Celebs Out & About: Mary J Blige, Meagan Good, Christina Milian, Kim Porter

R&B Diva Mary J Blige performed live at O2 Arena in London, England yesterday. You may recall that the late Michael Jackson was rehearsing for his 50 gig tour at this same arena when he died.

Before hitting the stage, Mary was spotted leaving the uber trendy restaurant Mr Chow Chinese food restaurant with friends in London. Doesn’t she look cute without makeup on?

Actress slash socialite Meagan Good partied at Trousdale Nightclub in Los Angeles with her pals. I could be mistaken, but isn’t that her lover on the right?

Transgendered ‘male’ will continue to play for women’s team

I’m sure by now you’ve heard about Kye Allums, the transgendered ‘male’ who plays for the George Washington University women’s basketball team.

Allums, who changed her name from Kay-Kay to Kye, identifies as a man even though she has not had the sex reassignment surgery nor is she taking male hormones.

Under NCAA rules ‘he’ can continue to play for the women’s team because ‘he’ has not had the surgery and is not taking hormones.

So what we have here is a chick who looks like a chick — who still has all her functioning chick parts — but she wants to be called a man now. And she, excuse me, he plays for a woman’s team.

If that’s not confusing enough, Kye says “My teammates have embraced me as the big brother of the team. They have been my family, and I love them all.”

So all you have to do now is say you’re a man and that’s it?

Oprah Winfrey made this trend popular when she had that pregnant woman on her show calling herself a pregnant man.

I’m trying to be sensitive here, but I have a problem with a man choosing to play for a woman’s team. Why not try out for the men’s team? He/she can’t have it both ways.

Obama’s Mumbai Trip Will Cost Americans $200 Million Per Day!

Yesterday the Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives in an election tsunami that some are calling the biggest Democratic losses in 62 years.

It’s a good thing U.S. President Barack Obama rescheduled his Mumbai, Indonesia trip until after the midterm elections, or the Democratic losses would have been much worse.

You already know about the 40 commercial airliners and private jets that will transport Mr. and Mrs. Obama and an entourage of hundreds to Mumbai, India next week.

Well, now comes word that the Mumbai trip, where Obama plans to speak at a Muslim mosque, will cost Americans $200 million per day!!

I’m sure the thousands of unemployed Americans who are set to lose their benefits next month will appreciate this news.

Mr. Obama rescheduled this trip to Indonesia twice from earlier this year, due to the political climate in america, which angered the people of Indonesia where Obama spent his boyhood studying the Qu’Ran. (Besides his native English, Obama speaks fluent Indonesian.)

You’ll be happy to know that your $200 million per day will be spent on “security, hotel stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit,” according to a top government official. The Obama administration has booked all 300 rooms in Mumbai’s 5-star hotel.

In addition to the extra security flown over from the mainland, U.S. and Indian Navy ships will patrol the waters off Mumbai, to provide additional security, reports said.

Antonia “Toya” Carter Celebrates Grand Opening of GARB Boutique

Last week a loyal reader asked me why I didn’t post anything about the Grand Opening of Antonia “Toya” Carter’s boutique. Well, thanks to ATLien, I can post the pics from the event.

In addition to being a reality TV personality and an Atlanta socialite, Toya can now add entrepreneur to her growing resume!

As you know, Toya is one part of the popular “Tiny and Toya Show” on BET, which I hear is going to be revived now that Tiny’s husband T.I. is back behind bars until at least next Summer.

George Bush Responds to Kanye West’s Publicity Stunt

In a recent interview with Matt Lauer, former president George Bush says Kanye West’s 2005 post-Katrina rant: “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” — cut him deep.

In the “Matt Lauer Reports” interview, which will appear on Monday, November 8 on NBC, Bush said Kanye was the racist when he uttered his now famous words on live television.

“I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now. … I resent it, it’s not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency,” said Bush.

Lauer replied, “You’re not saying that the worst moment in your presidency was watching the misery in Louisiana. You’re saying it was when someone insulted you because of that.”

Bush, who is promoting his new book, quickly clarified his statement that Kanye’s publicity stunt was just one of the “tough moments” of his presidency.

“I also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply as well,” said Bush. “There’s a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a disgusting moment, pure and simple.”
