FanMAIL: Surprise, Tyler Perry’s New Leading Man is HUD
Prior to the success of his latest film, Why Did I Get Married Too?, playwright and director Tyler Perry announced his leading man for his latest project, ‘Colored Girls’: Isaiah Mustafa. Perry met Mustafa on the Oprah show last week, and agreed to cast him in the film.
Mustafa is a former NFL player whose Old Spice commercial became an instant YouTube viral sensation, garnering over 6 million views in two months. It should be obvious that Mustafa is “How U Doin” just from the commercial, but of course, it isn’t to most women who always miss the signs.
‘Colored Girls’ stars Janet Jackson (who also stars in ‘Too?’), Whoopi Goldberg and Mariah Carey.
Well, you knew it had to happen (because it’s so painfully obvious): a loyal reader has evidence that Mustafa bats for the other team.
Well, after seeing Oprah on Friday and watching the viral sucess of Isaiah Mustafa for Old Spice ad I have found out that he used to work at the famous West Hollywood gay spot, The Abbey …. He was quite friendly and didn’t mind the love pats he got on that huge ass of his….. LOL. I am riding a horse backward…. Good Practice and this girl he is taken by is a beard, a lezzbo from the club …. He should be really good in Tyler Perry’s new movie For Colored Girls
So he is smelling like a man and a manly man and looking like a bunny.
I find it interesting that nearly all of his leading men are either gay or bi. I take it that Tyler casts his leading men based on the type of men he prefers: thuggish, cute, young, impressive abs, biceps, azz; or a combination of all these physical attributes.

I too thought the cake scene was over the top and something NO woman would do. Tyler always writes from the man’s perspective only. I also had trouble seeing how her friends hadn’t heard from her in days, knew she was going “off her rocker”, saw her car outside and didn’t break the door in. LOL! If that had been my best friend, I would have done just what her husband did to get in that house! LOL

I have to agree with Sandra on this one this guy is very gayyyy….. As far as Why Did I Get Married Too?, parts of it were really over the too but that’s what makes Tyler Perry movies, Tyler Perry movies.

Janet Jackson is going to ruin what has the potential to be a great project. Penny can’t act! and her face, baby hair & curly weave is only going to distract us further from the colored lady she might be playing.

I didnt love or hate Tylers movie. I did feel it was all over the place. I did feel Gavin deserved half of that money because had it been vice versa a woman would have wanted her share as well. I thought that whole argument was dumb she wasnt broke at all. I def. can see a part 3 being made and I hope its better. I always feel Tyler needs to develop his characters and storylines much better and work on resolutions. I felt the emotional affair storyline just came out the blue
I only pd 5 bucks to see it so I wasnt to mad but I was expecting more. I hope he does right by for colored girls.

Oh and why couldnt Jill just tell her hubby she was taking him to chemo. I asked several co workers about that aspect of the movie and surprisngly they all said they wouldnt have a problem with their wife/hubby taking an ex to chemo I was surprised. I think its the Christian thing to do but I dont think ppl were keeping it real about how comfy they would really be in that situation. Troy was looking good though
DH and I talked about the whole chemo situation. He said he would have reacted the same way, I told him that I would have still helped. He said his guy friends should have helped. I was in the movies crying over Gavin getting hit and in the hospital and some idiots behind me were laughing. Overall good movie, you could see Janet’s pain from real life seep into the movie. She went slam off in that house, I said they have a whole lot of glass in that house.
I’m starting to think that some women get off on gay men. I mean this is getting ridiculous that there can’t be a decent post without someone being gay. Wow, just wow!!!
I didn’t see the movie, but as a nurse I’ve seen exes accompany their exes to the hospital for treatment. I think that’s nice but I often wonder if the shoe were on the other foot, would they return the favor? I doubt it because a relationship never involves two equals. One partner always loves the other more and it’s the one who loves the least that controls the relationship.
@Sandra I 1st heard somebody say your last sentence last yr and thought it was very interesting. I think some couples are equally as head over heels about each other but it is rare. Typically one person loves more/stronger/harder etc. Coming from somebody who has never been in love

I have to say that I have heard this statement before and I’m sorry to say that I have to agree with you.
A woman told me that if a female wants to be happy in a relationship, she has to find a man that is more in love with her than she is with him.
I didn’t want to hear that mess but, her ass is still married, 10 years later, and her husband is as loyal as a trained dog. Even when she cheated and he found out, he was over it in less than 3 days.

OK. I haven’t seen the second one but I thought the same thing about their marriage. Something just didn’t seem right. It was too perfect for me. I don’t know, some may think that he goes over the top but you tell me that you can’t identify someone on your family or your friends with each and every character. I definitely can. Yes they wanted to be the perfect couple well at least Janet she wanted to be perfect Patty like she said in part 1. If/when he does a part 3 I hope he doesn’t keep the divorce or death theme going. Overall I just felt part 2 could have been better. He could have let ghetto girls character mature but to me she was even worse in part 2 sadly
Everyone looked to her and Gavin as being the perfect couple. All the other couples looked to them for guidance and a shoulder to lean on. That is an impossible standard to live up to. It seemed that both stopped loving each other a long time ago and the death of their son brought it to light. She threw in his face about helping him build his firm, men already have too much pride, throwing that in their face does nothing. Look at me, I am acting like this is real life.
I don’t think there will be a part 3, if these couples still going through all that mess, time to throw in the towel.

