Loyal reader Barbie asked if I could do a write-up on the fantastic performances on BET’s Black Girls Rock special which aired 2 nights ago. Unfortunately, I missed it. But here’s the video of Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosius, Jill Scott & Ledisi singing “Four Women”. They put it down! I’m so proud of our talented R&B singers. I must have watched this video 15 times!

Hope all is well, Sandra!

Please, oh please put a write-up on the BGR performance by Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosious, Jill Scott, and Ledisi. They performed the heaven and hell out of Four Women, originally done by Nina Simone.

I’m telling you that this performance is newsworthy, award worthy, and pure CHURRCH. Even an atheist would believe in a higher power after listening to these ladies showcase their art. Because there’s no way that those sounds are simply trained vocals, they are melodious history and divinely inspired.

Also, regarding RHOA, would you please get the scoop on Kim’s “assistant?” Not since Butterfly McQueen’s portrayal of enslaved Prissy in Gone With the Wind, have I cringed so at a black woman being assailed and belittled by a white woman. Does this “assistant” think that she’s got a lucrative position?

Personally, I don’t believe for one instance that Kim actually likes black folk. She’s given reasons ad infinitum as to why one can draw this conclusion, but perhaps none as much as how she treats her employee/slave impersonator. Would she pull that mess with Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm? Me thinks not.

Anywho, as always I’m loving the blog!

Take Care and Thanks for Reading!!!!!
