Judge Sentences Lindsay Lohan to 90 Days in Jail; Lindsay Bursts into Tears
Judge Marsha Revel today sentenced troubled actress Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation. Prosecutor Danette Meyers called witnesses from the Right On Drug & Alcohol Rehab to show that Lohan was not in compliance when she failed to attend 9 alcohol education classes in direct violation of Judge Revel’s orders.
Meyers was ruthless when grilling Rehab co-owner Cheryl Marshall, who confirmed that she did not report any of Lohan’s absences to the court. Meyers testified that she did not believe it was her responsibility to report Lohan’s absences. Meyers said she worried that she would be held liable for violating Lohan’s rights.
Lohan was also ordered to wear a SCRAM alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet. The monitoring agency reported a violation to the court during the MTV awards last month. A subsequent blood test was negative for alcohol.
Lohan was ordered to enroll in alcohol education classes in 2007 after being charged with a DUI. The judge pointed out that it took Lohan 3 years to complete a 1½-year program. Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, argued that while Lohan was not in compliance by missing 9 education classes, she would have completed the program on time this month.
A tearful Lohan addressed the judge, saying she didn’t realize she was out of compliance and she did everything she was supposed to do. “I’m not taking this as a joke. It’s my life and my career. I thought it was OK that I missed those classes.”
The judge was not moved by her tears.
In making her decision, Judge Revel pointed out that Lohan had not been in compliance with a previous drug treatment program. The judge said at that time, Lohan used the paparazzi as an excuse to miss prior education education classes.
“I couldn’t have been more clear,” said Judge Revel. “Nowhere did I say that she could attend classes whenever she felt like it.”

I actually feel bad for her. She’s such a lost soul but this is the tough love that she needed. I hope she gets the help that she needs and comes back better than ever. Hollywood seems to welcome its lost souls back with open arms, she’ll be ok.
I just can’t muster any sympathy for her. She got so many chances. She thought she was invincible and could do what she wants. and then she has all these enablers saying nothing is wrong with her…its clear she has some kind of problem whether alchol or drugs…

You live and you learn. She NEEDS tough love. Everyone around her enables her. Including people who shouldn’t like her very own parents. She needs her life straightened out, this doing drugs crap will kill her! The judge did a good thing she needs to realize she is still regular ol Lindsay and has to follow the law-it’s not Hollywood were you can do what you want.
She looks thrity and ashy. Jail will will be great for her. She will get out with a new lover from the joint, of course. They will last less than 30 days because her trusty guy friend Sam will be jealous and will will want to claim his/her spot. Then Lindsey will make another flop of a movie and star in a reality show. Then the E! channel will proclaim that LL is back!!
Then she’ll get caught with a couple of grams and this cycle will repeat itself. Its the white hollywood way.
She’ll never make it if she doesnt dye her hair back red. Why else would anyone want to see her, besides to heckle her LOL

Yeah she didn’t see this one coming I guess. The judge had no choice because she was being looked at by the media and if she let her off soft everyone would of had a fit..

@Anna, the judge found that she was in violation of her probation and sentenced her to 90 days in jail and 90 days at an inpatient rehab upon her release from jail.
And why is it when celebs get sentenced to jail they get a few weeks to get their affairs in order (more like get their last party in) If it was one of us we would have been dragged out of that courtroom before the judge banged the gavel 0_0

The sheriff just said a female inmate must serve at least 25% of their sentence. That means she only has to spend 22 days in jail, minus the time already spent in jail. Then she will probably find some loophole to avoid the inpatient rehab.

UPDATE: Sheriff’s spokesperson Steve Whitmore just explained … generally, a female inmate in Lindsay’s situation only serves 25% of their sentence … which means LiLo will most likely spend around 23 days behind bars.
I hope she gets the help she needs but more than likely she won’t. She’ll be right back out there doing the same thing. I anticipate seeing her on the A & E show “Intervention” in a couple more months. Smh!
They need to make her serve the whole 90 days in jail and then go straight to rehab. Without any stops in between. This young girl looks 40 years old already. She’s going to end up a statistic, without an intervention.

