Celebs Out & About: La La Vazquez Ring Shopping in L.A.
Multimedia TV personality and entrepreneur La La Vazquez was spotted out & about in Beverly Hills yesterday with wedding planner, Mindy Weiss, left, and a friend. The ladies were “RING” shopping at XIV Karats in Beverly Hills. La La’s fiance and baby daddy is NBA star Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets.
As you know, Carmelo and La La have set their wedding date for July 10th. I have yet to receive my wedding invite, but there’s still time. Me and La La go way back.
I’ve never been married so I have a question: Does a man give his fiancee his credit card to go buy herself a ring? Or does the woman buy her own ring nowadays like La La appears to be doing, and like Kandi Burruss did?
In the old days it was the man who bought the ring and his fiancee never saw it until their wedding day. But I guess things have changed.

Before I got married, we went ring shopping together so there was no question about what type of ring to get. Hopefully Lala was picking out his band and not her own wedding ring.

Why I can’t be great?
My husband and I talked about rings, so he knew what I liked. He had not mentioned proposing or anything (but ummm duh, but he still aksed me questions, princess vs. emerald…white vs. yellow, etcc. We looked at the bands together..later on. The ring he wanted matched mine..large white, princess cut band. But he though it was too expensive…and opted for titanium. Well, I bought the titanium..showed it to him and took it back. On our wedding day, when the preacher asked for the rings, he was blown away! And that made me even happier.

LaLa ring shopping! How fun!! I have 2 wedding rings, I lost the first one and 6 months later bought myself the second. Then 6 months later found the first one. The first one is waaaay more special because my husband picked it. Even though it was alot cheaper..

As far as the rings, he picked mine out and later on after the wedding we went shopping together for an upgrade but even if she is buying her own ring (or picking it out) at least she’s getting a wedding ring unlike some other engaged couples we hear about.

lol My daughter and I went out and found her engagement ring after her then boyfriend proposed. She found what she liked and he went to the jewelers and paid for it. They’ve been married 10 years. We still laugh about it.
Just remembered, when LaLa was on Wendy Williams she said her Mom was wearing her engagement ring. Mom was sitting in the audience and showed the ring. What happened to that one? She was probably just out jewelry shopping with her girls in this pic.

you’re good. my husband bought me the style i wanted but the diamond was smaller than i wanted. he was so proud of it but i went out and bought a larger diamond. no way in hell i was going to ask him to do it he wasn’t anyway. so now i have two rings but i often think about wearing his (the band for mine is so different though). it’s really not the same when you buy your own and now that the wedding is long gone, the thrill is really kinda over for me anyway.
