Oscar winner Halle Berry was spotted leaving her Genesee offices today after a few hours of volunteering at the non-profit organization in Baldwin Hills, CA. It should be against the law for a 45-year-old woman to be this insanely gawgeous without the benefit of makeup or hair weave! Like fine wine, Halle only gets better with age.

More pics of Janet's beautiful short hair cut at the London premiere of Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?. I LOVE Janet's hair like this. I hope she keeps this cut and never puts that weave back in. I have noticed a lot more women opting to abandon the Yaki in favor of their own beautiful hair, and I hope it's a trend that continues. I love short hair on women.

Actor/comedian/singer Jaime Foxx was spotted arriving at Katsuya restaurant in Hollywood, CA with his daughter Corrine Foxx. By the way, Jamie is not gay. I thought I'd throw that in here because I received a confirmation from a very well-connected source who should know (*wink wink*).

Pop singer Rihanna was seen partying hard early this morning in Dublin, Ireland while we slept. Dublin is one of the stops on RiRi's successful #1 selling world tour.

Rapper and New Jersey Nets basketball team minority co-owner Jay Z, right, attended a breakfast meeting with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at Gracie Mansion on Wednesday (May 19).

YES Sandi, we all know that Halle is a very beautiful woman lol...Personally, I think Janet looks alot older with her short hair, all woman IMO, look younger with long hair....picture Halle, RiRi, Solange, all with long hair......thay would be even more Gaww*us...I dont know why woman be trippin over,,,oh her lace front is to high, or to low,,,,,woman are there own worst enemie, I put that. I'm Latina, and believe me, if I was able to switch up my hair style like Y'all, I would be takin full advantage...

  • Kimmy

I am really feeling this short hair cut on Janet. I agree with you Sandra, she definitely should not go back to the long weave. The short cut shows off her beautiful facial features more and makes her look so much younger! The same goes for Halle, she is so much prettier with short hair, that weave made her look older. Both Janet and Halle look beautiful.

  • Nightshift

Halle and Janet both look freakin GORGEOUS with those short cuts!! That look does not make Janet look older at ALL. Heck, it looks like it took about 10 years off of her face at the least. They are reppin hard for the grown and sexy women. I am inspired.

Jamie is such a coon and incrediably immature. I actually hoped he was gay as hell.

Seeing Jay go from being dope boy fresh to hob-knobbing with a billionaire mayor is amazing.

  • Man, I just don’t care™

Halle lookin so good she almost make me forget about how promiscuous and crazy she is....Almost.

That doesn't look like Jamie Foxx's daughter. I thought she was younger than that. And uglier than that too. Maybe she grew into her looks.

Janet lookin good to me. Keepin all the fat, pounds and plastic surgeons away.

Rhi lookin sexy. I wonder where her sex toy *ahem* "special assistant" is?

  • KrayZKat

Halle - overrated to me. Sorry, but I don't buy the hype.

Janet looks wonderful with her short do. It enhances her facial features.

  • Man, I just don’t care™

Why is Jamie's daughter givin him the side eye like that?

Halle looks good but she is starting to show her age. She's not in the top ten hottest women anymore.

*frowned up* Look at Jay "Jigga-boo Camel" Z. I wonder if he realizes no one takes him serious as a "business man." LOL. Prolly throwing up "Da Rock" signs in meetings with the Mayor and chit. SMH.

  • Sunny2006

Remember short cuts was the thing back in the 90's? I'm glad it's coming back in style. IMO I'm tired of making these chinese owned hair shops rich. They don't know anything about our hair.

  • Daisy

    Jamies daughter was always fly

Halle is still a bad BISH slaying women half her age

Short hair doesn't make all women look older at times long hair can age a woman over 40 IMO. Both Janet and Halle are werking the HELL out of their short do. I can't wait to cut n color my locs in a few wks for my short/sassy summer doo!

