Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, 35, will be arraigned on Monday in Los Angeles for misdemeanor drug possession -- the same day her husband, rapper T.I., 30, is due to turn himself in to start serving an 11-month sentence at an Arkansas prison.
Cottle's arraignment and T.I.'s incarceration both stem from a Sept. 1 traffic stop in West Hollywood. Police arrested the Atlanta-based newlyweds on suspicion of drug possession but only Cottle was charged. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Monday it would not prosecute Clifford Harris Jr., the rapper's birth name, despite finding four ecstasy tablets on him.
That decision was reached in part because of the jail time facing T.I, 30. He was ordered to return to prison on Oct. 15 for violating his probation on weapons charges. [link]
Tiny will most likely avoid jail time on the misdemeanor charge. It isn't clear if she plans to be in court for the arraignment or if her west coast counsel will represent her.
U.S. President Barack Obama yesterday confirmed the presence of explosive material in two packages mailed to Jewish synagogues in Chicago from Yemen and Dubai.
In a hastily arranged press conference, Obama said suspicious packages found on board UPS and FedEx cargo planes were a "credible terrorist threat" against the American people.
British investigators found an ink toner cartridge that had been "manipulated" to look like a bomb on board a UPS cargo plane when it stopped in London on Thursday.
Tests on the cartridge were negative for explosives, leading some to speculate that this may have been a dry run by al Qaeda -- or an attempt to distract the media from focusing on the predicted Democratic losses during the midterm elections in the U.S.
U.S. President Obama was advised of the terrorist threats late Thursday.
CNN and CBS says there may be a dozen more suspicious packages bound for the U.S.
A Joint Terrorism Task Force source tells CBS News that investigators are looking for between 10-20 packages shipped out of the UPS office in Sanna, Yemen during the same time frame.
In case it wasn’t obvious, the initial investigations resulted from a tip, not routine security processing, according to CNN [link]
UPS has grounded all cargo planes in the U.S., and both UPS and FedEx have suspended service from Yemen to the U.S.
Locally, security has been stepped up at Hartsfield Airport.

Edited to add this fierce pc of your girl Kim Kardashian rocking a faux fox fur vest and a Hermes handbag today. Kim and her sister Kourtney were seen leaving their NYC hotel while filming scenes of their reality show spin-off Kim and Kourtney Take Manhattan.
Our favorite Kardashian sister, Khloe, may be a successful TV star and business entrepreneur, but she tells Life & Style Weekly magazine, that she is still tormented by memories of her past.
Khloe, who was spotted yesterday buying jewelry in Beverly Hills, said she was called 'fat' and 'ugly' by other kids throughout her childhood and it was the love of her sisters that saved her.
She says: "Having someone in your class call you fat, ugly, too tall and so on, you start to think all those things about yourself. And if you're like me, those words are played on repeat inside your head. Khloe says it was her family that saved her from despair during the most difficult period of her life.
Her petite and super-slim sisters Kim and Kourtney were the very people who saved her from feeling terrible.
"When I was at home, I felt loved and safe. My sisters were always a safe haven for me. I knew they would always play with me and make me feel like I was one of them." [link]
Khloe grew up to be more statuesque and beautiful than her skinnier sister Kim Kardashian who struggles with self-esteem and body image issues.
It's because Khloe remains humble that she has become the favorite among fans who watch "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" every Sunday.
In a video she made for an anti-bullying campaign, Khloe targeted celebrity blogger Perez Hilton as a bully who tormented her for most of her adult life: "I've been bullied, basically, my entire life. I've been compared to my sisters since the day I was born. I don't look exactly like them... I'm bigger than them, but I'm me...I'm just always told how big I am... It's always something.
"I've always struggled with my weight, I've always struggled with my height, with my hair colour, with my skin colour... and Perez is a major factor (of bullying) in my adult life... I thought bullying would be done, but, in my world, it's not done."
She added: "No matter what, you can always work out of it, you can always move past it. I don't think anybody should ever take their life for being bullied."

There's a new controversy brewing for the Democrats down in Florida -- and it may involve racism.
According to Hotair.com, Democratic Senate candidate Kendrick Meek, who is black, was given a talking to by former president Bill Clinton about dropping out of the Senate race so his friend, independent Governor Charlie Crist, could win.
Clinton himself confirmed that he spoke with Meek about dropping out of the race -- twice.
“He was trying to determine what was the best thing for him to do,” Clinton said in an interview with CNN’s Susan Candiotti Thursday. “I knew it was being discussed, people had discussed it on and off… it was no secret.”
Clinton allegedly told Meek to do "what he thought was right" because he thought Meek didn't have a chance of winning.
Meek supposedly agreed on three occasions to drop out of the race, but he changed his mind after his wife convinced him that he could win.
So why is Meek now saying Clinton never asked him to quit? "[Clinton] didn't ask me to drop out of the race,'' Meek told Fox & Friends. "Kendrick Meek was never dropping out of this race, is never dropping out of this race, and will never drop out of this race."
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has already raised the issue of race in the matter. Mr. Steele, who is African-American, said the effort to persuade Mr. Meek, who is African-American, to quit sends a “chilling signal to all voters, but especially African Americans.” [link]
Yesterday I posted pics of troubled singer chris brown wearing a hawt pair of Winter boots. Allen over at Upscale Hype identified the boots as Dolce & Gabbana leather heavy duty boots (approx. $688). These black heavy duty boots are from the Fall/Winter 2010 Collection and feature lace fastening with a round cap toe.
Pop legend Janet Jackson appeared on BET's 106 & Park yesterday to promote Tyler Perry's new movie 'Colored Girls'. Janet talks about a new book she has coming out in which she admits having low self esteem. She also talks about being an early developer and having her breasts bound on 'Good Times' because she was too mature looking for an 11-year-old.
The audience went crazy when Janet walked out wearing her favorite butt pads. Co-host Terrence J couldn't contain his excitement. Too bad Janet still can't act to save her life. And don't you wish Janet could be genuine and drop that fake voice and just be herself?
