Wendy Williams Grills Chad Ochocinco About Shortage of Sistas On His Show
NFL star Chad Ochocinco was grilled by talk diva Wendy Williams on her show yesterday. She told Chad she watched a DVD of his dating show last weekend and she was “insulted and offended!” at the shortage of sistas on the show.
Ochocinco immediately jumped on the defensive, saying: “It’s a funny issue for people to even question what I like.” Ochocinco’s narcissism reared its head when he said basically, damn what you like, it’s my show and I’m going to appease ME! Well, good luck to Ochocinco because his show is garbage and I’m sure it will be cancelled soon.
By the way, a little birdie told me that Chad reached out to one of Twitter’s rising stars last night. Word is Ochocinco got in contact with stripper-turned-blogger, Zeralyn Ford. I don’t know what they chatted about because their conversation was private. But it’s interesting to me that when men find out a woman is bisexual, they pursue her even more!
Chad isn’t the only star taking an interest in our Zeralyn: ‘The View’ co-host Sherri Shepherd started following Zee on Twitter.com out of the blue last week. Does that mean Zeralyn will soon be a guest on ‘The View’?

I’m American. You’re exactly right, no one can change their race. Also midgets can’t change the fact that they’re a midget but you don’t see them complaining when people of regular height don’t want to date them. Changeable or not people have preferences.
I don’t know if he ONLY dates outside his race but if he does then that’s his choice. Like I said earlier who are we to tell him who to date? If this is, in fact, the way he thinks then he has issues but regardless he can still date who he wants and at the end of the day there is nothing we can do to change that.
To me, it’s not about who and what he likes. He is a nobody to me. He’s not even fine, it’s just that we are the only race that get on a public forum parading our lusts for others around like it’s some type of trophy. You would never see any other race parading other races of women around that don’t look like them. Why? I believe that a person is allowed to have a preference. I don’t think we as black women should be upset when brothers decide to date outside the race. The whole trophy white girl syndrome stems from the days of slavery, when black men could not look a white woman in the eye, so of course some misguided men feel like they have “arrived” if they have a pink toe on their arm.
So if someone has a preference, they aren’t going to date anyone that deviates from it? Isn’t that a bit limiting? If you like dark-skinned brothers, and you meet a man who is light-skinned and he’s a wonderful human being, you’re going to pass him by because he isn’t dark-skinned?

I think what you said about the dolls was great because the key point in all of this is that the world (although it is most noticeable in America) is viewed thru the eyes of white supremacy. It is so the norm that most don’t even realize that it shapes our everyday views and lives.

This is my ONLY problem with men who date outside their race. You can like what you like, but don’t put ALL black women down at the expense of your preferences. Our habbits and preferences are shapped by our early influences and experiences. Ocho is not bi-racial….he was birthed and raised by a black mother, we assume. so what happened in the inbetween time. that his preference switched?
If black men continuously state they have a preference in dating outside their race other races begin to look at black women as a plaque. In turn it shortens her dating pool of other races. To add insult to injury not only will they state they have a preference when no one understands the preference “they (self-haters) say “oohh its because the AA woman is angry, ghetto a gold digger and uneducated”. When its a fact that other races have coined this phrase (gold digger) from the beginning (marring rich) and black men uses it as an excuse to date outside the race. It saddens me to think that they must look at their momma’s and sisters the same way. The media places stigma’s and the AA man perpetuates the stigma’s. Hence all the black girls on the show fitting the sterotype. But, I digress.
It adds to the fact that other races only allow their children to date with-in their race. Arranged marraiges are to keep the bloodline pure. Inter-racial dating occurs frequently now but, other races are not as watered down as AA’s.

The point I’m trying to make is that MAYBE, just MAYBE, some people (regardless of their color) aren’t attracted to black women because they aren’t attracted.

