’t send him a W-2 and it slipped his mind. That happened in 1995, and to this day they still owe. And the cold part is the IRS waited 3 years to do an audit on them, so the interest to accumulate and they say you owe this amount of money. The IRS is a racket. Once you start owing, chances are you’re going to owe until you die. My parents hired a tax lawyer to settle and pay one lump sum over a period of time (i’m from Cali). All I could remember when I was kid was that my parents ALWAYS owed the IRS. For a time my parents were not happy because they couldn’t do things that they wanted because they never received a tax refund.

Anyway, when I was 17 I had a part-time job, and I was going to file my taxes and the preparer told me that I owed the State $300, and that I needed to file. I told her, “No i’m not filling because I never owed the IRS” (Mind you I’ve been working since I was 14). So be careful about the tax preparer as well…

I’m worried about next year because I moved from Cali (Bay Area) to Charlotte, NC to attend UNCC for graduate school (Go Niners!), and I don’t know anyone who does taxes. I might have to learn TurboTax, and do my return myself!

Finally, I so agree with the posters about Sallie Mae! I had a conversation with my best friend (who’s still in Cali) about the bull**** philosophy that people buy into in regards to education. The philosophy that once you graduate that you’ll have job offers overflowing is a bunch of BS. My best friend and I graduated together last June, and she’s still looking for a full-time job…

turbotax.com is a very good site to familarize yourself with filing your own taxes. The great thing about is that you can go through the motions in entering in all your information and answering the questions, it will tell you what your refund/amount owed will be and you are NOT obligated to file with them. Then if you want to go to another preparer, the information you got from Turbo Tax should match up. That way you can verify if you did it right or not. If you choose to file with Turbotax online, I believe its free for the simple form but if you e-file its like $14.95.

Don’t believe the hype SpongeBob! If you got any kinda money coming in, you are going to pay….in the Chi, it’s $75 minimum….I work and go to school, and they only pay $300 towards my rent….

It’s not worth it to quit a job or not better one’s self, just to pay $75 a month….that’s why they call it “assistance”….some of the newly rebuilt CHA(used to be “project”)apts that have been rebuilt here require folks to be working, or in school to be eligible to live in one.

Hey Cheeks, I think that all parents should have to take a nutriton class. I see ppl buy microwave processed full two carts full, do kids get any veggies or fruit that’s not in a Hot Pocket or a Apple Pie? Nothing but junk food, no juice, just fruit juice, no bottled water, just gallons of red or purple suguary stuff. Kids are fat, I have convinced myself that they rebuilt all our public schools because the kids were too fat to sit their azz’s in the bathroom stalls, you can go to some schools and you don’t know who is the Teacher and who is the student.

 Some section 8 housing are very nice, most ppl don’t know that they have them in “White Mans Land”. If ppl really had to pay full price for a section 8 home, it would be more than my mtg. I see ppl living in slum lord rented homes who pay more than I do “buying” a home. Some ppl really don’t know that they too can be a homeowner. I got tired of thowing my money out the window for something that would never be mine. There are ppl where I live in have brand news homes in bad neighborhoods, but they have to live in them for 15 yrs and then can purchase them for $40,000. If their rent for the first 15 yrs. is $300 times 15 yrs, thats $54,000 + after 15 yrs a buy price of an exta $40,000, doesn’t make sense to me. 15 yrs. is along time to wait to buy a house, by then most will be on their feet and won’t like the neighborhood and thew money out the window, waiting for a house to buy that they won’t even want. Ppl save for 20% down to purchase your own home and start building your own equity from day one instead of letting the Gov. profit.