  • qtipthecat

Jay "Jigga Boo Camel" Z looks good to me. I know someone is taking him seriously because he laughs all the way to the bank. :hump:

 @ the mere thought of that!!

At topic: I believe Halle is overrated as well. If I had to choose between her and Janet, Janet definitely wins (just my opinion  ). Rihanna looks good (as always). Jamie, his daughter, and Jay look nice too.

I have been wearing my hair short & sassy since the 90s. I already have a baby-face so long hair did me no justice. I look much more mature and dare I say *gasp* sexy with this short cut. Everyone cannot pull off short cuts.

LOL at Jigga-boo bein a good "Business man." He is a figure head that profitted from the hard work of others. The majority of his wealth came from the business decions of Dash and the sale of Rocawear (due to Damon Dash).

When the split with Dash came about record labels were estatic because they knew Jigga-boo is an idiot. He hasn't made ONE major deal since he and Dash split. He's a minority owner in the Nets and "good friends" with Lebron, seems a "good business man" would be able to strike a deal...

I guess if u put on a suit and take pics wit rich yt folks and politicians then u must be a good business man. :shrugs:

There ain't nothin sexy/sassy bout a woman with a shaved neck...LMAO......no offense. Dont be mad @Sandi, I think your cut looks good. Everyone was raised different, and I was raised viewing long hair as sexy. To each his own. @janet, u look hot with long black curly hair!!!

    BUT

Why come on a site that is primarily African American related knowing that many or some black women on here wear short styles and make such a demeaning statement? We black women have enough in society to face with someone always telling us we are not enough, so for you to come to this spot to throw that comment in just to basically to make yourself feel more pretty and superior is well.....offensive and hateful. Some things are better left unsaid.

Looking at Halle B, I want to stop eating. She is rocking 40+ very well. She, Janet Jackson, LisaRaye and Vanessa Williams are my health inspirations. You don't have to look busted after 40.

I am so proud that Janet has finally matured. The shy little girl image wasn't working after 40. I love her new look

How childish? So what if you are Latino? If being so is heaven in your eyes then why come on a black related blog to insult short hair style sistas to make yourself more superior Latino self feel better? I am not interested in insulting Latino women and there is a laundry list of negative things that I could say, but I was raised better than that. Furthermore, please spare me with your stories of racism. We don't have to have a racism contest cause we have been in the led for 400+ years in that area.
I guess you don't understand that we can disagree without being insulting. Hell, we can just disagree, period. I never insulted long hair people. I simply stated that Janet did not look older with her hair cut short. YOU on the other hand decided that you should insult ALL short hair style women on this black related blog by making an offensive general statement THEN you threw in your upbringing to make it more official that we are not sexy. Don't try to nickel and dime my statements or waste my time with rhetoric about racism. Face the fact that you were hateful and deal. If we "shole is ugly" over here then maybe Latina.com is a better fit.

I am so glad I am not my hair and long hair does not always equal sexy or prettier I dont care if you are black or latina. Women just make sure your hair is the best it can be weave, natural, locs, permed, short, bald, curly, nappy etc DO YOU and love the skin you are in! Rock what makes you look and feel the best and keep it moving.

Daisy>>>>here<<<< I see women of all races....that are straight up beautiful....long hair...short hair.......the other day I saw this beautiful black woman...she had a BALD head.....and chick stole the room. She was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! Her skin...her hair(lack there of)her swag.....chick was turnin heads fa real. My mother's hair is short....and my momma is bad(thank you)...I see women everyday who r beautiful.....phuck hair...that don't make u or break u!!!!!

  • natrlbeauty08

Women can look beautiful whether they are bald or have hair down to their ankles. Personally, I think women with shorter hair rock their's better simply because it takes a lot of self-confidence to wear shorter dos and not hide behind their hair. Also, I think that both Janet and Halle look gorgeous with shorter hair. Long hair makes Halle look plain to me.