Also, my husband brought up a really good point, he said what is she doing with her life? He said her behavior is totally destructive and she has nothing but idol time to screw up so jail is good for her.

I said in the Lindsay post she needed at least 90 days in jail and 90 in rehab. Unfortunately she wont serve the full term. In her case it is doing her a huge injustice…this could be what saves her life and no shortcuts are needed. She looks at least 38 and she is 3 yrs younger than I am… I
that she does her jail time and rehab and stays sober. It is sad that she has no one person in her close circle who cares more about Lindsay the person, than Lindsay the money making machine. Her parents should be barred from even seeing her while she is incarerated and in rehab. She should have court mandated therapy to help her maintain her sober lifestyle and learn how to make the right decisions on her own.

Anyway, I watched all of this live on TMZ because I had nothing else to do and noticed how when Lindsay went to speak, she was calm and then all of a sudden broke down. She seems unstable. And she asked to have her SCRAM bracelet removed for the 2 weeks she had to turn herself in. If that isn’t a cry for help, I don’t know what is. Why would she want it removed, unless she wanted to get high a few times before going in the clink.
This is another sad story of a child star turned adult gone wrong. I really hope she gets the help she needs. Her whole family seems to depend on her, what a burden to carry.
why do i feel that she wanted this in some way? she is an attention whore to the fullest and i bet somewhere deep down she feels this will make her more famous in hollywood.

Not to be mean, but she needs it. She obviously has no self control. I just think they’ll only keep her for a hour or so and release her due to “overpopulation” like some of these other celebs have done. smh.
@Point, her dad wrote a letter to the judge asking him to keep her out of jail but sentence her to inpatient rehab for several months preferably in the state of New York with family therapy since he’s dealt with the same issues. He’s an attention whore and an asshole but I think he means her more good than her stupid mama. He and her sister were both in court today and LA jails are extremely overcrowded its true that they will release non violent criminals, and truth be told, they’ll release violent ones too they just don’t mention that part but because of the last time and what happened with Paris having to serve her minimum sentence, I have a feeling Lindsay will be in there at least the 23 days or whatever this time. Her dad also mentioned in the letter that the 84 minute sentence made LA county jails the laughing stock of the criminal justice system, I think he was thinking that would keep them from putting her behind bars to avoid that, he also requested that they monitor her prescription drugs. I honestly would rather have seen her serve 6 months in a residential treatment program but jail will hopefully scare her straight and put her in the right frame of mind to accept treatment when she goes this time. She’s way too talented for this

It’s not like she is going to be spending time w/the general public. Even the Ex Mayor of Detroit had his own jail cell w/a shower and a phone in his cell. If she pulls a “Paris Hilton” who was having anxiety attacks she will spend her few days in the infermary/psych ward.

Al- I’m not saying she shouldnt be punished. I am not a drinker, and I have been hit myself by a drunk driver (no car; just my body..) I have no sympathy for that.
I have empathy for Lindsey because she will be the poster child for all of Hollywood that “never gets there due” according to the masses.
She has not killed anyone. Whether that can be followed by a “yet” or not, she has not done it. Minority Report-ish of people to be all she could. I could. I speed.
Jail does not help substance abuse. How many repeat offenders do we have to see to convince us otherwise?

Hopefully, some jail time will do her some good. This is what she needs. She is so young and if she doesn’t make a change QUICK, she will be dead in no time. And, her dead beat parents aren’t much help. Those two are a train wreck, so I can only imagine what it was like growing up with them. Children from dysfunctional homes like that usually end up just like this or worst.
BTW, I feel bad for laughing at those pictures. She is crying and her lawyer isn’t paying her a bit of attention. LMAO.
