Kanye West’s Cover Banned?

According to producer Kanye West’s tweet over the weekend, his new album cover was banned in the USA.

The cover features a painting of what looks like a black man reclining on a blue chaise lounge while holding a bottle of beer. The man grins leeringly at the viewer while being straddled by a mythological winged creature (that looks suspiciously like a white woman).

“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!” Kanye wrote on his Twitter page.

But was the cover really banned before the album is even released? Or is this yet another lame attempt by a troubled man to garner more attention than he deserves?

I think I’ll go with the latter.

sandra he probably submitted it to the record company and they was like we cant put this in walmart. like he said its not different from the album covers from the 70s and a piece of art. i dont really see anything wrong with it. i think they can just put a sticker over it on the wrapping of the cd and that should solve the problem since its just a tiny pic in the middle of the cover it can be easily covered. then when u unwrap it you have the real cover.

I remember when Kanye was allabout black this and black that, why is he all of a sudden only choosing white women now. He is so backwards. I liked him better before. Seems the fame has taken a hold of him and i wouldn’t buy the album with this title. The one with the head and knife going through it was fine enough in my opinion.
