Celebs Out & About: Janet Jackson, Christina Milian, Brad Pitt, Heidi Klum, Chad and T.O.

Is it just me, or is the lovely Janet Jackson aging rapidly before our very eyes? It seemed like Janet was sipping from the fountain of youth. What happened? Janet was spotted hiding behind her bodyguards while arriving on the set of Tyler Perry’s latest film, ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf’, in NYC yesterday.

We know in our heart of hearts that music producer The Dream is lying about his failed marriage to pseudo-singer Christina Milian. We know that they concocted their break-up story to help boost the poor sales of his album, Love King, because just last month she was helping to promote his album on Twitter.

Christina was recently spotted out & about with the couple’s baby daughter, Violet. That sly smile on Christina’s face says it all.

Stern Fines Cavs Owner $100K; Criticizes LeBron James and Jesse Jackson

The NBA has fined Cleveland Cavaliers majority owner, Dan Gilbert, $100,000 for his emotional “open letter” to Cleveland fans.

NBA Commissioner David Stern said Monday that team owner Dan Gilbert’s words, “though understandable, were ill-advised and imprudent.”

He also came down hard on former Cavaliers star, LeBron James, for his over-the top, narcissistic handling of his departure from Cleveland. James, who joined the Cavaliers straight out of high school and played forward for the team for his entire career, announced his decision to leave the team during a much-ballyhooed ESPN special Thursday entitled “The Decision.” [link]

In a press conference which was posted on the NBA’s website Monday, Stern said that James was “certainly entitled” to leave the team, but he would have advised the basketball star to handle his departure and announcement differently.

“I think that the advice that he received on this was poor. But his performance was fine. His honesty and his integrity I think shine through, but this decision was ill-conceived, badly produced and poorly executed,” Stern said.

Stern also criticized civil rights leader Jesse Jackson for comments he made saying Gilbert’s letter showed a “property-owner’s mentality.”

“Equally imprudent I believe are the remarks by my good friend Jesse Jackson, which purport to make this into a racial matter… he really is mistaken,” Stern said.

Obama Already at Odds With Petraeus Over ‘Islam’ Doctrine

U.S. president Barack Obama is already at odds with his new Army general in Afghanistan over his ridiculous “Islam’ doctrine.

You may recall back in April when Obama issued a directive to strike the words, “Islamic extremism” and “Jihad” from all national security references. Well, it seems that Petreaus wasn’t paying attention.

Since taking office in January 2009, Obama has continuously reached out to Muslim countries. He has praised Islam and its contributions to the American way of life. And in a controversial directive, Obama encouraged the head of NASA to reach out to Muslims.

But The Washington Times reports that Obama’s official policy of banning the word “Islam” in describing America’s terrorist enemies is “in direct conflict with the U.S. military’s war-fighting doctrine now guiding commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan.” [link]

In fact, General Petraeus sees no distinction between Islamist insurgents and terrorism. To him they are one and the same — and that’s going to pose a problem for the 1st Muslim president of the United States.

The Petraeus doctrine refers to “Islamic insurgents,” “Islamic extremists” and “Islamic subversives.” It details ties between Muslim support groups and terrorists.

Larry Korb, a military analyst at the Center for American Progress, says it is incorrect to link Islam to terrorism.

“Once you attach a religious thing, you’re basically saying somehow or other this is caused by the religion,” Mr. Korb said. “Most Muslims are not that way.”

But Gen. Petreaus doesn’t believe the link between Islam and terrorism should be ignored.