@AprilRain - You probably never noticed the lacefronts and weaves because you're not familiar with black hair. But people that are familiar with it can spot a hot mess from a mile away. The only thing that you proved by saying that you never noticed it till you started reading this blog is that you don't know much about our hair. Just because you're not familiar with it doesn't mean it should be ignored.

LOL! I didn't take offense to it because surely you can't be serious (e.g. KELLY ROWLAND). I want to make it clear I am not on some Fight The Power mess, but the nerve of others to come in here and be demeaning to your culture and then have other black folks back it up and question you is mind-numbling. Stevie Wonder can see she was insulting black women. Who is the hell normally gets the nape area shaved when wearing a short hair cut other than men?? It ain't alot of white, latino or asian women that's for sure. So its obvious she was coming at us. Then to play all innocent and say she will leave the issue alone because she didn't realize some are so sensitive is even more ridiculous. Latinos know just as much about the issue surrounding hair because there are many of them that are mixed and just plain black and hair texture, length, grade is a slave master mentality for them as well. She knew what she was doing.

  • MandaPanda0408

I didn't think AprilRain's comment was racist, however I did find it attention seeking which is why I said what I said. I think that it made her feel better about herself to say because she has long hair she prefers it and she thinks short hairstyles can't compare. Everyone has their own opinion, I'm not saying she is not entitled to hers. All I'm saying is chose the best forum to do so. Because she is not of African-American or African descent, and made a comment that put a primarily African-American and African hairstyle down to raise her own view of self image for a woman up, on a PRIMARILY black blog says to me she wants attention, why else would she have said that? I am not sensitive about my hair in the slightest, I could give two shyts who likes it or not. I am however someone that takes offense to people outside my heritage and culture demeaning something that is a part of it. Even if that is how she feels she should not be saying it here, where a majority of the commentors are African-American.

Case in point, one of my closest friends is Muslim, I don't particularly care for the head to toe scarf outfits she is required to wear. I think that she should be allowed to wear what she chooses, but do I bring this up at her house, with her family or her? NO, because that's THEIR culture, and it may offend them, and I may be looked at as an attention seeker.

Let that sink in and I'll wait...... :waiting:

  • AprilRain

  • Chgoprime

NIGHTSHIFT- I'M W/you and I'll leave it at that.

There are so many other pressing issues in our community yet we choose to focus on something as superficial as hair? 60% of black babies are born out of wedlock, less than 20% of black males graduate high school. I'm sorry I just can't.....

TO ME Janet looks younger with short hair, buuuut she wore some of the best weaves ever. She will be a goddess whether she decides to loc her hair, wear a fro or bone straight weave, Simply b/c WE got it like that.....

So sick of black women taking to youtvbe & other bs avenues w/separatist videos about our hair. Who cares?! Janet is the bomb.com she can do whatever clearly......If you don't like women w/long hair don't look at them simple math. No need to be insulting. If you're a woman concerned w/what another woman is doing w/her hair you have waaaaay too much time on your hands and your priorities ain't in order.

Me personally I've been natural for a long time. That doesn't mean you won't catch me w/a blow out from the arabs from time to time, sometimes I wear an 18' inch yaki sew in, most times I wear a braid out, doesn't matter. We are not our hair.

And for the record Sandi there isn't a single "yaki piece" in Janet's head this time around like you stated a couple days ago. I bet if certain BW channelled their interest to something worthwhile, that out-of-wedlock issue just might go down...

On another note why are non-blacks so concerned OR obsessed with US? why do you feel compelled to voice your opinion about US? why are black blogs never really exclusive to US? There's never a black face on Telemundo, plenty of non-blacks on BET though. Why are blacks so forgiving to non-blacks but never your brethren? Hmmmmm so many unanswered questions. I'm on some other ish today yall never mind me...