Janet (PATTY) was wrong as two left shoes on all accounts: she didn’t deal with her emotions and pain after the death of their son…which caused a deeper rift in their troubled marriage. Grew apart my foot…she provided no emotion/love to grow from. She never opened her heart up to her husband for him to help her. Then she up and decided to divorce him…yes they were arguing but he didn’t expect her to give up on them…and def not to announce it in front of everyone.
IMO…marital assets are to be split 50/50. If the husband or wife is their contributing their two cents, providing love and sleeping with you every night, they DESERVE HALF!!!
It’s called making a better life for your family whether it’s the man or the woman that has more assets.
@Daisy- I wanted Angela to mature too! She was soooo insecure that is why she was so darn possessive. She really didn’t think a man like Brian could want to love and stay with her. If there is a part 3 I want her to be on that next level and emotionally grow.
Pefect Patty was just waiting to crack. I think her blow up was a combo of Gavin’s reaction to their divorce and her holding in all of that hurt and guilt about her son’s death. Janet did a helluva job doing it too.

The emotional cheating…I saw that coming a mile away…the set up for that was actually pretty good. The confrontation/interrogation was perfect. The answers were quite believable

*cousin-perfect patty- swears everything is all good in her marriage but we found out hubby had a gfriend for 8 yrs and has a baby.
*myself-can’t remember Jill Scotts character- on so many levels I know that character because on so many aspects that has been me.
So I love his plays and his movies because he does expose ppl to the side of us that we may not agree with but it’s the truth.
I got the affair(saw it coming) in the movie I was saying that we dont know WHY. What drove her to seek out somebody else. In part 1 she was the “bad” person in the marriage and now the same in part II. I get that his situations are real life BUT they could be presented better IMO. I support Tyler and his movies but I need him to take it to the next level and he was starting to with the fam that Preys but part II was a step back IMO. I can honestly say I do NOT know a loud mouth Angela type and I am thankful she is so embarrasing.

I think too many ppl get married for the wrong reasons. Most ppl just want to be married to say “I am married”. Knowing good and well they did not sit down and see if they were on the same page. I know married ppl are not going to be on the same page 10 yrs after marriage if you don’t continue to build the foundation. I get tired of women being mad at their husband 5-10 yrs into marriage and have the nerve to complain. You knew Tommy didn’t have a J O B when you married him, no need to complain now.

Forgot all about Jill Scott…she had some of the lines that were most heartfelt to me. She said something like “don’t punish me for loving you, because you will make me do something I don’t want to do” that statement can be taken a couple of different ways. That’s why I thought she was going to cheat.

Although I do want to be married I take it very serious because my parents have been together for over 30yrs and married 28. I plan to take my marriage vows very seriously and prayerfully only say I do ONCE

I loved Terry’s smoothness because it reminds women that men pay way more attention than we realize.
This is when I wish we had more males in the SR fam. I like to hear their unfiltered views on marriage the good bad and ugly.

Why Did I Get Married Too review – I was really disappointed in the way Tyler took this movie. There were good parts, funny parts, etc. but the plots in general were lackluster.
Most shocked at Patty/Gavin – Gavin seemed to be the most sane and soft spoken of the bunch and then Tyler turns him into a abusing, drunk, violent asshole..then to top it off KILLS him for the Rock who WASN’T looking good in that movie..IMO. I think Gavin was entitled to the book money. That part was kind of stupid to me why that would even be an issue. So damn what she wrote it, he worked for the money in the accounts that they were splitting so what was the difference. Oh and I understood him to say he didn’t know that she was asking for a divorce as well, not just that she announced it in front of everyone. He seemed shocked that she said they were divorcing
Lil Ghetto/Knowwhatimsaying – Disappointed that there was NO growth in their characters. Other than Marcus getting a job there was no change. I know Tyler know we liked the hood sista BUT the airport and tv show scene was too much for me. What is Angela now, the skinny Madea? #epicfail
Diane/Terry – where in the hell did this “emotional affair” come from? Why is she always the bad person? Why couldn’t his ass have an affair, or got his pratice poppin and got big headed I mean damn get a divorce if Diane is that bad.
Sheila/Troy – I was o.k with their story but I think sheriff was a bit aggressive but chalk it up to him not having a job. I was just waiting on him to go and beat down (Lem)Mike and hem (Bird)Sheila up against a wall after finding out Sheila had Mike get him a job. I liked what he did with Sheila the best.
Mike – why was he in the movie again? What a waste.
Louis Gossett Jr/Cecily Tyson – should’ve been left on the cutting room floor.
I was expecting Mike to have becamse so obsessed with wanting Sheila back that he goes all psycho in the Bahamas and Troy has to handle him then that would be the end of seeing him

As far as WDIGM3
We have
Patty/Rock – yet another “perfect” love story with no issues. He’s so kind, caring and attentive (that is until Patty doesn’t want his ass anymore)
Terry/Diane – I guess since she has her tubes untied she may as well be pregnant and “perfect” Terry questions her paternity after he finds out she slept with Phil. You know he has to still be the good guy/victim
Sheila/Troy – Sheila will put back on all the weight and Troy will turn into Mike cause he’ll be mad because he took all his damn time helping her lose most of the weight the first time. Mike will beat cancer and even though Sheila is as big as a house wont care this time because he wants his 80 back and Sheila forgives all the crap she talked about in part 2 and her and Mike get back together.
Angela/Marcus – Marcus mans up and leaves Angela for her ghetto/drunk ways. Angela searches for why she’s like this and finds out Madea is her mother
At the end someone has a revelation or tragedy and all problems are fixed with just a lame speech by someone or hell maybe they’ll kill Diane in childbirth and Terry will bring on China as his new love interest for the next one…SMH
