RIP: Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen Commits Suicide
World renowned fashion designer Alexander McQueen took his own life in his London flat today — one week after his mother passed away. McQueen was due to attend his mother’s funeral tomorrow. He was 40-years-old.
According to unidentified sources, McQueen hanged himself.
His office released this brief statement:
“It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.”

i mean i understand all the RIP in here, but everytime someone commits suicide i wonder if *coughs* GOD will grant them the peace that some of you seem to be clamoring for..i mean GOD told us not take our lives..my 2 cents

We never know what someone is thinking. He designed clothes for Rih and Lad Gaga.
He is responsible for fusing punkrock with couture. It sounds like he was really hurting. My heart goes out to his family.
One more indication, that money, fame and power don’t always take the blues away.

Sorry, I don’t automatically assume that he or anyone else follows the bible or religion for that matter just as some on this blog don’t. So, again I hope he found peace, with or without religion.
I hope he found peace also. Only God can judge him, Not I.

I’ve always said that there was no justification for suicide but when it comes to one’s mother, logic is out of the window! R.I.P. I can’t imagine but I’m sure the loss of a mother can take you there.

You never know what someone is going through and I cant imagine killing myself but I also cant imagine my life without my mother and if I didn’t have babies and a family who needs me I cant say I would not be led to do the same so I cant judge (for the person who brought up the suicide) She may have been all he had and though she would’ve wanted him to live it may have just been to much for him to say goodbye. Fame and money cant replace a mothers love, a strong support system or buy happiness. I pray for his family and that they both RIP

We have to face the reality that even though God is merciful and a forgiving God there is everlasting punishment for those who die in sin.
Not everybody is going to heaven.
I’m pretty sure that the family of Judas Iscariot mourned for him too, but that does not excuse the fact that he betrayed the Lord, and then committed suicide afterwards.

And how do we know he committed suicide because of his mother? There could have been another reason…
I can’t imagine the emotional state he must have been in to take his own life, I guess losing his mother was the last straw. He will definitely be missed.

damn..like maybe he was going through other stuff, too..I mean I still have my mom (knockin on wood), so i can’t imagine how it must feel..but maybe he was goin through some ish, and then his mother’s death just added fuel to the fire….how sad rip
Wow, this is really sad. One never knows what someone is going throw or battling. I just hate that he took his own life. He was a fab designer.
Mcqueen has always amazed me. Sure a lot of people may not have liked his clothes and most of it wasn’t made for your average person. But my love for his clothes came from the attention to the small details, the man really outdid most people in fashion. Usually people stick to the same formulas and just try and improve on it. He created his own thing in several ways. I am quite saddened at his passing for I have a couple Mcqueen memories of my own and I will tell you, whoever said he’s lived three lives, chile you ain’t lying!
