BREAKING: T.I., Tiny arrested for drug possession
According to online reports, rapper T.I., real name Clifford Harris, and his wife, Tiny, real name Tameka Cottle, were arrested in West Hollywood last night and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
T.I. was released from a federal prison in December 2009 where he had been serving a 12-month sentence on weapons charges. The rap star served out his sentence in a halfway house in Atlanta.
He is currently serving a three-year probation after pleading guilty in May of 2009, for attempting to purchase machine guns and silencers before the BET Awards in 2007.
This latest arrest could jeopardize his probation status.
The car the couple was riding in was pulled over after police smelled marijuana emanating from the car. According to a credible source, T.I. and Tiny were the only two arrested though there were others riding in the car with them.
“It sounds like a set up to me,” said the source this morning. “There was a bunch of people in that car. Why just take them two?”
The pair, who married last July in Miami, were taken into custody by L.A. County Sheriff Deputies. It is unclear if they are still in custody.
T.I. and Tiny have two children together, King, 5, and Major Harris, 2. Tiny also has a daughter, Zonnique, 12, from a previous relationship, who is home-schooled.
T.I. currently has the #1 movie in America, Takers, which took in $20.5 million at the box office in its opening weekend.

This is the first I’ve heard of anybody else being in the car. And if only TI and Tiny were arrested then they had the “controlled substance” in their possession where it was clear to the officers it belonged to them.

Once everything checks out, they move from behind you and start the process all over with someone else. The point I’m trying to make is, if you’re fresh out of the clink and don’t have the intentions on going back, don’t give anyone a reason to detain you period. seems like they were pulled over on a routine traffic stop. Routine in my neighborhood is completely different then routine in Hollywood. I was pulled over recently supposedly for a routine seat belt check but they checked all my paperwork as well. Anywho, they seem to be out on bail now, so we shall see.

Yes, mabye your husband was speeding or violated a traffic law…and if thats the case, then hell yea pull me over…Take me for example, Ive been pulled over at least 6 times I can count. where I was held on side the road for 45min at least, and was never given a reason why I was pulled over…it makes one think. What other reasons are they pulling me over?? I havent violated a traffic law, I dont have warrants, insurance, tags and registration is all good…and the first question the cop ask you is are you in probation??? Im far from a thug, and just looking at me, one wouldnt assume I was on probation or a felon…but thats routine for them…Everytime Ive been pulled over…yes everything, another squad car came to the scene.. Mind you I have no criminal record, and only been arrested once when i was 20 for a speeding ticket that turned into a warrant when i was 18. As I said before, we all know that corrupt policemen exist in cities and towns all over the USA and the world. But like it or not, we can’t paint all cops with the same broad brush of crookedness just because there are some who abuse their position of authority. There will always be bad cops, but what’s the alternative? Disband all police forces in America because some innocent citizens have gotten fvcked over? Since that would be illogical, all we can do is police the police when we suspect some shady activities going on.
I don’t necessarilly believe every cop that arrests a black person needs to be fully investigated unless there is reason to believe the arresting officer(s)have done things to arouse suspicion. And just being a member of the LAPD isn’t a good enough reason because individual police officers should get the benefit of the doubt and be considered innocent until proven guilty just like the rest of us.

1. LA does not arrest for simple weed possesion nor do they give you a felony. The only way you’re getting arrested is if you get outta pocket or have enough to distribute. Its a misdemeanor in LA unless you have over a certain amount.
2. If those 2 got arrested out of everyone then those 2 were the ones in actual possesion. Again this wasn’t about weed otherwise the whole car would’ve gone in cause there’s no way to tell who actually had the blunt and was smoking on the scene unless someone admitted ownership.
3. This may have started with weed odors but didn’t end that way. There is more to this story. Key words “felony possesion of a controlled substance” if it was a simple rx drug thing I doubt they both had rx drugs in unmarked bottles or that were prescribed for someone else.
I’m waiting for the full story as well but I have to use my common sense along with the knowledge I already have and I can’t say this was a mixup, setup, or misunderstanding. Tiny if convicted will likely get rehab and probation, CA has a law protecting drug offenders and reducing non violent criminals in the jails, they don’t send them to jail for simple possession unless its crack. TI on the other hand is on federal probation, even if his charges are dropped he can still be sentenced for violation and sent back for even being in that situation especially if he pisses dirty and they will be testing him

Both of their simple asses need to take responsibility for their personal choice to use and carry drugs in public knowing that they’ve both been busted before, knowing they have children they are responsible for and knowing the risks they were taking. But I’m not gonna build up a conspiracy set up theory either, especially not with these two who’ve done this before smdh

Regardless of why they pulled him over, they found what they found. Typically when they plant evidence they don’t do it with high profile people in sight of witnesses and that can be easily proven with a drug test because based on the bail amount it wasn’t enough to say distribution. c. LA cops are bad, crooked and all yes, I’ve had repeat problems with them and I’m a female. I’ve been thrown down with guns drawn for sitting in my car on my lunch break (they tried to say it was stolen) in front of my job where I was the only black person at the time. I also don’t have any type of record. Anyway, I get what you’re saying, you are right but this is not a typical DWB and planting of the evidence case. I can’t ride with you on this one”

I MERELY QUESTIONED the motives of the arresting officer. No more, no less.
At least you didn’t blindly accept what the officer was saying. Which should NEVER be done, no matter how bleak the circumstances appear.
