Throwback Fridays: Remember When Bobby Brown Used To Date Janet Jackson?

I had no clue that singer Bobby Brown dated Janet Jackson until I read an excerpt in his autobiography “Being Bobby Brown: The Truth and Nothing But …”
“I can recall that I started drinking heavily when Janet Jackson and I broke up. Before I met Janet I would never drink hard liquor, I only drank beer. But after our break up, I started drinking hard liquor abundantly. I took the way our relationship ended very hard. Not to say we were head over heels in love, but she was someone I had a lot of feelings for. Besides, we were young and naive. I was only about 19 or 20 years old. Young love is no joke!”
Thanks to loyal reader Lisa Jackson for sending this scan of a now defunct Fresh magazine featuring lovebirds Bobby and Janet on the cover!

Parents Defend Daughters’ Slutty Dancing

I had one word when I watched this video after loyal reader Debra emailed it to me last week: shocked!
The video was filmed during a dance competition in California on April 10. It shows 5 scantily clad 8 and 9-year-old girls dancing to Beyonce’s hit song “Single Ladies.”
Now that the video has gone viral all over the Internet, two of the parents have come forward to defend their lack of parenting skills. The two parents appeared on Good Morning America today (I guess the other parents were too embarrassed to show their faces on TV).
Cory Miller, the father one of the dancers, said the video was “taken completely out of context,” and the performance was “completely normal for dancing.” Sure it is — completely normal for dancing in a strip club! I’ve seen strip moves that are tamer than the dance steps these children performed.
Another parent, Melissa Presch, defended the children’s skimpy outfits, which she claimed were necessary for flexibility.
“The costumes are designed for movement, unrestricted movement and to show body lines,” she said. What body lines???
“We’re very proud of our daughters and their accomplishments,” she added.
Well, I hope that in a few years these two idiot parents will be equally as proud when their daughters come home knocked up and make them instant grandparents.
T.I. On Larry King Live (Full)
Rapper T.I.’s appearance on CNN’s Larry King Live last night shed new light on a man who, in his brief 29 years on earth, has accomplished and experienced more than grown men twice his age.
T.I. thoughtfully explained his recent stint in a federal prison for possessing firepower that even the police don’t use. T.I., real name Clifford Harris Jr., talked about the death of his childhood friend, Philant Johnson, being the force behind the paranoia that increasingly drove him to collect a stash of illegal weapons.
And he mused about the love of his life, his fiancee Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, who he plans to marry next month.
But most impressive was T.I.’s interaction with King. Though decades apart in age, T.I. easily elevated himself to King’s level rather than force King to come down to his.
T.I. left an indelible impression on the minds of millions of people who tune into Larry King Live every night, who may not have realized that a thug gangsta rapper can be an intelligent one too.
The following is a glossary of all the big words used by T.I. in his guest appearance on Larry King Live last night.

PICS: Gucci Mane Welcome Home Dinner

When rapper Gucci Mane was released from the Fulton County jail at midnight on Wednesday (May 12), one of the first calls he made was to Atlanta’s premier party planner Jamahl King of S.T.E.P.S. Events to coordinate his big Welcome Home dinner at the swanky Georgian Terrace Hotel.

As you can see from these pictures, Jamahl (pictured) did not disappoint! In less than 24 hours, Jamahl laid out quite a spread for Gucci and his guests inside one of the huge Georgian Terrace ballrooms.

Well-heeled guests such as R&B singers/reality show stars Monica and Kandi Burruss; rappers Big Boi, Shawty Lo and Wacka Flocka Flame; producers Jazze Pha, Sean Garrett, dined on filet mignon, miniature beef Wellington, peekytoe crab salad, pecan crusted chicken, bananas foster and freely flowing champagne!