Like I said the other day MTV and VH1 mostly (98%) of the time have a BM on their shows that doesn’t like BW. Even on Ray J last show the majority of the women were non-BW. They want to make non-BW feel beautiful the way the rest of society loves to do. I’m confused though because I heard his kids are by BW so he must have not always had this preference, I guess it must have come with the fame

@OTB I understand what you’re saying but I don’t like when black women say that just because a black man wants to date outside of his race then he “hate himself” or “he’s been brainwashed by the white man” or “he’s ignorant”. That to me is where the stupidity lies in this argument. I’m not saying that you feel this way but judging by interviews, comment, and specials that have been done on the subject, a lot of people do. If a man makes it his duty to NOT date within his race, for whatever reason, there are some serious underlying issues that should be addressed but to attack ALL men who date outside the race is absurd! Men who think like that are not ones you want to date anyway so who gives a dam.n about what they think or who they date. People tend to make an issue out of it when it really isn’t their issue to deal with. Let that delusional man deal with that himself.
Let’s take my brother for instance, he’s dated black women all his life. Dated them in all colors and sizes. Then one day he introduces us to his new gf who is white. He isn’t with her because he’s fed up with black women or because he thinks white women are prettier but because he was exposed to different races when he went to basic training for the Army. He chose to explore what possibilities were out there.

Ok, good. We agree that at some level there is a NATURAL attraction to physical features. That’s great.
Now, although for YOU, you might not exclude someone based on skin tone. Cool, BUT you WOULD EXCLUDE someone based on another physical feature. Whether it’s weight, height, penis size, whatever. There is SOMETHING PHYSICALLY out there that would put a nigga in the “friend” zone. And it has NOTHIG to do with “society.”

You bring some good points to which I reply that yes, we come in all shades, yet, there are few of us that could convingly “pass” as another race. Some… but few.
That being said, again, some people just aren’t naturally attracted to black women. Be it their skin, hair, facial features… whatever.
Now, should this person not even be aware that said woman is black and only loses their attraction once they find out that she is black, then you have a point.
*sigh* I’ve beaten this topic like a drum on blogs, and with friends alike. Its something that really gets me worked up, but I’m slowly tappering off of it….for reason that i won’t even bother get into to.
Maybe its because I don’t have a specific preference. However, I do give anybody who EXCLUSIVELY date outside their race the side eye. I’m as open as they come, but its just me. We talk about preference when it comes to race….but what are the deeper reasons for the preference. I say that as someone who’s attracted to blk guys, whyte guys, hispanic, etc…..but then again…i was just attracted to the person and not their race. I’ve had friends who dated exclusively white….but to me as well as other friends, it was quite obvious that they had some problems within themselves. I don’t want to call it self hate…but it was clear there were some issues there.

If there was a balance in society of what is beautiful and what is acceptable…this would be a none arguement. but you know that it’s not. But it’s easy to say “What’s the issue?” or “It’s not my issue when you can’t speak on a direct experience with racism or intra-racism rejections.
If you lived ina community and everyone’s lawn was in superb condition and then you had one or two people in that community who decided not to adhere to how to keep a superb lawn…and their lawn looked like crap…this would make the entire community loose a little bit of it’s umph.

I understand where you are coming from. Really, I do. I think a lot of the ignorant statements that BM make that exclusively date others make are a result of being attacked. Not necessarily because they “believe” them.
I’m sure you are aware that any successful black man that isn’t married/dating a sister usually gets the side eye or poor treatment from the sisters in general.

that comment about there being black men who are naturally not attracted to black women because they may not be attracted to that skin or hair or whatever kind of goes back to the whole self-hating issue. if you have the same skin or hair, why would you find that to be unattractive on other people? there’s something going on subconsciously in that case. i mean yes, it IS natural to be attracted to people who look like you. hasn’t that been studied? i see the beauty in my features and in the features of other races which is why i’m an equal-opportunity dater- black men, white men, etc. it doesn’t matter to me. i have a slight preference for black men because i am black and they share my features-features that i love and that are beautiful. idk i think one issue that i have with these black men who have these outside “preferences” or who date exclusively outside of their race is the fact that they are the only ones who are up in everyone’s face about it. most white men would never exclusively date outside of their race and of the ones that do, you never see them running around talking about it. you look at music videos for white artists and the main girl is always white then you look at videos for black artists and the main girl is always hispanic. i laugh when black men defend themselves about this because it only shows how weak they are. i see this with a lot of minority men in general but black men are probably the worst and it’s sad.

I totally agree…lets keep it 100% everybody were all adults on here.
