Listen, I was watching basketball wives last night and they had Evelyn [Lozada] going at it at [with] that Vanessa Davis about the emails and such.
I googled Vanessa Davis because I wanted to see who her hubby was and what team he played for. Boy was I surprised when I came across this mess, it’s funny because I recall reading about this and that’s how I found out who Sakra Ross was.
She now dates a Philadelphia Eagle and is close friends with Antonia Toya Carter and this Vanessa even tries to drag Toya into this mess.

this is so extra and fake. this is the second time someone had gotten a drink thrown on them and no one came to blows…i just don’t get it…but i was on the floor laughing when old girl told her “you aren’t even a wife” that’s what got her mad.
fake or real, i see why the nba put out that notice that no one’s wives can be on the show anymore.
evelyn wasn’t gonna do sh!t. she’s all talk. dont talk about whooping my ass, teach me a lesson by doing it.
i was kinda disappointed that Suzie brought her there like that. i would have rather suzie talk with her one on one, get an idea of what’s going on and then arrange a meeting with evelyn. she wasn’t expecting that.
and like she asked, what you gonna do when you find out it’s not her? evelyn is all talk.

First, I had to get up enough heart to watch it, cuz I just can’t bear to watch movies where something bad happens to children. I did in fact cry my eyes out while watching it, but I think I was expecting more action to happen in the movie. I really thought that she would be haunting the killer in the movie. Like really haunting him. I was hoping her father was gonna beat the brakes off him, or that the killer would at least get arrested.

I think all of this is silly, FCUK hair and how someone feels about your hair. I’m the sh*t short, natural, long, weave’d up or whatever, but that’s how I feel about me. And furthermore, how do you let someone’s opinion of you on a message board affect you? You better worry about how people see you in real life.
Anyway that isn’t even what I wanted to address. I want to address the whole Latino thing and peoples lack of knowledge regarding it. I am going to go real elementary so people can keep up.
There is a DIFFERENCE between race and nationality. Your race is what you are e.g Black, White, Asian or a mix, and your nationality is the nation in with you come from. So if you had 4 African sisters and one was taken to a so-called Latino country (Cuba, Dominican Republic, or Puerto Rico), one to America, one to Haiti and one stayed in Africa….guess what, they are all still Black/African….Just because your language has changed and your skin got a little lighter or hair got long and straight (or good as some like to say) just means somewhere down the line some white blood mixed in you…I wish that people would stop wearing this “I’m Latino” like a badge of honor or stop trying to separate us like they are not black. I can’t stand when I hear someone say, “I’m not black, I’m Cuban, I’m Dominican, I’m Jamaican or I’m West Indian”. More African slaves were brought to the Caribbean than America. So guess what, they just had a different set of slave masters.
I’m really surprised at some of you that pride your selves on being knowledgeable or well studied. I thought you would have known better.
Black people are not limited to shade, hair length or texture. I really wish that we would stop this.
I have never seen April Rain and don’t know where she is from but what I do know is that is that her origin is African and that she is only Latino or Spanish cuz that is who conquer the slaves wherever she is from. So she is my sister too.
@ Florida is That Cuban -Indian makes you my people too. I don’t care how light you are or how straight your hair is!

From what I understand, the older generations tend to identify more as Latino and younger generation Hispanic. It has a lot to do with political perferences also.

@ April, I am damn near 40 years old scooter pooh and when I am talking to you, about you or addressing you, I will say your name specifically. I’m not scared. I am talking about the masses that let this silly tactic continue to divide us. I was actually defending you.
For instance, people in my own very blood family that are darker than me with so called “nappy hair” will say they are not black they are Spanish…..no you speak Spanish. Spaniards are Europeans aka White Folks. Another example, a friend of mine, her husband is from Belize, and when people ask her what he is, instead of saying Black-from Belize, she will say he is Latin, she use to say Spanish until one day he heard her and her told her, “I don’t even speak Spanish” . But my all time favorite has to be when my Black Dominican mother will say how Puerto Ricans this or that and they are Lower on the Hispanic food chain and blah blah blah, then I have to remind her that they are the same exact make up(African, Taino Indian, and Spaniard-White) as Dominicans and Cubans, the only thing that makes them different is geography-the map.
What about Barak, A. Keys, Mariah, or Halle? They are all Black with white blood and if they were born in another country and spoke the native language of that country what would you call them?

My heart almost flatlined when I read your comment. You hit the nail on the head….so true….so so true. I rarely comment but have kept up with that whole blogging “beef” that went on. I could only hope I will never become a hyprocrite…even if one day I feel the need for attention. AprilRain’s comment could have been taken totally out of context or may have offended some. (I read it and saw where some could be offended but I personally wasn’t. Those who were offended had valid arguements. Speak your peace and hope you get you point across.) But I HATE it when some people use racial issues to kick up drama only to draw attention to themselves for their own selfish needs. It is disgusting.
