Gabrielle Union shared a normal photo of her stepson Zion Wade, 12, on her social media account over the weekend.

Union, 47, posted a series of photos that show her, Zion, and her toddler daughter, Kaavia, posing next to a backyard tree decorated in Christmas lights. She captioned the images, “Family Time Is The Best Time.”

In the Christmas photos, Zion appears to be a normal 12-year-old boy. The new images are in contrast to the provocative Thanksgiving photo she shared on Instagram.com that showed Zion wearing a crop top, leggings and acrylic nail tips.

His appearance, which was clearly inappropriate for a minor child, sparked a massive backlash against Union and her husband, retired NBA star Dwyane Wade, on social media.

Many called Wade an unfit father. Critics said the issue was not Zion’s assumed sexual identity. They accused Wade and Union of exploiting an emotionally troubled child for their own selfish benefits.

The criticism must have struck a nerve with Wade because the 37-year-old sports analyst hit back, telling concerned social media users to kindly mind their own business.

Union posted the controversial photo after she was fired from NBC’s America’s Got Talent. She later accused the show’s founder, Simon Cowell, of sexism, and she accused guest judge Jay Leno of racism.

After a 5-hour meeting with NBC and lawyers representing Cowell’s Syco last week, Union deemed the meeting “productive”.

She allegedly said Cowell’s staff claimed her hair and clothes were “too black” for the show’s audience.
