Now even white women are shaving the sides of their head to look like Sean Combs’ sex toy. Will Puffy’s new artist Nicki Minaj follow in Cassie’s footsteps and shave the side of her head too?

I have noticed this even in many everyday older black women. There are way too many still walking around dressed in Baby Phat, Rockawear with super tight ish on. I think it’s fine to be proud of your body and be sexy but you still have to keep it age approriate and classy.

Hello All, a few yrs ago, my best friend got to go to South Africa for 2 wks and she said it’s a beautiful country. (Her pics of the countryside were breathtaking.) But she said the poverty there is staggering. Have any of you ever read Kafir Boy, excellent, excellent book. This South African black boy is so poor, him and his sister sleep under the kitchen table often covered by newspapers. His father, out early one morning looking for employment, was arrested for vagrancy and sent to work at a prison for 2 yrs, which left his mother and family in dire hardship. (Reminds me of the chain gangs of the south.) They used to drink cows blood for dinner, go days without any food, look thru piles of garbage for anything they could fine, once coming across an infant who had been thrown away. Tennis pro Arthur Ashe befriended him and brought him to America to play tennis, a true story. After reading this book, I learned to appreciate the things we take for granted: clean sheets, good food, a good bath! We are so wealthy here in America compared to so many other countries but yet, many are hardly ever satisfied with their lives. (Capitalism at its finest.)
As for Toni Braxton, I lost all respect for her when she tried to out do Jennifer Lopez’s infamous green dress. Remember the strips for a dress? Toni was almost naked, allllll her ass out for the whole world to see. How does one explain this look to a young daughter who wants to emulate her mother? I’m just saying. (The choices we make in life often come back to haunt us.) And again, I ain’t preaching, just the facts jack, just the facts. Nothing but love my family, nothing but love. I’m outta here. Peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

@PaHairston, the thing is that South Africa is the wealthiest sub-Saharan African nation, with the most stable economy and public social services. Even with that level of poverty, that boy was still better of than people in Burundi or Eritrea. Yes people don’t know how lucky they are to be born in certain places.

She does have a habit of copying people. I remember when J-Lo wore that “green dress” to the grammys and had everybody talking, a couple of months later at some black award show Toni wore this very revealing dress. I thought to myself how embarrassing–she was half-naked and trying to create a buzz like J-Lo did, but it didn’t work for her–lol.
