Updated with the full video. I love it! Monica does her thing with this Fatal Attraction/Obsession treatment. This video shows Monica’s depth as an artist. She tackles this complex part nicely. Next stop: the big screen. Go Mo!
As some of you know, I am still experiencing technical difficulties, so I will post sparingly this morning until my computer guy can retrieve my data off my failed hard drive. I expect to be up and running fully by this afternoon.

I disagree with those of you saying this CD wont go far. Monica has been around long enough to have a good and solid following… IMO, she is one of those stars (like SADE, Whitney, Michael Jackson etc)that you will buy her music, just because you are a fan of her work. She is an ATL local,the song gets much play here. I think the CD is going to do well. OR it will be one of those sleepers…Sleepers are those songs that the RADIO doesn’t play. Brandy’s second CD was a sleeper and believe it or not (and not that I think he and Monica are on the same talent levels) but RayJ’s album with the “I Wish extended” was a sleepr. “Lets Play House” is a sexy sexy song.

Yep..I think she is. She is one of those artist whose sound is timeless enough that you own AT LEAST one of her CD’s and when she drops something new..you will probally cop her new stuff…Monica never became a part of the POP Sound machine. She has that classic sound and as a result she can take time off here and there and when she comes back…we’re excited to see her (music wise)
I’m not fond of the song, but the fashion in this video should get an award alone! Makeup is AWESOME! Nice to see Chad sharing the spotlight. He looked the part and did a great job.
Liked the video and Mo’s hair is mos def on point! But again, why she got on a coat with fur and boots and everyone else in t-shirts and/or no sleeves, WTH?! Mo we all no you got skinny arms and legs, but flaunt that isht girl, don’t hide. I think Mo is Back! with this cd.
the song’s just okay to me. she oversings a lot…too many riffs and yodeling (for lack of a better word) on some of the notes. i also wish she hadn’t tried the Oop…oop riff at the end of the song

Music should not be a trend set by what is played on the radio. Taste and preference is taste and preference. I have said that to my daughter or son many times, when they make a comment like “Don’t nobody listen to that anymore”
What does that mean? If they are not rocking it in the club or if it is not or never been in rotation then it’s not a CD worth buying..
So many people’s music is sooooooooooo slept on when MUSIC Listeners rely on the RADIO i.e Ameil Laurue (sp)…Kem and so on.
wow! I think Chad is a cool dude. No, he’s not the most aesthetically pleasing guy, but I think he oozes swag and sex appeal. It’s not all about the face people lol. He’s confident and that’s what I dig. =)
Mo’s hair and make-up on point! the video is is an average C- and like @sponge said she couldve got somebody nicer looking I dont care for Ochincino or whatever his name is. Anyways, Monica hasnt reach Sade, MJ or even WH success yet, I believe she is still on journey to ICONIC status imo, and even though I love me some Queen Brandy people slept on Human album which I believe was one of the best RNB albums of 08!

Despite what some people say, I don’t think Monica is past her prime. There is an audience for everyone. She just needs to cater to that audience and maybe try to breakthrough to the mainstream again.

Beyonce can sing without the lights, camera and pomp and circumstance I’ve seen her sing when she first went solo a slow song standing in one position no band no nothing and she put it down gave me chills up my spine nohomo
I would say JHUD, Tasia and Mo’ are all on the same level, voice wise anyway. Idol just helped boost Tasia and JHud into the mainstream.
While I think Bey can sing/carry a tune I have never been impressed with her singing abilities. She is a B singer IMO. In At last and Dangerously in love(go back and listen) she sings “HARD” when she thinks she is really doing the darn thing and I am not impressed
I do have ALL of DCs cds and her 1st two solo cds before the STANS try and come for me 
She doesnt make my A list of singers though. She is an overall entertainer if you like coochie popping/yaki blowing in the wind performances.

GGouch, exactly! I too was like 20 when she came out at 13 and was very suprised to see that she was a kid, but I could relate to what she was singing about. Teens her age were more into Brandy cause she sang about stuff they could relate to…Sittin’ Up in My Room, etc. Brandy’s fans grew up with her and Mo’s were already grown. Sad but true! I’m in my late 30′s now, but I still love ya Mo and I’m buyin that album when it drops.

TEAM MONICA. i could listen to her sing songs like this all day. dozen roses, everything, etc. love these songs. now that ‘beat drop’ bs, save that. i guess there’s an audience for everything cuz im sure you had some who loved that song but hate everything. she shouldn’t lend her talents to fly by night productions any more.
i agree that she’s an artist people will always be checkin for cuz she really can sing. her venue is the fox or something intimate like that. stay away from phillips arena or big stadiums when doing shows. monica should still be able to clear high six figures or better annually, just from doing shows, imo.

Keri Hilson,jlo,Janet and Ciara are on that non-singing bus and they let Rihanna run behind it. Bey can sing outside of the studio and without all the lights, camera, action.
