Keri Hilson On Chelsea Lately

Singer Keri Hilson hit up the ‘Chelsea Lately Show’ last night to discuss her 2nd studio album, No Boys Allowed, her siblings, her VIBE cover, how she lost $16,000 in a pickup basketball game to one of R.Kelly’s boys, and how she would never date a rapper.
No Boys Allowed is in stores December 21st.
New Music: Diddy, Dirty Money ft. Trey Songz – “Your Love”
Next week, Sean “Diddy” Combs will drop yet another wack album, this one titled Last Train To Paris. “Your Love” featuring Trey Songz is the latest single in a blizzard of sh*tty singles that Sean has thrown against the wall hoping something will stick.
The money spent promoting this train wreck of an album could feed and clothe a small country.
‘Last Train’ has not received a single favorable review in the press. Everybody knows it’s garbage — except Sean, Dawn & Kaleena. You have to wonder what the clueless executives at Interscope are thinking.
If no one in Diddy’s camp is brave enough to tell him that his latest project is a FAIL, the consumers will let him know on Dec. 14. I love watching narcissists self-destruct on a global scale. This is going to be fun!
Jay Z’s ‘Decoded’ ghost writer dream hampton has cancer

Noted author, filmmaker and cultural critic, dream hampton, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
hampton made the startling announcement tonight on her Twitter page in between promoting her new film covering “Black August,” the yearly tribute concert benefitting political prisoners.
“I’ve been battling thyroid cancer all year. When I’m ready, I’ll write about it,” she tweeted this evening. In a follow-up tweet she wrote, “And I love Aretha more than alla ya’ll rolled up in one,” referring to the legendary soul singer who has pancreatic cancer.
In addition to making a name for herself as the first female editor at The Source magazine, hampton was also editor in chief of RapPages Magazine, and a contributing writer for Vibe, The Village Voice, The Detroit News, Harper’s Bazaar, Essence, among others.
Often described as “your favorite rapper’s, favorite writer,” hampton’s most recent gig was as ghost writer of Jay Z’s NY Times bestseller, Decoded.
In interviews addressing rumors that hampton was upset about Jay Z hogging all the credit, hampton humbly pointed out that Jay Z briefly mentions her in the acknowledgement section of the book.
dream hampton was born in Detroit and lived most of her adult life in Harlem and Brooklyn where she once filmed a young neighbor named Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace for a documentary class.
The two became close friends and Biggie named his only daughter, Tyanna Dream Wallace, after her.
…he was more my smoking partner, my buddy, my best friend. He talked me into having my daughter when I wasn’t sure that’s what I wanted to do. It was a great relationship. He agreed to be my daughter’s godfather. He named his daughter after me, Tyanna’s middle name. And [Tyanna] recently asked me to be her friend on Facebook. I almost cried, and I looked at her info and it’s like Tyanna Dream Wallace and her little interests…skateboarding and bright colors. She’s having a suburban life over in the Poconos. He would be so happy to see his children right now.
hampton publishes her name in lower case letters as a nod to feminist author bell hooks, an early influence. [link]
Kanye West fantasizes about sleeping with the dead in ‘Monster’

Select scenes from Kanye West’s new music video ‘Monster’ hit the web yesterday. We all know the boy is not well, but even for Kanye this video is sick! I wasn’t going to post this since it wasn’t the complete video. But I changed my mind after watching it.
In one scene, Kanye is shown lounging on a bed with a collection of dead bodies lying next to him. He clumsily makes out with one corpse like some kind of twisted, psychotic serial killer. This video suggests that Kanye has an unhealthy obsession with his dead mother — or at least an unhealthy obsession with the dead.
The video also features rappers Jay Z, Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross — who, in another macabre scene, smokes a cigar while sitting in a chair with dead bodies literally hanging around him. If you can’t view this video at work, be thankful!
Kanye’s exceptional CD, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, is in stores now.
Cover Parade: Elizabeth Edwards, Angelina Jolie, Kerry Washington, Celine Dion, Jane Fonda

The passing of tragic political wife Elizabeth Edwards bumped Celine Dion and her twins off the cover of the current People magazine — and rightfully so.
I’m sure Angelina Jolie will go after The National Enquirer with guns blazing after this cover hit newsstands yesterday. Why do they keep trying her? The National Enquirer should know that Angie doesn’t play when it comes to her kids. Not for one second do we believe she raises a hand to those adorable children. Angie is no Kate Gosselin!
The cover also features the National Enquirer‘s exclusive report on Aretha Franklin’s cancer diagnosis — which no one believed until her family confirmed it today.

The gorgeous Kerry Washington – who stars in this month’s ‘Night Catches Us’ – tells L.A. Times magazine she fell in love with political theatre during the 2008 presidential election (Obama has appointed her a member on his Committee on the Arts and Humanities) and how an interest in the arts saved her as a kid growing up in New York City.

“I come from a socially aware family,” Washington says. “Affirmative action or a woman’s right to choose or gentrification—these were things that were talked about all the time at the dinner table.” – Cover Awards

Sad News: Aretha Franklin has less than a year to live
According to FOX 2 News in Detroit, the legendary soul Diva Aretha Franklin, 68, is dying of pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the same disease that killed actor Patrick Swayze.
In a post at PopCrunch, a National Enquirer story (not available online) is cited saying Franklin’s cancer is pancreatic. The same report notes sources saying Aretha has less than a year to live.
“Though the Enquirer is known for its often-outlandish take on unbiased journalism,” PopCrunch writes, “it should be noted that the publication was the first in the world to report Patrick Swayze and Michael Landon’s battles with pancreatic cancer, a disease that has a less than 10 percent survival rate and ultimately killed both actors. They also blew the lid off Christina Applegate’s breast cancer scare in 2008.”
Soulja Boy’s “biggest album of the year” sells 13,360 copies!
Conceited rapper Soulja Boy is somewhere crying in his milk right now. According to Soundscan, Soulja Boy’s much-hyped self-titled CD, The DeAndre Way, sold a measly 13,360 copies!
By comparision, Bow Wow’s album, New Jack City II, which dropped last year, sold 30,000 copies in the 1st week.
Soulja Boy, 20, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, once said this album would be the “biggest” of his career. He relentlessly promoted TAW to over 2 million of his followers on Twitter.
SB even Twitpic’d photos they posted of themselves holding up his album. But it was all for naught. Poor Soulja Boy is one of many clueless celebrities (and other narcissists on Twitter) who think their follower count actually means something outside of the social networking website.
The DeAndre Way spawned the hit single “Pretty Boy Swag,” which peaked at #6 on Billboard and went on to sell over 500,000 copies.
