Nas Ordered To Pay Big Bucks To Kelis

$10,000 a month in spousal support is a mere drop in the bucket to a baller like Nas.

Even so, Nas should have persuaded his baby mama Kelis to have his baby here in Georgia where the couple had a home together. Judges here don’t care how much money a celeb makes. The standard child/spousal support check here in Georgia comes to about $2,500 a month.

Just ask rappers T.I. and Jeezy.

Nas went to court Monday over his divorce with Kelis — and walked out a little lighter in the wallet.

According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas had to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support.

The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis.

Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis’ legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28.

Lastly, Nas has to pay $48,549.83 to cover Kelis’ accounting expenses. Read More…

if a woman was to get into a physically adusive relationship and leave only to get into another physically abusive relationship, would you think that she was to blame for being beat up as you implied in your comment?
if a woman didn’t cheat on her man but treated him like **** should he be punished for wanting to leave her?
does having a child together make the man an endentured servant to the mother?

I shouldn’t have to force (child support) ya a** to support the life of ya child. You as a person should do that ish willingly.

That’s my opinion. Plus, I said Nas needs to make better choices in women, since, Carmen, his baby mama, was out suckin and f*ckin JayZ, and then he and Nas had a damn public beef goin back and forth. And then his wife, had a damn sex tape out of her suckin and f*ckin. Now, I’m not sure if that was before or during the marriage, but it was a tape out there.

 I’ve actually witnessed black men and black women go through b.s. when it comes down to child support. My Dad’s baby mama (my little brother’s mother) took him through hell and high water regarding child support, and scheduled visits because she was a b*tch. My Dad ALWAYS took care of us. If my Mom or my sister’s Mom, was working, we were with my Dad, because he didn’t have a set schedule. Our Moms didn’t have to file child support, because he handled his business. Before his baby mama filed for child support, he was handling his business with my little brother. Spending time with him, picking him up from school, taking him to restaurants, amusement parks, buying him clothes, toys, etc, and he got hit with paying $175 a week for an 8 year old.

My sisters got hit with the sh*ts end of the stick as well. Their kids’ donors don’t pay for sh*t and don’t spend time with the kids’, at all. hell, one was even locked up for child support, and still don’t pay sh*t. One Judge ordered my two nieces’ dad to pay an additional $13 a week for the youngest when she was only 6 months!!!! Just because her dad was into sports, and was a coach!!

    @mirsmommy
believe u me i do sympathize with a lot of the single mothers’ plight. my momma was one. she had 4 boys and didn’t get no child support, food stamps, subsidized housing, section 8…my auntie was gone off crack so my momma ended up with her 4 too. my aunt’s daughter had 4 and my mother ended up with 3 of them. my momma bust her ass and for 8 years she didn’t get any help from anybody until me and my brothers were old enough to hustle and bring home money. i don’t have any sympathy for deadbeat fathers, mothers, cousins at all. i got cousins who get child support but don’t raise their kids but won’t give the money to grandma or auntie whose doin the work.
the reality is the men that actually want to be in the kids life are taken to the cleaners in court and pushed away more than people would like to admit and the ones who weren’t gonna be around anyway pretty much get off or the women don’t go after them. i could beg on them street and come up with more than $13 a week. ****, i could be a gigolo and have some woman paying it for me. my brother is a deadbeat and seriously if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be part of my life at all. i raised his daughter for 2 years when i got kicked out of college cause he wasn’t **** and the child’s mother was a teenage alcoholic. hell, my sons’ mother had two kids before me and as soon as i moved her in my crib child support was coming after me for them. i could keep going but i’m sure you get my gist

  58. 58
    Ms.Everything says:

The problem with judges ordering ridiculous settlements imo is that there are so many deadbeats being brought before judges that they are automatically biased and assume that every man is gonna be like the last. I never heard anything regarding him not taking care of his other child. If I was his lawyer id request a new judge and start a whole new case, which is possible (at least it is in CA) so I don’t know why his lawyer hasn’t done that yet. I mean there are some trifling ass women out there who don’t do crap but sit home and collect a county check while they’re baby daddy is doing everything for the baby and then the county goes after a man who is already taking care of his child. Or who will collect that child support check and use it on themselves while the kid is looking raggedy. I know a guy who pays 575 for his 5 year old but has her 4 1/2 days out the week, + he takes her to all medical appts + buys all her clothes, food, toys because the mama won’t and drives 2 hours to get her every Wednesday night and 2 hours to drop her off every Sunday night. The mom is only willing to drive if she needs to get her money and that money is going straight in her pocket. No one needs that much money to take care of a child or themselves. If you can’t live with whatever you get in child support/spousal support get a damn job. If that still doesn’t work for you let him raise the baby simple as that. Kelis has a job that makes her money she doesn’t need all that meanwhile I’m sitting home with 4 kids and not a dime in support, I have an order that they can’t collect on, but did I sit back crying and go broke? Hell no I kept a job bringing in enough to support all of us and have gone about my merry way.