On another note why are non-blacks so concerned OR obsessed with US? why do you feel compelled to voice your opinion about US? why are black blogs never really exclusive to US? There’s never a black face on Telemundo, plenty of non-blacks on BET though. Why are blacks so forgiving to non-blacks but never your brethren? Hmmmmm so many unanswered questions. I’m on some other ish today yall never mind me…

Okay I think I should state this again....the only thing that defines me as being black is my exterior and to my knowledge there are latino's of African descent I mean the whole go back to where you come from is racist and sounds asinine...I mean if a person of another race said that you would all be up in arms..

I mean y'all are trying to kill the girl over her opinion how did she insult black hair if she said...long hair makes people look younger...All some of you are doing is bringing attention to a simple comment if you thought it was attention seeking why pay it any mine...

Why are we taking this from a debate about hair to make it so racist..Some of you are so racist and ignorant ...And last time I checked this isn't any of our blogs it is Sandra Rose and she does posts about all races so...

And why when blacks agree with others they are "brainwashed" I think it is the other way around....and she wasn't looking for attention some people were looking for an argument... :coffee:

Hey Missy! Hope u had a good weekend. To answer ur question in ur first comment about what I meant when I said "I wish I could switch up my hair like Y'all" it was meant as a compliment. Either I have my hair straight down or in a pony tail, gets boring after a while. That was all,,,thanks for coming to my offense, I appreciate it more than you know, and you are one of the reasons I log on, girl you have me cracking up all day! I did notice when I first signed up, I had my pic as my gravi,, I would get ignored, or my comments would get shade, or clowned. I changed my gravi, and I started making friends, and you know, having fun...well i'm putting my pic back up. People are gonna hate no matter what, and thats ok. I would just like to say that I never meant to hurt anyone with my comments, and that is all. Have a great night Missy!

Quote of the Day: " If we “shole is ugly” over here then maybe Latina.com is a better fit."

I am so proud of Chgoprime, Nightshift and natrlbeauty08.

My greatest (s)hero (next to my mother and grandmother) Harriet Tubman once said, “I freed thousands of slaves. I could have freed thousands more,if they had known they were slaves.”

Any American born Black woman who did not find Latina.com's (aka AprilRain) comments offensive should have their heads examine.

I recommend they read BRAINWASHED: CHALLENGING THE MYTH OF BLACK INFERORITY by Tom Burrell. This should be the first book read in SR book club.

LMAO. When you're looking for something or someone to be racist or if you have the mindset that any non-Black person is racist or that any non-Black person is out to "get" Black people, you will turn anything into a racist act. April didn't post that Black women with short hair were ugly. That was your interpretation.

Now my problem is saying that she is racist and then going in on Latinas/latinos. Latina.com? WOW!!! I don't think that it was with malicious intent, if she was racist I hardly doubt that she would even be a commentor on this sight or commenting. Just another day of making a mountain out of a mole hill.

  • FloridaChick813

Damn these comments went WAY LEFT FIELD!!!!!!

Being of the hispanic/italian/cuban/white decent, what the h3ll is so wrong with us(non-black folks) coming to SandraRose???

Nothing wrong with short or long hair. Some women look better with short hair, others look better with long hair. I will say this though, my hair was damn near to my as.s and about a month ago I cut it to my ears(cute bob hair cut) and EVERYBODY tells me how much more mature I look. Its not a bad thing ladies. Me myself, I prefer to look more mature then like a child who hasnt graduated high school  Thats just me though, and thats how I looked with the long hair.

In conclusion: Nobody should've taken offense to what AprilRain said. I've seen much worse on this here blog. If you cant take it, then simply skip over the comment. #JustSayin

  • FloridaChick813

    Ooh and :violin:

  • Nightshift

I truly hate I said anything because I knew that it would turn into this. The "others" always get us to rally around them even when they start the mess. I cannot understand how anyone cannot think that she was being malicious since she blatantly stated that she was being insulting because we disagreed. But for some reason no one seems to read that part. It is what it is with us.

