Multimedia personality LaLa Vazquez, left, dutifully kept her nightly appointment with the paparazzi at Katsuya restaurant last night. Apparently, LaLa loves the attention she receives from the paps. What exactly does she do besides being married to a NBA star? I need to know so I can continue to justify posting her pics. LaLa and tennis star Serena Williams attended the 10th annual Harold Pump Foundation Gala at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California yesterday.
Rapper/actor Bow Wow posed at the premiere of his movie “Lottery Ticket”, in Hollywood, California last night. Bow Wow managed to smile, though his heart must have been breaking for his mom, Teresa Caldwell, whose Taste boutique was seized by the state of Georgia dept. of revenue yesterday.
Ciara Abruptly Cancels Her Appearance During Atlanta Gay Pride Weekend
Well, that was quick: according to a press release, pseudo-singer Ciara’s signature had barely dried on the contract before she politely backed out of her commitment to perform live during Atlanta’s Black Gay Pride weekend.
The news comes as a surprise to all who planned on traveling to Atlanta to see Ciara perform. CiCi was set to join a lesbun studded lineup, including Nicki Minaj and Amber Rose, whose appearances have been confirmed.
We can speculate all day why Ciara suddenly got cold feet. But we here at Sandrarose.com don’t engage in petty speculation.
According to a press release sent out by Traxx Atlanta and Sean Biggs Entertainment — Traxx Atlanta are “in talks” with R & B recording artist Ciara hoping that she will [change her mind and] “join the likes of LiL Kim, Nicki, Monica and Trina (just to name a few) that have graced [Traxx] in the years before her.”
Now, earlier this week, it was confirmed that Ciara was set to appear at Gay Pride. So what happened?
A Traxx Atlanta rep made this cryptic statement (was he referring to Ciara?):
“I really need to talk to any one that would have a problem with our line up. With prop 8 being shot down again we don’t need our black public figures discriminating against gays and leisbens [sic].”
This year Taxx is set to see over 45,000 people which will make it the largest single gay festive event the nation has ever seen. Atlanta Black Gay Pride takes place September 2 through September 7th.
Angelina Jolie Defends Shiloh’s Tomboy Style… Again
Apparently actress and philanthropist Angelina Jolie must be feeling the heat from critics of her 4-year-old daughter’s tomboy style.
As Shiloh makes more public appearances wearing hand picked boy’s polo shirts and khaki pants, her mother is spending more time defending the little girl’s style.
In an interview with British mag Stylist, Angelina said:
“It’s not my choice. I have a very strong willed four-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is.”
“I think children should wear what they want and express themselves, so we give them different options of things.”
Angelina used her adopted 5-year-old daughter, Zahara, as an example: “Zahara dresses very much like a girl, very pink and flowery, very feminine.”
On the topic of Shiloh’s boyish pixie haircut, Angie said:
“Shiloh cried and said, ‘Please cut my hair off, I don’t want to have long hair.’ I’m not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should. I want to do what’s in her head and what’s in her heart is to dress like that. I think it’s beautiful.”

Halle Berry: ‘Gabriel and I will be together forever’
I hate to say this, because I think she’s kinda fly, but Halle Berry just might be a little off.
Halle responded to the rumors about her breakup with her sperm donor, Gabriel Aubry, in the September issue of Vogue magazine. I posted a few excerpts from the interview below.
Peep the last paragraph where she comes off sounding a little stalkerish.
As I wrote in my comments section, I’ve never met a strikingly beautiful chick who didn’t have subtle or overt mental issues. In my experience, most, if not all scorchers are a little off in the head.
Their instability might not seem obvious upon meeting them. But give it a while, and their emotional issues will become very apparent. That explains why they seem to stay chronically single.
Halle Berry speaks out for the very first time about her breakup with long-time boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey earlier this year. In Vogue’s September issue, the 44-year-old Oscar-winning actress, mother and cover girl was candid in her first formal interview in three years.
She commented about the current state of tabloid culture and the biggest misconception of her. “That I am this brooding, twisted, lovesick person who just can’t get it right in life. Every story about me is so heavy and dramatic. That’s not how I do life,” Berry told the magazine. She adds: “As if I’m still stuck in all the muck of the past. And I am so not.”
Later in the interview, Berry cleared the air on what really happened with Aubrey, with whom she has a daughter Nahla. “By the time [the breakup] hit the papers — full of rumors and lies, with people having to make up problems between us — Gabriel and I had long dealt with it. We were done,” she said. “And we were on a good foot.”
Though the two remain good friends and continue to raise their daughter, Berry had a revelation of sorts. “You realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody. We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together,” the actress shared. “And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us.” More excerpts here
Who Knew Dr. Laura Was Racist?
Controversial author and talk radio therapist Dr. Laura Schlessinger showed her true colors during a racist rant against a caller yesterday.
When a sista called into her radio show to complain about her white neighbors’ racist reactions to her interracial marriage to a white man, Dr. Laura showed no compassion or understanding. When the sista mentioned the use of the n-word, Dr. Laura went off.
“Black guys use it all the time,” she said. “Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic and all you hear is ‘nigger, nigger, nigger.’ I don’t get it. If anybody without enough melanin says it, it’s a horrible thing, but when black people say it, it’s affectionate.”
When Dr. Laura welcomed the same caller back from a commercial break, the caller, who is black, informed Dr. L that she was insulted by her casual use of the n-word.
Dr. Laura immediately jumped on the defensive. “Oh, then I guess you don’t watch HBO or listen to any black comedians?,” she seethed.
She went even further by including Barack Obama in her rant: “Yeah, we’ve got a black man that’s president and we’ve got more complaining about race than ever. I mean, I think that’s hilarious.”
Dr. Laura then attacked the caller for not manning up, telling her she’s got a chip on her shoulder. The call quickly went South with Dr. Laura spewing more racist hate and abruptly disconnecting the caller.
She then made a sweeping comment about interracial marriages in general, saying “Don’t marry out of your race if you’re that hypersensitive about color.”
She later apologized once the sh*t hit the fan.
Update: State Dept. of Revenue Seize Bow Wow’s mother’s store

It has been confirmed that Taste boutique in Atlantic Station was seized by the state department of revenue for non-payment of state taxes.
Taste is owned by Teresa Caldwell, mother of rapper Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss. I take no pleasure in writing this story. I know I sometimes poke fun at a lot of celebrities in what some may say is a malicious manner. But ultimately, our jobs as bloggers is to report celebrity news, negative and positive.
Due to the recession, the last five years has seen record increases in IRS levies and seizures, and the IRS has the entertainment community in its cross hairs. Rappers have bragged for years about their monetary wealth while showing off their flashy cars and expensive jewelry in music videos. Well now the IRS is listening and taking notes.
According to HipHop blog, the IRS has formed an “issue management team” with the goal of scrutinizing unclaimed tax money from athletes and entertainers. With the information they’ve collected, the IRS has cast a wide net and reeled in some big fish, such as Wesley Snipes, Young Buck, Wyclef Jean, Method Man, Foxy Brown (who owes almost a mil), Xibit, Fat Joe, and others.
