Angelina Jolie names first Jolie Legal Fellow
Angelina Jolie, long-time supporter of SOS Children’s Villages, this week congratulated the first Jolie Legal Fellow, Nathalie Nozile, an SOS Children’s Villages alumna.
Ms. Nozile, an attorney, pictured above center with Jolie and Dr. Heather Paul, CEO of SOS Children’s Villages – USA, is an alumnus of SOS Children’s Villages program in Santo, Haiti. SOS Children’s Villages is a global organization dedicated to providing family-based services for children without parental care.
Ms. Nozile was selected after graduating from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law this past spring.
The Jolie Legal Fellowship, created and funded by the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, supports the Government of Haiti’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Haitian judicial system in the challenging post-earthquake environment. Jolie Legal Fellows are attorneys who will concentrate on the protection of Haiti’s most vulnerable children in the judicial system, by serving as special assistants to key Government of Haiti officials. Ms. Nozile leaves for Haiti later this month to begin her work.
“I am thrilled that Nathalie Nozile will be our first legal fellow in Haiti – where the need to enhance child protection is so great,” said Angelina Jolie. “Nathalie has a heartfelt commitment to improve conditions in her homeland, and brings to her work the unique perspective of growing up in an SOS Village. There, she learned firsthand the importance to a childhood of a stable and nurturing environment. Now, as a promising attorney, she will draw on her personal experience as she returns to help strengthen the Haitian judicial system. Nathalie will be working to help ensure equal access to justice and the protection of children’s rights in Haiti.”
Jolie and her life partner Brad Pitt donated $150,000 to the SOS Children’s Villlages in 2010.

50 Cent might be in hot water for manipulating stock prices
Just when you think troubled 35-year-old rapper 50 Cent can’t get any more stupid than he already is — he outdoes himself.
Earlier this week, Twitter was abuzz with the news that Curtis Jackson made an instant $8.7 million in the stock market by urging his Twitter followers to buy shares of penny stock that he owned.
“You can double your money right now. Just get what you can afford” Fiddy tweeted. “They are no joke get in now,” he added.
Jackson reportedly received 30 million shares of H&H stock in a private placement last October. H&H closed at 39 cents on Monday, up 29 cents, netting Jackson’s shares the aforementioned $8.7 million.
But is it really that easy to rake in millions of dollars on the stock market? Of course not. If it were that easy then stock brokers would jump on Twitter giving insider advice to their followers.
According to the SEC website, a broker or investor will spark a federal investigation into their stock trades if they are caught using artificial means to manipulate or raise the price of their stock.
It is likely that Fiddy will never see a penny of that cash. He hurriedly erased all of his tweets, sending his stock plummeting. But it doesn’t matter. I’m sure the feds have all the evidence they need to pursue an investigation.
Maybe 50 Cent should have consulted with his BFF, Martha Stewart, who was convicted of lying about insider trading in 2004.

Celeb Style: Usher in Opening Ceremony Funnel Neck Coat
R&B crooner Usher, 32, was spotted outside his hotel in Berlin, Germany where he’s playing the final leg of his OMG World tour. Usher, who is always laced in the latest styles, wore a nice fur-lined trench coat made by Opening Ceremony.

Usher who is currently in Germany for the last leg of his OMG Tour, was seen arriving to his hotel in Berlin wearing an Opening Ceremony MO08 funnel neck trench coat ($1,380). This khaki and grey trench features a double breasted button front with fur lining the interior and the collar.
Maybe Gucci Mane Really Is Crazy?
Rapper Gucci Mane, who was recently released from a local mental hospital where he was confined for a psych evaluation, made his way over to Atlanta’s Tenth Street Tattoo parlor where he ordered an ice cream cone and 2 scoops tattooed on his face by tattoo artist Shane Willoughby.
In a court appearance earlier this month, Gucci told the judge that he was mentally incompetent to understand the charges against him. The judge agreed and committed him to Georgia Regional hospital for a 72-hour hold.
The 30-year-old rapper was discharged from the mental facility on Jan. 9, with a clean bill of health. He still faces a possible 13 months in prison for violating his probation.

Celebrity Seed: Halle Berry Chosen to Play Aretha Franklin
It’s rare that we get to see 2-year-old Nahla Aubry walking on her own 2 feet since her mommy, Halle Berry, likes to carry her everywhere. Old folks always advise young parents to let their children walk on their own unless they plan to carry them through life (emotionally).
As you know, Halle, 44, was chosen to portray Aretha Franklin in a new biopic on Miss Franklin’s life. I can’t wait to see that! The 68-year-old soul legend broke the surprising news herself when she called into the Wendy Williams Show to declare herself medically fit and to wonder what all the fuss is about her health.
Halle also landed a NAACP Image Award nomination yesterday, along with Willow Smith, Janet Jackson, Rihanna and director/playwright Tyler Perry, who led the pack with 19 nominations.

Pop singer Rihanna and her BFF/personal assistant Melissa Forde were spotted sitting courtside at the Miami Heat vs LA Clippers game at the Staples Center yesterday. RiRi watched the Clippers demolish the Heat 111-105 during a game where the Clippers led by as many as 20 points.
Rihanna was mobbed by her adoring fans waiting outside the Staples Center after the game. Beyonce must be somewhere scratching her lacefront wondering how to derail Rihanna’s surging career. In addition to snagging 2 NAACP Image Award nods for Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (with Eminem), Rihanna also landed her first cover of American Vogue magazine!
“Just wrapped my first American Vogue cover shoot with Annie Leibovitz…Rah! #SEXY,” she tweeted last night. Rihanna becomes the third black female artist to be featured on the cover of Vogue (behind Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson).
RiRi was set for the cover of Vogue in 2009 but the cover was scrapped after nude pics surfaced of Rihanna in a hotel room with then-boyfriend, chris brown.

Britain’s X-Factor finalist Cher Lloyd, 17, gained notoriety on this side of the pond when she was signed to Roc Nation label by Jay Z. Since then she has been riding a wave of hype that she hopes will wash over a skeptical Hip Hop nation. So far, no one is impressed with her… other than Jay Z and Lil Wayne.