  • mzvirgo78

@ Nightshift ...I read the entire thread from top to bottom and I don't think she was being "racist" persay. IMO that is a strong word and it shouldn't be thrown around like "if, and, or THE". However, I DO agree with you that she WENT IN on you and all women with short hair because you simply disagreed with her comment. To make it so bad you didn't even DIRECT your comment towards her. Lol! She blatantly ADMITTED to saying that's why she WENT IN. What she said ...depending on who's reading it can come off as being offensive. I myself wasn't offended because I knew what her intent was and I'm not moved by ignorance. But all in all it was just another day on sandrarose.com and that's typically what you can expect to see on this blog. Noshade :coffee:

My thing is that when someone disagrees with that person they say something personal to them.Because she is not black it was then turned to a 'reacist'thing. I refuse to beef with ppl that don't know me or know nothing about me besides the comments that I make on here. The comment was made towards one person. Maybe it got personal but I didn't take offence to it because she wasn't talking to me.

I had no intent to beef her and I had never start anything like this on here. Ever. She intentionally was insulting and admitted that and then had people defend her as being non-malicious and wrongly insulted as a racist when she start all this mess in the beginning and admitted to it.

LOL @ yvonne! Ppl dont understand that this is a **drumroll** BLOG! Unless someone is speaking to u directly, nothing should be taken seriously. I have noticed that WE (as black ppl) LOVE to pull the race card but WE are so quick to say/act in a racist way ourselves! Its not right to say something is racist and then counter that with a racist comment yourself! You are only making yourself look ignorant! Black, Latina, Chinese, Cuban, etc........we are all MINORITIES! And we (as minorities) will never achieve anything by fighting amongst ourselves! In essence, we are only doing what the YT wants for us to do!

Hello All. First things first. Today is my birthday, I'm 56 yrs old, old enough to be a mother to most on this blog so respect me if you can. My husband of 8 yrs gave me a card and $20 roses from Safeway which he bought last nite. Should I be disappointed? And yes he does work, every day.

As for Halle, she's what 42 and can still rock a pair of short-shorts? Need I say more? Janet is as pretty as she was on Good Times, what a smile!

As for this heated discussion about black hair, somewhere there's a saying that your hair is your crown and glory but I don't think it was referring to us black women. When God was handing out hair, black women told Him to just ball it up and throw it to me. (a joke, a joke) The Latina that started this conversation on this black blog: big balls, big balls but racist? Many Americans really don't know the meaning of this word but I won't preach, not on my birthday.

Family, no matter how you feel bout my rantings, you know it ain't nothing but love here, nothing but love. And besides, I won't be here always. Peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

"sale of rocawear was only 20 million his fortune is close to half a billion. the livenation deal alone was 150 million and thats HIM by his lonesome"
    ______________________________________________________________________________

"Rocawear clothing line, which he sold last year for $204 million..."

"The overall package for Jay-Z also includes an upfront payment of $25 million, a general advance of $25 million that includes fees for his current tour, and advance payment of $10 million an album for a minimum of three albums during the deal’s 10-year term, these people said. A series of other payments adding up to about $20 million is included in exchange for certain publishing, licensing and other rights."
    -NY TIMES

Basically he signed a debt agreement and passed it off as income. He got $25 mil up front and ADVANCES of $25 mil and the rest is laden in incentives (that everyone knew wouldn't be met!) See, that $150 mil SOUNDS good but when you get down to it he made $25 million up front and rest was a loan.

I think that Jay-Z is making business moves right now to set himself up as a corporate person later after he stops rapping. Most like to say he could not have did it w/o Dame & the other dude, but he has went even further since the break up of Rocafella. What are they doing now if they were the so called "brains" of the operation. Exactly! They were given money from the label and the clothing line. Jay went on to buy other ventures and build his brand. When you are trying to network it looks good to be a part owner of the Net's no matter how small. He is showing other like minded people he's serious and he has the money to play with them.