And she needs to be careful cause if he fails to pay the IRS or dies suddenly they will go after her ass to collect. That happened to my mom. She was paying my dads debt to Uncle Sam 5 years after he died which was 10 years after they divorced.

That is beyond the truth!!!
When my Dad was going to court for child support and visitations for my little brother, one Judge didn’t wanna hear nothing he had to say. The first judge told my Dad to keep all of his receipts, and the second Judge told him, literally, what you do for the child outside of paying child support does not matter. :wtf:

    ___________________________________________________________

That first statement you just made, is exactly what I told my Dad. And that’s the messed up part about it, because you do have the cases where the Dad is not a deadbeat and actually doing what they can for the kids.

I told a cousin of mine to keep all of his receipts and to give the child’s mom money orders or checks instead of cash. He pays for EVERYTHING for his daughter. He didn’t want to listen, stating “She’s cool.” I told him, we’ll see how cool she is if you ever get into another relationship and/or finish school. Long story short, seven years later, he’s getting married and now owes seven years worth of back child support and this woman has a very checkered work history for the past 7 years, and retail at that. It doesn’t take a genius to see there’s no way she could have supported that child and herself working at the mall.

yeah, the stress of working 2-3 jobs to take care of all of us finally got the best of her and she passed in 2002 2 months after my first son was born. i used to be angry at her and wondered why she wasn’t more selfish and just take care of her own, not to her face though. i grew older and realized that the world needs people like her, otherwise we’d all be ****ed, so i’m extra hard on folks that just sit on their ass and let the government take care of them. it’s funny because these are the same chicks that always scream how independant they are and how they don’t need anybody’s help.
what my momma did had a residual effect on 3 of her sons though. we all have raised children that were not our own and took them in many times at our own detriment. i couldn’t believe that the state started taking money out of my check for the two kids that weren’t mine and i had to go to court to straighten it out. at the time i had been the kids’ father for 3 years and i got them when they both were still in diapers. it was ****ed up that i had to stand them in front of the judge and tell him that i’m not the kids father in front of them.

Child support should be set up imediately. The courts will go back to date of birth once you file. Keeping receipts in some states mean nothing.

You are absolutely correct with the world needing more people like her.

Did the kids’ Mom file for child support against you for the two children, and this is what caused them to garnish you?

the state came after me because since we weren’t married i couldn’t add her/them on to my insurance. one of the kids had to go to the doctor and she used the state insurance. i’m guessing they thought that i was the father and we were somehow trying to get over for paying for it. when the letter came to my house it had the biological father on it so i really didn’t pay it any mind because i thought it was about her trying to get a child support order against him. in wisconsin if they send you a letter and you don’t respond they’ll take that as an admission of guilt and start garnishing your check. from my understanding they thought she was using an alias for me because we weren’t getting any stamps or nothing like that.
evryting ended up getting dropped and we stayed together for another 5 years after that. she didn’t get any child support from dude the entire time.

@Awesome, wow that’s a messed up story but it seems like you’re a good man. I can’t stand trifling parents be they mothers or fathers period. If you know you aren’t willing or capable to take care of a child get fixed get on some type of semi permanent bc or dont do the deed at all. I don’t believe in abortion but when I see some mothers with their kids I start to really think about that. Although there are a lot of deadbeat no good fathers there are just as many deadbeat mothers out there, the spotlight just isn’t on them. I worked my ass off until they fired me only taking one week off the entire time I’ve been sick. I only took that week because I was in the hospital. I would leave the ER at 3 am and be back at my desk on time the next morning at 8 and I did that so my kids could eat, have insurance and a roof over their heads and so they could see that you don’t depend on others to take care of you. Now that I’m home I still get up get dressed and let them see me taking care of business. While I was waiting for my unemployment checks I went and applied for food stamps. Here I am, have worked my whole life and these women with 50/11 kids are sitting there dressed better then me, labels head to toe, hair freshly done and the kids are dirty and bad as hell. 5 years old sucking pacifiers and ****. Then I get inside and the worker looked at my son and couldn’t believe that he was intelligent enough to sit quietly and read a book while I was filling out paperwork nor could she believe that there was only ONE father for my 4 children and that he was my husband. She checked birth certificates wanted to see my marriage license and everything because that was apparantly such a rarity. I was so damn upset by the time I left there that all I could think was how do these chicks do this every month and think its okay, that having the government all up in your business is just the thing to do so you can sit home and do nothing but talk on the phone and make some more babies. And in CA they actually have a cutoff on the amount of children you can have while getting paid. I can’t remember the actual number but after a certain amount of kids are born and you still haven’t got off welfare they will not increase your check. You’ll get more food stamps and the baby will have insurance but you’ll have the same amount of money each month. They also only give you 5 years of receiving cash aid and then they will cut you off and only allot a certain amount to the kids and food stamps but these chicks still find away to get around it smdh. I couldn’t do it
