Obama’s Mumbai Trip Will Cost Americans $200 Million Per Day!
Yesterday the Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives in an election tsunami that some are calling the biggest Democratic losses in 62 years.
It’s a good thing U.S. President Barack Obama rescheduled his Mumbai, Indonesia trip until after the midterm elections, or the Democratic losses would have been much worse.
You already know about the 40 commercial airliners and private jets that will transport Mr. and Mrs. Obama and an entourage of hundreds to Mumbai, India next week.
Well, now comes word that the Mumbai trip, where Obama plans to speak at a Muslim mosque, will cost Americans $200 million per day!!
I’m sure the thousands of unemployed Americans who are set to lose their benefits next month will appreciate this news.
Mr. Obama rescheduled this trip to Indonesia twice from earlier this year, due to the political climate in america, which angered the people of Indonesia where Obama spent his boyhood studying the Qu’Ran. (Besides his native English, Obama speaks fluent Indonesian.)
You’ll be happy to know that your $200 million per day will be spent on “security, hotel stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit,” according to a top government official. The Obama administration has booked all 300 rooms in Mumbai’s 5-star hotel.
In addition to the extra security flown over from the mainland, U.S. and Indian Navy ships will patrol the waters off Mumbai, to provide additional security, reports said.

I seriously doubt this for the simple fact that Faux News would have been all over this. Everything you read on the internet isn’t true.
Should the President not travel? Or is it that he supposed to stay in a hotel in the hood? Or is it that he not allowed to travel with security? Or is it that he is not allowed to visit predominantly Muslim countries? What is the complaint here? Don’t all presidents have global travel?

It could very well be true. Who knows, but who cares? His travel costs what it costs for a President to travel. He needs LOTS of security and the white house has a press corps. He can’t travel commercial. His travel doesn’t cost any more than any other president. Sandra is mad becuase she discriminates against Muslims. She doesn’t want him going to a Muslim country at all. THOSE PEOPLE aren’t worth us spending money to visit.

Now they will bicker and accomplish absolutely nothing for the next two years. I’m tired of all of them. Its a game to them. None of them give a damn about us. PLEASE…I’ve been to Mumbai twice and I dont think I spent $5000 (US)total. I don’t know anywhere on the planet that you can spend 200 million dollars a day to live. Mars….different story. Has anybody been to Mumbai; it was the worst traffic I’ve ever been in. I’ve lived in NY and DC and been to LA.

I actually looked after renegadesince1985 mentioned the source. It goes back to NDTV which appears to be a credable enough Indian news site. They are quoting an annonymous source from within their country. And when they started talking about the Navy supposedly being summoned because The Man was going to be there and various other security precautions I could see the price tag being very high. But it is no differant than what any other president would require.

I agree with this too. Remember all the great ones are celebrated long after they have left office or have died. In the future obama will get all kinds of credit after the fact. Unfortunately there are alot of people who are just ignorant and cant understand the timeline of when a policy or law is passed and how long it will take effect or reap the benefits…

That’s a very good question! You’re right; that is the hotel where the bombings took place. Indonesia is where Obama grew up and went to school. it’s where he learned the Koran. So going back there will be like a homecoming to him. He swears he’s not Muslim yet he speaks their language fluently. I’m sure he doesn’t think $200 million per day is a lot to pay for his homecoming. Watch what happens when he goes back there next week.
