Is Phaedra Parks a Liar?
Episode 5 of Real Housewives of Atlanta sparked a new round of criticism toward the resident lawyer and self-professed ‘Southern belle’ Pahedra Parks. It seems Parks can’t keep her lies straight.
In episode 4, didn’t Parks say she first met her husband, ex-con Apollo Nida, in college? How can that be if she’s 38 and Apollo is only 30?
Also, in episode 5, which aired on Monday, Phaedra had difficulty remembering her due date.
Parks also said her doctor planned to induce labor 2 weeks early. Why would a doctor induce labor when it’s not medically necessary? Normally a doctor will wait until after the due date to induce labor.
Phaedra answers the question on the show: she said she asked her OB/GYN doctor when was the earliest date that she could safely deliver her son.

There are various techniques that doctors can use to induce labor. All of them carry health risks.
According to a close friend of Parks’ who asked to remain anonymous, Phaedra wanted the baby delivered early to coincide with the shooting schedule of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”.
As you know, Bravo’s cameras were in the delivery room when Parks gave birth.
Many of Phaedra’s friends believe she married Apollo — and quickly got pregnant — in order to be cast on the popular reality show. But is a reality show really worth risking the health of your baby?
It is if you’re a narcissist (Please note: I’m not saying that Parks is a narcissist).
I hear that local prominent judges and attorneys are still fuming that Phaedra didn’t inform them that she was marrying an ex-con straight out of prison.

@Sandra…. I have a question. I remember some photos of Phaedra that you posted (July 2009/October 2009) at I think it was Tiny’s party and another event. She didn’t look PREGNANT to me at all, but then again, people carry pregnancies different. NOW…I’m not sure when the RHOA stopped taping, but didn’t she had the baby in MAY … which in my head means that if she carried the baby FULL TERM, that should have been her DUE DATE (9 months)… which meant she would have gotten pregnant around AUGUST…when did she get married?…maybe my math is off, but I had TWO babies and got in a fight at 8 months with my youngest one and they tried their DAMNDEST to keep her inside of me…cause they said she WASN’T READY YET..so I can’t imagine them telling her she could kick that baby out at 6months… :sideeye:

Sorry Sandra but doctors will induce you before your due date. I don’t have children but do have a 14 year old brother and if memory serves me correct my mother was induced maybe 2 weeks before her due date b/c the doctor said the baby was healthy and ready to come out and b/c she wanted he and I to have the same bday. My bro is 03/14 and I’m 03/15. Anyway, I’m just saying you can be induced earlier. It happens everyday all day.

@Topic Sandra, I go 2 – 3 weeks early because the drs can’t risk me going into labor naturally however with my first I was damn near 3 weeks overdue before they were willing to induce (at which point they realized its impossible for me to deliver naturally
) but at 6m pregnant I went into preterm labor with my last and they would NOT take her, she stayed in me until 2 1/2 weeks before my due date. So yes drs will induce a couple weeks early if neccesary or if the baby is healthy but not earlier than that, the last few weeks are when the lungs finish developing and no dr is going to risk a baby that way

I watch the show and here is my take on the situation. Phaedra clearly has low self-esteem, which will explain why she takes pride in turing her nose up and everyone and putting them down for their short comings. She said ” she and Apollo met while she was in college” which means absolutely nothing…meeting and dating are two completely different things. Now Apollo has been in prison for 6 years…men have trouble going six days without sex…so Im sure during his process of earning his degree in college (prison) he engaged in a little male on male action. So everyone’s assumption is correct they did both meet while they were in college…LOL! It doesn’t take a fool to see that their marriage is one of connivence. Perhaps the “southern bell” was impregnated by someone other than Apollo and things didn’t work out. She needed to blanket the her bad situation (being a preachers kid and about to have a baby out of wedlock) and decided to take this very attractive (DL)man that is down on his luck, marry him and provide for him all for what you say…a little attention. Maybe she should see that she has a brown complexion, wide nose and chemically treated hair like most of the people she surrounds herself with…and then maybe she should research a true southern bell,learn that they conduct themselves with a certain decorum, dont have to marry a light skinned dude to validate their self worth and dont take pride in downing other ppl to make themselves feel better…and thats my word for the evening…back to you Sandra!

While I agree the entire that she is a habitual liar, i was scheduled to be induced two weeks early. i was very uncomfortable due to my pelvis shifting, not medically needed, but i wanted it. It just so happens my water broke the day before I was to be induced…so that may be the only truth…
Sandra……I had my baby two weeks early. Not because something was wrong, but simply because the doctor said it was safe and I could pick what day I wanted to have the baby. I was told by my doctor that after 37 weeks, the baby is full term!

We live in a very litigious society. I refuse to believe doctors induce labor 2 weeks early without a good medical reason. Malpractice insurance is too dang on high.

I assure you this was the case. I begged my dr to induce me earlier because i was so uncomfortable I could barely walk…but it wasnt a necessity so she made me wait until I was 37 weeks to schedule. I was scheduled 04/22/2009, but my water broke and i delivered 04/21/2009. My due date was 05/05/2009.

This show is strictly comedy. Im very ashamed that is the group of women that represents the “elite society” of Atlanta.
I really don’t watch this show but as far as old girl saying that she’s being induced 2 weeks early I can believe it. I just had my little girl two weeks early this past July. I told my birth team that I didn’t want to be pregnant anymore so they stripped my membranes (which is considered a form of induction) and I went into labor the following day. But I was already 2 cm dilated. I don’t know if they are going to induce her using medication or manually but as long as she’s dilated at least 2 cm and the baby’s weight is appropriate it should be ok.
Some woman ask to get induced early so they can pick their baby’s due dates but it isn’t very natural and induced labour I’ve heard is A LOT more painful than just waiting for your baby to come naturally.
I don’t think women would choose to induce just for the chance to control the due date. They induce in most cases( outside of medical reasons) out of pure discomfort. In my case I was sick of being kicked in my ribs 24/7 and falling cause the baby was putting pressure on my siatic nerve every other day.
He seems to be a PRO. He must have learned that ish in prison.
