fanMAIL: AXE – Clean Your Balls

Loyal reader Jazmine Jackson writes*:
Hey There Sandra,
I’m a loyal TIP fan and yeah he’s making some super stupid mistakes but has Axe even seen their new tv commercial??? The one talking about washing your balls?!?!?!? I’m a grown woman (26 years old) and while I did laugh at the commercial when I saw it my mouth was dropped in awe too. What kind of message does Axe think they’re putting out there? Hell, kids know what balls are and they know da** well they aren’t talking about the golf balls and basketballs they’re scrubbing in the commercial. Furthermore, it’s a body wash so how in the hell can you be talking about washing basketballs, volleyballs and golfballs?!?!?
Axe needs to axe themselves for that because although the commercial is funny and entertaining to my grown a**, it’s suggestive to children.
These companies kill me with their hypocrisy. Axe ALWAYS uses sexually suggestive ways to advertise… I guess selling and suggesting sex is cool but what TI has done isn’t acceptable according to AXE. The trouble that TI has gotten himself into is bad but if AXE wants to cut him then they need to cut their suggestive add campaigns too.

What is the deal with Jay Z Signing a 9-year-old to a record deal?

Yesterday, American Idol host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, announced on his Twitter page that veteran industry mover & shaker, Jay Z signed 9-year-old Willow Smith to a recording contract with his Roc Nation Records. Willow, whose club flavored debut single “Whip My Hair” dropped on the same day as Rihanna’s “Only Girl in the World”, was a guest – along with her “rep” Jay Z — on Seacrest’s radio show today (click above to listen).
In a statement released yesterday, Jay Z said:
“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow. She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious. It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.” [link]
Willow’s mature, heavily studio-enhanced sound, drew ridiculous comparisons to Rihanna, which was obviously planned from the outset.
Everyone knows that Jay Z guided Rihanna’s career. And the fact that Jay Z is a close friend of the Smiths — and even produced the Broadway musical Fela! along with Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith — proves that this move is calculated to jump start the career of a 9-year-old who should be allowed to grow up normally.
The announcement that Willow Smith is signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation Records came as no surprise. What is surprising is the level that narcissists Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are willing go to pimp their precocious children to the world.
And even worse, Jay Z comes off looking like a pedophile pimping a small child for his own selfish purposes.
AXE Considering Axing T.I.’s Sponsorship Deal

According to TMZ.com, the corporate arm of AXE body spray products is considering dropping rapper T.I. as a spokesman.
Although T.I.’s image still graces the company’s website, TMZ reports that AXE is not happy with the news of T.I.’s arrest for possession of the controlled substance ecstasy.
A rep for AXE tells TMZ they’re “troubled by [T.I.'s] arrest” and have been forced into “reviewing our promotional activities” with the rapper. Translation — it doesn’t look good for T.I.
T.I. — real name Clifford Harris — locked down a deal with AXE earlier this year after promising the company that he was “working to become a more positive role model.”
T.I. will be alright. Everyone makes mistakes. The road to redemption is littered with the souls of those who never made it. It is a tough road to walk. At least he wasn’t arrested for domestic abuse.
Obama: Qur’an Burning ‘a recruitment bonanza for al-Qaeda’

U.S. president Barack Obama has finally weighed in on the planned Qur’an burning story that has drawn attention from all over the world.
The plan to burn 200 Qur’ans by the Pastor of a small church in Florida to commemorate the anniversary of Sept. 11, has sparked worldwide outrage and condemnation.
In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America which aired this morning, Obama called Rev. Terry Jones’ planned bonfire a “stunt” and he cautioned that burning the Qur’ans would prove a bonanza for al-Qaeda recruitment.
Obama reiterated the statements of Gen. David Petraeus, the top US commander in Afghanistan, who earlier this week said the planned burnings would endanger the 120,000 U.S. and NATO-led troops still fighting in afghanistan, and it would give the Taliban more fuel for propaganda purposes.
But New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has joined a small group of public officials who uphold Pastor Jones’ Constitutional rights to burn the Qur’ans.
“I don’t think he would like if somebody burned a book that in his religion he thinks is holy. … But the First Amendment protects everybody, and you can’t say that we are going to apply the First Amendment to only those cases where we are in agreement,” Bloomberg said, citing the section of the Constitution that promises freedom of speech. In an interview with CNN’s AC360, Pastor Jones dismissed the criticism from politicians and religious leaders, saying his message targets the radical Islamists who continue to plot terror against the United States.
Referring to the absurd threats of violence from radical Islamists over the burning of a book, Jones said, “The general needs to point his finger to radical Islam and tell them to shut up, tell them to stop, tell them that we will not bow our knees to them.”
It seems that the same people who shrugged off pleas for sensitivity in connection with the planned NY Mosque now plead for sensitivity in the case of the Qur’an.
Lakers Star Arrested and Charged With Domestic violence

NBA player Matt Barnes, who earlier this year signed a $3.6 million contract with the LA Lakers, was arrested yesterday and charged with domestic violence, according to CNN.com.
As you know, Barnes and his baby mama Gloria Govan, who starred on the 1st season of the hit reality TV show Basketball Wives, were engaged to be married. But all of that ended when Barnes signed that lucrative deal with the Lakers and he suddenly realized his worth.
The incident occurred at his Sacramento home Wednesday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s department said.
Police say someone in the home dialed 911 but the call ended abruptly. When police arrived at the home that Barnes shared with Govan, both parties had “visible injuries.”
“When deputies arrived, they made contact with 30-year-old Matt Kelly Barnes and the adult female who he lived with and with whom he had a dating relationship,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement. “While both parties had visible injuries, Barnes was determined to be the primary aggressor and taken into custody.”
He was booked on felony charges of domestic violence and maliciously obstructing the use of a telephone line.
He posted a $50,000 bond and was released from jail Wednesday evening, the sheriff’s department said.
His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 13. Barnes played for the Orlando Magic last season.
Video: Gucci Mane and DJ Holiday Talk ‘Appeal’ and ‘Jewelry’

Rapper Gucci Mane, who was let out of an Atlanta jail earlier this year, will drop his new CD titled The Appeal on Sept. 28.
But in the meantime, he’s pushing his new mixtape hosted by DJ Holiday titled Jewelry Selection.
“The mixtape came out, 700,000 downloads in, I think, 30 minutes,” Gucc told MTV News. “Some people say it’s my best mixtape ever. There’s definitely a lot of songs that I could have put on my album on this mixtape. Something just to get the people ready to know that I’m coming. I don’t want them to be surprised when they hear my album how slick and clever I am on the mic. It’s just a prelude.” Read more

“I gave you nothing but classics, so it’s only right I give you the preview of the mixtape. It was very imperative we did this mixtape for the streets,” said producer DJ Holiday, who recently had his own brush with the law.
Holiday, who I practically raised like a son, sat in jail overnight when the po-po pulled his car over in the early hours of Sept. 1st for speeding. Normally, the cops would have let him go with a warning. But Holiday, real name Robert Avery, must have had a prior warrant or something.
Anyway, doesn’t DJ Holiday take the cutest mugshots?
Updated:
to add Gucci Mane’s remix of chris brown’s “Deuces”. The track was leaked online just a few minutes ago by DJ Drama.

“This project for me is very special as I am able to experiment with a different sound and show my fans and supporters the growth from what they remember me as,” says Que.
