Recap: ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ 11/14/10
This season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reality TV series is entirely scripted and even more fake than the previous 2 seasons (if that’s even possible).
2 weeks ago I received an email (as did TMZ, apparently) from a supposed loyal reader informing me that Sheree Whitfield’s $133,750 Aston Martin was repossessed by her attorneys for failing to pay them $80,000 in attorney’s fees.
Recognizing an obvious publicity stunt to drive up ratings, I ignored the email. The next day the story was all over TMZ and the blogs. It’s obvious that this episode was sponsored by Aston Martin.
Anyway, I fell asleep on last night’s episode of RHOA, but Rodney Ho of the AJC’s Radio & TV Talk blog took the time to watch last night’s episode and give his readers a rundown.
Sheree spends the episode prepping, then doing a sexy rumba at a charity event called “Dancing Stars of Atlanta,” which was held in mid-May for the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia. All the ladies minus Phaedra Parks (prepping for her baby’s imminent arrival) show up.
Though Sheree is being her usual diva-like, over-confident self, she actually pulls it off. The editors made it seem like the other housewives weren’t all that impressed (one said it wasn’t that tough of a dance) but she did get 9’s from the judges. Plus, she raised more than $5,000 for the charity, although she felt her housewife castmates were a bit chintzy.
And good news for us: Tiy-E Muhammad, the “love doctor” (but not the real thing), is still in the picture, despite his seeming lack of real wealth or interest in it. Sheree said he’s out of town for the charity event but trailers show him popping up next week. And in episode eight, Sheree finds out the truth about him. (I guess she didn’t Google his name because the facts about him faking his credentials are readily available online. The AJC wrote about it several years ago.)

I had to stop watching it…I felt like I was getting dumber and dumber.
I couldn’t believe how CHEAP NeNe and Kim were being for the charity event. If all you could donate was $20 then you had no business even showing up!
I recorded this yesterday, haven’t gotten a chance to watch yet. I guess it’s one less hour of my life to waste

It was a definitely a snoozer. I was shocked too by the $20 donation for women who are supposed to be so wealthy and fabulous. Kandi should have followed her own mind and gave more……
I’ve started watching it because of the funny statuses on facebook and because I wanted to see how Phaedra and Cynthia would work out.

Every episode I end up wanting to slap Phadrea more and more. She acts like she is so intelligent but ends proving how ignorant she is all at the same moment.My girl Nene surprised me with that $20 donation. I can’t wait until the next episode when Sharee’s bf gets caught up. Sharee’ desreves so much more than him!

@Brown The doctor she is dating used to be a professor at Clark Atlanta and they found out he didn’t have all his credential. If I remember the story well he also got a student pregnant.

@Genie Yep my cousin was a student there and I remember her telling me about it and my family recently brought it up once the show came on.This was like 6-7 years ago because I was still in middle school when it happened.

I still watch (missed it last night tho…) not gonna lie…but WHY on earth…would a reputable attorney…damage her future money making ability to come off as a FAKE FLAKE like Phaedra? For a few Bravo paychecks? When that Bravo money runs out you gonna have to still practice law. I am convinced that is her real personality in that case…nobody would really choose to be portrayed like that…would they?

I like watching RHOA… I think she did nothing on that dance unless they edited out. And as far as them being cheep Kandi lowered herself to not make the rest of them look bad. That Phaedra is the one who makes your IQ drop listening to her. She is really special.

OMG!!! My friend just asked that same THING LAST NIGHT!!! We came to the conclusion that it was Sheree’s idea.
BUT is it me or does her relationship with her children come across as awkward on the show…however let me say I’m sure she is a great mom…her children are seemingly well mannered.
The oldest daughter is doing her thing (except taking her boyfriend to the dentist to get that front tooth fixed)

I watched. Dawn is my favorite. She seems real down to earth. Chanita is that shows “Nene”…always got something going on….she was wrong for how she did Mercedes though…. Sidenote: I didn’t get Mercedes letting that other lady to talk to her like she was her mother…I didn’t get that.

I love me some reality tv but this season of the Atlanta Housewives has been a bit boring. I’m not hating either because my girl is not on there anymore but still it’s just boring. Then they moved it to Sunday at 10pm shoot, I have one eyelid open at that time..no thanks! I have not seen one episode that made me sit up in the bed and say damn she said that! Where is the fireworks? Do better Bravo I’m not impressed.

this show will eventually come to an end. It’s not at all interesting. This isn’t life. No one spends the day going shopping, eating out, dining or charity events all day every day. No one. They need to let Phaedra be an attorney. Thankfully we see Kandi working all the time, but these other ones…..no ma’am.

Oh yeah Sheree; How are you part of the who’s who in atlanta and pretend to not know who Dr. Ty E is? As soon as I saw him in that episode, I was like oh hell naw. ‘That’s the dr she’s talking about?’ He aint no dr. I’m not a part of the who’s who and even I knew that.
Everybody in Atlanta know everybody, and they all talk. Even if you’re not on the radar, you know some people who know people who know other people. This was definitely just for the show. We all saw him on that reality show where his ass couldn’t swim and had to be rescued. Once again he lied and damn near drowned (said he could swim but couldn’t). You may be a little rusty but you never just forget how to do schit.
