CAPPED: Oil Stops Flowing into the Gulf

BP finally choked off the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday — 85 days and up to 184 million gallons after the crisis unfolded — then began a tense 48 hours of watching to see whether the capped-off well would hold or blow a new leak. Engineers will monitor pressure gauges and watch for signs of leaks elsewhere in the well

Rep: Reports That Rihanna Talking to Chris Brown Are “Absolutely Not True”
This is why I don’t get my news from blogs. There was a report that pop singer Rihanna reached out to her former lover Chris Brown after his fake breakdown on the 2010 BET Awards. Brown was convicted of beating Rihanna the day of the GRAMMY Awards in early February 2009.
Someone in Chris Brown’s camp put out the fake rumor that Rihanna called the convicted woman beater to console him. But Rihanna’s rep calls the report a bunch of lies.
We were all a little shocked when we heard that pop star Rihanna was back in touch with her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown but it appears that the news was a little too weird to be true.
According to Gossip Cop, the “Rude Boy” singer’s rep calls the claims that she is talking with Chris “absolutely not true.” Maybe it was all just wishful thinking on Chris’s part.
The rumor, initially started by a “source” in Heat magazine, claimed that the 22-year-old singer was touched by Chris’s tearful tribute to Michael Jackson at the BET Awards and had begun text messaging him. The source even went to add that Rihanna wanted to have a “face-to-face meeting” with the “Forever” singer. Of course, that would be nearly impossible since Chris has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Rihanna during his five years of probation. Read More…
Upcoming Events: Alex Gidewon’s Invite-Only Birthday Bash
Everybody’s talking about Alex Gidewon of AG Entertainment’s ultra private Grand Finale birthday bash at an intimate spot tomorrow night. The party is ultra private at an undisclosed location.
The guest list includes the upper echelon of the music industry: Akon, Young Jeezy, T.I., Jason Geter (Grand Hustle), Kenny Burns, Bu (VP A&R Def Jam), Coach K, Chubbie Baby (promoter), Kinky B (Jeezy’s manager).
According to the invite that’s just going out today, the dress code is strictly hard bottoms, suited & booted for the men, while the ladies dress code is “Sex in the City” chic. There will be an open bar for everyone and Alex is giving all his celebrity, industry friends a table with 5 or 10 bottles each. Invited guests will be given a bottle of Moët when they walk through the front door.
Alex has already ordered up 250 bottles of Moët (the club only holds 225 guests). So if you’re invited, you get a bottle. That’s how serious it is!
This post is for industry insiders to be aware that the invites are going out late. So if you know Alex’s number, call him and get your name on the list. If not, you can read about the party on my blog on Friday.
Remember: Strict dress code. Definitely everyone must be dressed to the nines. No ball caps or athletic gear. If T.I. is putting on a suit for his boy then everybody should!
Nicki Minaj Embarrasses Trey Songz On His Own Track
Teh Ghey singer Trey Songz probably wishes he never asked rapper Nicki Minaj to jumping on his homoerotic track, “Bottom Ups”. Nicki Minaj is getting major props for her rap contribution on “Bottom Ups”. The blogosphere has been buzzing about Nicki and not so much about Trey, who was out shined on his own track. I’m hard to please, but even I like Nicki’s flow. Even the legendary MC Lyte praised Nicki Minaj’s flow while ignoring Trey on his own track. Trey has to be mad!
This is how embarrassing it’s gotten: someone made a video of just Nicki’s verse on the track — cutting Trey out completely.
