Jay Z’s New Year resolution is to what…?
According to Eonline.com, rapper Jay Z, whose BFFs include Gwyneth Paltrow and Jimmy Falon, made a strange New Year’s resolution this year.
“I don’t typically believe in waiting a year to ‘resolve,’” he told Paltrow in this week’s GOOPtastic newsletter. “It should be a daily thing, I’ll say, to communicate on a deeper level with the people I love (not just in my music…).”
And then, because he’s human, he added, “And not to eat french fries everyday!”
Can’t say we were expecting that from rap’s king.

Aretha Franklin: “The problem has been resolved”
Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin may be in denial when she says her recent medical problems have been resolved.
Frankln, who was rumored to be diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer, told JET magazine in an exclusive interview, “I don’t have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors. The problem has been resolved.”
But in further discussing the diagnostic tests that her doctors ordered for her, Franklin, 68, inadvertently gave JET magazine enough hints to guess at her real diagnosis.
The soul icon also encouraged everyone to see their doctors if something doesn’t feel right.
She reveals that she went to a series of doctors who ran tests before they discovered what was wrong. She recalls saying to herself, “ ‘I know there is a problem, but these tests are showing nothing.’”
She recalls having “a very hard pain in my side” during a concert in Toronto, Canada last year. “I had a colonoscopy and it showed nothing was wrong. I associated the pain in my side with the colonoscopy that I had within a day or two before. I got up at 2 o’clock in the morning and called the doctor who did the colonoscopy and told him what was happening. He said, ‘Miss Franklin, whatever it is, it is not from the colonoscopy. You need to come home and have a CAT-scan.’ Thank God he said that because that unfolded everything, what the problem was and everything.”
She reiterates why she talked to JET, “I know my fans are concerned. Let them know I am feeling great and coming along.”
She sends out a message of gratitude for her fans worldwide. “I want to thank my fans and friends and supporters who have prayed for me and sent me beautiful cards and flowers. Please continue to respect my privacy as I continue to recover.”
Misdemeanor Drug Charge Dropped Against Tiny Harris
That misdemeanor drug charge hanging over Tameka “Tiny” Harris’s head has been dropped. I don’t know the full details, but her best friend, Shamra Rodriguez — who occasionally accompanied Tiny to Arkansas to visit T.I. in prison last year — just tweeted:
Congrats 2 my Sis @TinyMajorMama!! Her 1 California misdemeanor charge was dismissed today!! Yep she’s clear!!
Tiny, 35, and her husband T.I., 30, were arrested on drug possession charges after the Maybach they were riding in was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in LA on September 1st. Police found several Ecstasy pills on the famous couple.
Shamra Rodriguez is the mom of two members of the OMG Girlz, Lourdes (Lolo) and Bahja. As you know, Tiny manages the OMG Girlz along with her partner Keisha Babi.

Rapper Lil Wayne, who shares his brethren’s fondness for light skinned, long hair women, has sparked controversy with his lyrics directed toward dark-skinned women.

I’m going to go ahead and call this what it is: a desperate publicity stunt. Weezy has definitely fallen off since his release from prison late last year. No one is checking for him right now. He needs controversy to get people talking about him again.

Tiny Got Caught Pleasuring T.I. During Prison Visit
The rumors are true: according to TMZ.com, rapper T.I. was disciplined on Sunday after his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, was caught by Forrest City prison Correction’s officers giving her husband a hand.
According to the FCI Forrest City Admissions & Orientation (A&O) Handbook — which every prisoner receives upon arrival — conjugal visits are not allowed.
Tiny, 35, confirmed to TMZ that the two were in a room together during regular visiting hours on Sunday (Jan. 2) when Tiny “made like Michael Jackson … and beat it.”
Inmates are allowed to kiss and embrace at the beginning and at the end of each visit as well as hold hands — but “the inmate’s hands must remain in plain view of Visiting Room staff at all times.”
According to Tiny, T.I., 30, was reprimanded and sent to a “Special Housing Unit” — which consists of more security and less freedom. His liberal access to the prison phones and email were also cut off. Tiny hasn’t heard from her man since Sunday, and she doesn’t know when she will be allowed to visit him again.
Tiny normally tweets excitedly about visiting her hubby. But this Sunday her Twitter page was unusually quiet after her last visit with T.I.
A close friend of Tiny’s tweeted something along the lines of: “Where are you? I know you’re back from visiting your man.”
Then Tiny’s bestie, Antonia Carter, who starred with her on BET’s Tiny & Toya Show, tweeted this:
To Whom it May Concern, Please do not call or text me with no B*llsh*t!!!…its 2011 and I don’t have time for it.
That tweet gave rise to rampant rumors and speculation on and off Twitter all week.
Keri Hilson after meeting Lauryn Hill: ‘I will never be the same’
Singer Keri Hilson joked that she didn’t have much to live for until she met her idol, Lauryn Hill, backstage at Hill’s concert at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City.
The 28-year-old songwriter posted the above pic on her Twitter page and tweeted:
“No one understands…I will never be the same. Utmost respect 4 Lauryn Hill. So beautiful. Very down to earth. Anyone who knows me knows she’s a huge inspiration to me…I told her 2nite.
