Sad News: Aretha Franklin has less than a year to live
According to FOX 2 News in Detroit, the legendary soul Diva Aretha Franklin, 68, is dying of pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the same disease that killed actor Patrick Swayze.
In a post at PopCrunch, a National Enquirer story (not available online) is cited saying Franklin’s cancer is pancreatic. The same report notes sources saying Aretha has less than a year to live.
“Though the Enquirer is known for its often-outlandish take on unbiased journalism,” PopCrunch writes, “it should be noted that the publication was the first in the world to report Patrick Swayze and Michael Landon’s battles with pancreatic cancer, a disease that has a less than 10 percent survival rate and ultimately killed both actors. They also blew the lid off Christina Applegate’s breast cancer scare in 2008.”

@Daisy, my daughter’s cheerleading assistant coach has pancreatic cancer and we have watched her health deteriorate the last couple of months. She’s been living with it for a little over year. We are hoping she lasts until Christmas but it doesn’t look good. I cry everytime I see her. Life is a blessing.

This is so very sad
ing for Aretha
Sadly I watched my father die of Pancreatic Cancer. It is a slow and horrible death. It hurt to watch and I am more than sure its 1000 times worse for the patient. Depending on where/how much of the cancer is on the pancreas, they can attempt to remove part of it but if its too far gone then there won’t be much that can be done. She will be in the foulest of moods because of the constant pain. She will lose weight at a rapid weight. Best thing is to prolong the effects is to consume natural foods. But eventually when everything shuts down, she will basically starve to death.
I know a source named Charles who is close to Ms. Franklin and this is not true to his knowledge…..

WDIV is a Detroit tv station. They reported it and that’s where she lives.
This is horrible! Panreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms anyone can be diagnosed with due the stage when it is diagnosed (usually stage 3 or 4). Definitely praying for her.
I pray for her that is really sad to hear and then be told you have about a year to live

It was so heart breaking to know he was walking dead…He was coming to work in his final weeks…and you could see the deterioration from the treatments..it was hard on alot of us emotionally…
damn a nicca got a tear in his eye thinking about it…that chit sucked ass..
Note To Self: If i got a year to live…NO More Treatment for me(just pain killers) I rather Die Happy in 6mo then live miserable for 12.

Yeah he would come up on the weekends and get stuff done and being in IT if he got locked out or something i would come up to the office and get him straight….I think work eased his mind….but physically i could start to see is skull structure and stuff(i think from treatment) but you could tell he was dyin..and it was said…i remember sitting in his office getting he straightened out he was staring out the window and said.

I don’t know if its the treatment that does that or not. My brother died of cancer and he started having the skeletal look from being unable to eat or keep anything down in his last weeks. It is truly a horrible thing to behold and constant in your face reminder that your loved one is leaving.
My prayers are with her and her family. Cancer is no joke I lost my father to an 8 year battle this year. There is nothing like watching a loved one gradually die in front of you.

Feb 2003 I lost my great-grandmother to this. She was 88 and in good health. She had just purchased a brand new car about a month or two before her diagnosis. She died a little over two weeks after they diagnosed her.
She went from being full of life to struggling to keep her bile down. R.I.P. Theo and :prayer: for Ms Franklin and her loved ones
I am not ready for her to gooooooooooooo! Shew. I know her real friends and family feel the same way…Story has it that when I was a little baby full of colic I would cry and cry and cry…and while my parents were trying EVERYTHING…my dad put on his ‘Re records and…I shut up. Ma ‘Re goes off…and I would start again. So I have LITERALLY loved this woman from the crib!!!! My parents played her the entire summer of 1977…and I been in love with her every since!
Per Roland Martin the Fox station in Detroit confirmed she has cancer but didn’t confirm which kind #update bless her heart

@Ace The above just broke my heart. My mom is battling cancer and it’s literally an emotional rollercoaster, for all of us. Life is short and many people just don’t realize how true that statement is. I do my best to live every moment with peace and joy.
I pray Aretha is going to be well soon. She has and will always be my favorite singer of all times. God Bless her family during this trying time.

According to Roger Friedman @showbiz411, he claims Aretha does NOT have pancreatic cancer. At least not “confirmed” via hospital reps in Detroit. Of course that doesnt mean she didnt have pre-cancerous tissue removed from the stomach region. Just sayin.
