Word out of the So Icey camp is that up-and-coming rapper Waka Focka Flame has been arrested again -- this time for a probation violation for leaving the state of Georgia. The 23-year-old rapper is in a Houston prison and will be sitting down for a while this time.
According to TMZ.com, Waka -- real name Juaquin James Malphurs -- was on probation in Georgia for possessing a sawed-off shotgun.
It's a good thing that Waka wrapped his "O Let's Do It Remix" video this past Monday since he won't be making any music videos for a while.
Waka's case illustrates the state of shock that Hip Hop currently finds itself in. Half of Hip Hop's elite rappers are either incarcerated or will be in time.
But there's more: Waka's mom, Debra Antney, is being accused of all sorts of shady dealings when it comes to her artists. Reports are that Nicki Minaj fired Antney as her manager. But according to a former Mizay/So Icey Entertainment employee, Nicki is still contractually obligated to Debra Antney and So Icey Entertainment.
In Georgia, contractual obligations are taken very seriously. Even verbal contracts are honored in courts here. So, while Nicki may no longer want Debra's services, she will still have to pay her. I also hear that Gucci Mane, who is currently incarcerated in a Georgia prison, has reached through the bars to terminate his contract with So Icey Entertainment due to alleged mismanagement.
They word is that when Waka Flocka heard what Gucci Mane said about his mom, he cut all ties with Gucci Mane. This all went down before Waka was arrested yesterday.
