T.I. – “God did all the work, I just showed up”
Rapper T.I. called into local radio station Hot 107.9 this afternoon to discuss his heroic efforts in talking a troubled young man down off the ledge of a midtown office building today.
The incident occurred around 4pm today when police received 911 calls reporting a man sitting on the roof of the 22-story Colony Square building where, ironically, Hot’s rival station V-103 is located.
T.I., who gave the man a brief pep talk after he was talked down off the ledge by police, bristled at rumors and gossip that the entire crisis was a stunt to impress the courts (T.I. has a probation revocation hearing on Friday):
“I can’t plan this! How can I plan this? I don’t see how it could be thought, believed or assumed that I am in any way trying to manipulate this situation,” said T.I.
“You say ‘well, OK, he has this situation, yada yada, yada.’ Ok, fine. Who you got without a situation [that showed up] to do something?,” he said.

Yes you helped with saving a man’s life ( not like the man was serious in killing himself anyway ), but what’s up with driving around doing drugs??????

This is a great example of how God can use you to be a blessing to someone else even while you are going through. Tiny tweeted last night that T.I. was shooting a video today. It is not coincidence but only God that T.I. was able to help this young man and speak words of life to him. As a supporter and long time fan, you don’t just give up on people because they make a few mistakes. You condemn the act but still love the person.
So two days before TI is sentenced. He just so happen to be in the same area, at the same time as a suicide victim AND as a civilian was allowed to assist in him not jumping
Maybe Tiny was tweeting to make sure there was a crowd and media not far when this was suppose to go down
And the fact that this was done at a radio station that just so happen to get the exclusive first interview with him following his “heroic” act
I hope this didn’t create a traffic jam for people trying to get home to their loved ones.

You are blessed to be living a financially stable life, given preferential treatment from the law system and you go and violate probation because you just had to pop a pill. Ya’ll can believe this mess if you want to. That guy is one of TI’s cronies that he sent up there to act a fool, so that he can tell the judge that he has influence over young ppl’s lives and he can make a difference. TIis nothing but an opportunist. I wish they would just lock him up for 10 years minimum. Because, everyone else without money would be in jail hunting booty as we speak.
I am glad the man did not jump. On the other hand, I have never heard a civilian interfering with police business to talk someone down, let alone, a black man. They have officers that have trained for this type of situations. TMZ said T.I. heard what was happening on the radio, and called the radio to ask if it was something he could do. The radio station probably said, “yeah, why don’t you come down here and talk the man down, and afterwards, we can set-up an interview. So, he wasn’t walking by, looked up, and behold, a man was on the roof. He called before he came to the scene.
Either way, two things happened: a man didn’t jump off the roof, and T.I. helped save a man’s life. If it was a stunt, and T.I. does not pay this man, I am sure we will hear about it.

Hubby and I think this was a set up to try to make T.I. look good for his probation violation hearing tomorrow. Why didn’t he just check himself into rehab? That would have really helped in more ways than one.
We just love to throw stones don’t we?! Only this boy, TI and God know if this suicide attempt was real or staged. While pointing fingers we overlook the fact that a troubled young man attempted to end his life! Young black men are in “crisis” mode right now, no one believes or understands their pain or struggle. Most celebs in trouble do check themselves into rehab for “Brownie Points”. How many black celebs have a PR team that advise them to do this? I can’t think of any. Tiger Woods went to rehab but the only court dates he had were “divorce”.

When has it ever been Tip’s motive to create publicity…shyt always happening to him anyway throughout his entire career, so how all of a sudden now that he has done some good, its made out to be a stunt?? I hope that is not that dudes way of life in the industry, he is one of the only few left in the game that I believe is somewhat truthful.

I hate when people say that because a person “Attempts” suicide they aren’t suicidal. What kind of sense does that make. A guy on a tall building about to fall, would really do this for TI. He could have fallen or anything. Just because he didn’t Jump doesn’t mean he is not troubled or “really suicidal. Society is so unempathetic towards others and thats really a shame.

listen, I was a hostage negotiator for when I was in law enforcement and part of our training was for suicidal individuals. There is no way, I repeat, NO WAY that law enforcement should ever let stuff like this happen if just for liability purposes.
A lot of suicidal individuals who consider attention grabbing way to off themselves, like jumping off buildings, would love nothing more that to add celebrity attention to their send off so if this was a real jumper I just don’t see how any trained negotiator team/official would have allowed T.I. to get anywhere near that scene. I guess the police operate different there
