Tameka Raymond Receives a Lifetime Achievement Award
Yes, that Tameka Raymond.
Good Afternoon!
Tameka Raymond was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Art Institute of Atlanta’s Passion for Fashion Scholarship Event for her contributions to the fashion and entrepreneur industries. Many people do not know that Tameka attended Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and went on to work in buying offices and before she started styling for celebrities. Tameka is now a proud owner and buyer for her two boutiques, Estella and Estella Home, located in Roswell, Georgia in addition to running her foundation Lost Ones and being a mother to her five boys.

i don’t get all the disdain for Meka. Her and Chilli are about the same age. Meka looks darn good for popping out five babies. She was a stylist/designer BEFORE she met Usher. Chilli whined about the breakup, so did Meka. Not all people react to divorce the same way.

Yes, Tameka is better known as the former Mrs. Usher Raymond; however, old girl had her own successful business before hooking up with him. Hell, that’s how they met — she used to be his stylist. She was Lauren Hill’s stylist during the height of Lauren’s “Miseducation of Lauren Hill’ days. She has also at one time or another styled Patti LaBelle, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Nas and several other celebrities.
I believe she was also one of the partners in her ex-husband’s clothing line.
Tameka’s contributions to the fashion game can’t be disputed. Her personal life ain’t got **** to do with her professional one. And, no I ain’t a Tameka stan; but, folks need to learn how to separate folks’ personal lives from their professional ones. Tameka is well respected within the fashion industry, regardless if she’s a goldigger or not. And, she’s deservedly being honored for her accomplishments within that industry.
I don’t get the Tameka hate/dislike. She had a career before Usher. And still has one.

I’m neither for nor against Tameka. I didn’t even know who she was before Usher knocked up then wifed her.
I just Googled her and, all personal chit aside, I have to say I still don’t know how she’s earned a lifetime achievement award but then I know next to nothing about fashion.
In light of that, I can’t accurately judge Tameka’s contributions to this particular industry so I’ll concede my ignorance on this subject and let her be great. That is all.
Congrats, Miss Tameka!!! It was great seeing her again last night at the For Colored Girl premiere. She is stunningly beautiful and can dress her behind off.

LOL @ ELove, she made Forbes after the divorce. It’s ok, she went after what she wanted, got her man, gave him a couple of heirs and divorced him. She is not the first woman to go this route, and won’t be the last. I bet a buck Larry Kings wife didn’t know she was going to be married for 10+ yrs. She is still waiting for the “til death due us part”. She knows she will get more money in death than divorce. LOL.
