T.I.’s Wife Tiny Charged with Drug Possession

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, 35, will be arraigned on Monday in Los Angeles for misdemeanor drug possession — the same day her husband, rapper T.I., 30, is due to turn himself in to start serving an 11-month sentence at an Arkansas prison.

Cottle’s arraignment and T.I.’s incarceration both stem from a Sept. 1 traffic stop in West Hollywood. Police arrested the Atlanta-based newlyweds on suspicion of drug possession but only Cottle was charged. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday it would not prosecute Clifford Harris Jr., the rapper’s birth name, despite finding four ecstasy tablets on him.

That decision was reached in part because of the jail time facing T.I, 30. He was ordered to return to prison on Oct. 15 for violating his probation on weapons charges. [link]

Tiny will most likely avoid jail time on the misdemeanor charge. It isn’t clear if she plans to be in court for the arraignment or if her west coast counsel will represent her.

This is one of the most tragic and saddest things. Now their children will be without thier daddy again and have the possibly face ridicule from school mates (unless they are homeschooled). I don’t follow them enough to know, but it’s a shame. I feel sorry for the children and family that have to suffer through having a loved one addicted to drugs. I hope they both get themselves together so they can become better examples to their children. I know we all make “mistakes,” but damn!

@ajonesy she won’t do prison time for a misdemeanor drug charge in la county. They don’t send nonviolent drug offenders to jail because of a law out there. She’s gonna have a fine, possible rehab and more than likely community service.

She can’t be the one doing it because she is too busy chasing T.I. all over the country 5 days a week. Those kids probably have to think a minute to recognize both of them.

Misdemeanor??? I thought possession of Xtasy was considered a Class 5 felony because it’s a narcotic?? In the state of Virginia X possession is a Class 5 felony.

This is sad and unfortunate…Not only does these children have to deal with their father leaving them a SECOND TIME; they have to idlely stand by, patiently waiting to hear about their mother’s fate. At what point do you think about your actions and how your actions can directly and/or indirectly affect your children? Clearly, these two (Clifford and Tameka)focus more on being reactive vs proactive. Don’t get me wrong, I am far from perfect however I am a firm believer of accountability. Despite the decisions you’ve made, good or bad- OWN UP TO THEM! Most importantly, you have to learn from those mistakes. If these two turn out to have a substance abuse problem, I pray they get the help they need for the sake of their children.

I feel bad for those kids just for the fact that their parents are a couple of losers. At least the older ones have a better chance, because they have a different mother. The two babies, don’t have a chance. Their parents are never home anyway.
