Congratulations go out again to singer Alicia Keys who is pregnant with her first child (that we know of).
But Alicia’s international fans wonder if Alicia is just using her current condition as an excuse for her horrid performances on her world tour.
A loyal reader who attended AK’s show at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain yesterday, emailed me to say some concertgoers are demanding refunds. I guess no one wants to pay ridiculous amounts of money to see an out of shape woman dragging herself around the stage, all out of breath and singing way off key.
Oh, wait, she was doing that even before she was pregnant.

Wow at the jab! Starts off sweet and turns sour! Ouch! Alicia was a horrible performer anyway though so I agree. I can’t stand singers who can’t dance and fully enetertain. Who wants to pay all that to watch her stand? Which is why Beyonce isn’t a singer but ENTERTAINER a true star. Alicia just rubs me the wrong way something always about her seemed suspect. Can’t put my finger on why I dislike her.
And she is gonna be a HUGE pregnant lady! How far along is she? She looks so big already and she is wearing black!

Alicia makes great music…never been to a show but her vocals can be a bit “strained” at times. She sings at the top of her register A LOT in her recorded music so trying to reproduce that will make you go hoarse.
She is big already smh. Her vocals arent anything special to me.
When I saw her in Miami earlier this year, she was on point! She did her thing! Maybe it’s because she IS preggers and can’t handle performing. She is dancing way more on this tour

I’ve been to two Alicia concerts and she sounded good. Could have been a recording or the acoustics in the building or something but it was cool. She DEFINITELY ain’t dancin and chit and that’s cool. She did her “one-two shimmy” and played on the piano. That was a few years back tho.
I have seen her “live” performances on t.v. and she sounded turr-ree-bull! Not sure what’s up with that.

Kimmy…I’m 100% with you. I never understood the hype over Alicia Keys either. Some of her stuff sounds okay, but when I’ve seen her on TV live — I flipped the channel because she was doing MORE hollering than singing.

Never been to a concert of hers. But the performances I’ve seen on TV have left alot to be desired..I love her music(well some of her older stuff) but right now she needs to take a seat. I don’t know what it is but just knowing shes up there pregnant is turning me off even more …its time to take a vacation and go sit on a beach and relax. I’m sure your she is not starving for the $$. Cancel a few tour dates and come back strong after the baby…
@Man…I’d have to see something recent from Usher. His performances fell off so badly with “Here I Stand” I can’t see him bouncing back and being comfortable on stage again.

LOL. You ain’t lyin. Well, his music improved since “Here I Stand” so I’m assuming that his performances will improve too.
I think Ne-Yo is slept on as an artist but he is solid at all phases from performance, to singing to writing. I was even feelin his “rap diss” against Chris Brown.
Her baby is gonna be baked alive with that plated aluminum foil jacket get-up! What is that all about? AKeys can’t sing to me which is why I never been a fan! She screams and just sits behind the piano. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles did more than she does during a performance and they was are/were blind!

You must not have gone to a Ne-Yo concert. The guy brings it. I must admit. He will never be as big as Usher or Chris Brown because he’s just too ugly. Just how the business goes. But the man can perform. Don’t you recall R. Kelly kickin him off his tour because he was gettin too much shine???
I was going to put Chris Brown in there too because I’ve seen him perform and he does it big. Especially when he do the “Michael Jackson” bit… but I think he emphasizes dancing over singing a bit much. Just a TAD more to the dancing side. I guess that’s for his teenage girl (and old cougars) fan base tho.

I don’t really think Ne-Yo is slept on cause he has successfully crossed-over to pop and he all his albums sell Platinum, plus the records he writes for others are hits…I just think people don’t make a big deal about him as much cause he doesn’t put himself out in the spotlight like that. He is not a narcissist…he’s not all about himself and what he can do

What I like about Ne-Yo, his music is so different and none of his songs sound the same. He embodies the versatility of a true artist
@ Civil…..I’m the same way when it comes to artists. I have to give it to that big as.s mid 30 woman named Beyonce. That bish be working especially during a live performance. She sings live and still sounds good when she sings and dances. I still don’t know how she does all of those dance routines, while singing, and having on heels. Kudos…..she is the #1 bish in the game for a reason even though she gets on my nerves by doing too much at times!

I never got the hype about Akeys either. Granted her songs are good (I love un-thinkable) but when she preforms live she sounds..well not that great. Akeys IMO is an average singer with average piano skills. Nothing to rage about

A friend of AK said that the Elements album was inspired by Swizz, but agree that she was rubbing Mashondas face in it. I do love the album though
I will say that Mashonda looked beautiful pregnant and AKeys…..not so much. Between the pimples and the cankles, I don’t see this turning out so well.

Gots to give my Creole girl props!!! I know why she’s able to sing and dance at the same time because she learned to do so as a child. Matt had her going hard…performing in heels and singing. When you learn things at very young age…you can become excellent at it.
