Ted “The Voice” Williams: ‘I’m More Appreciative Now’

Emotional Ted Williams Tells “Early Show” He’s Reuniting with Mom for First Time in Years

Ted Williams, the 53-year-old homeless panhandler who was literally plucked from obscurity on the side of a highway, is now an Internet sensation. A reporter for a Columbus newspaper uploaded a video of Williams’ gifted baritone voice to YouTube which went viral, garnering over 4 million views.

The New York Post quotes Williams as exclaiming on local radio station WNCI, “The Cleveland Cavaliers just offered me a full-time job and a house! A house! A house!”

And he cried as he told CBS “Early Show” co-anchors Erica Hill and Chris Wragge:

“I’m gonna be going to New York, hopefully this afternoon… I apologize. I’m getting a little emotional. I haven’t seen my mom in a great deal of time. She doesn’t believe (what’s been happening to me). She’s 92. She lives in Brooklyn. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. … One of my biggest prayers that I sent out was that she would live long enough for me to see me rebound or whatever, and I guess God kept her around and kept my pipes around to maybe just have one more shot that I would be able to say, ‘Mom, I did do it before,’ — I might pass away before her or whatever, but my dad didn’t get a chance to see this. But God is good.”

Celebs Out & About: Ciara, Halle Berry, La La Vazquez, Shawn & Marlon Wayans

Singer Ciara was seen shopping for trinkets at Saks Fifth Avenue in Miami yesterday. She was accompanied by her cutie pie dogs, Tyson and Georgia.

Later, she sat courtside with a beautiful babe during the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat game in the American Airlines Arena. It’s no secret that CC isn’t dating anyone at the moment. We would love to see her and Keri Hilson get together — to record a song, that is. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Comedic brothers Marlon, right, and Shawn Wayans spent a relaxing day at the beach with male friends at Punta del Este in Uruguay yesterday.

Celeb Style: Lindsay Lohan

Actress Lindsay Lohan, 24, was seen entering the Equinox fitness center in West Hollywood yesterday. LiLo was wearing a black Nike jogging suit, a cute Burberry studded cashmere check scarf ($695) and a black Burberry studded leather Knight handbag ($2,195).

Never in a hundred million years would I drop $695 on a scarf. But then I’m not ballin’ like LIndsay, who recently moved into a $7,100 a month luxury Venice Beach condo after leaving drug rehab. Speaking of which, if you recall yesterday I told you that Lindsay’s ex-girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson, is not too happy that Lindsay moved right next door to her.

Lindsay is now telling friends that she had no idea Ronson lived next door. LiLo said she knew the moody DJ lived “somewhere in Venice Beach” but she didn’t know where.

Shaq and Hoopz: ‘Let’s pretend we’re still in love’

Rumors were swirling that Boston Celtics star center Shaquille O’Neal and his reality TV personality girlfriend, Hoopz, had called it quits. But the two shared a kiss outside the NY studios where they taped an appearance on ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ yesterday. I’m happy for them. These two people are totally wrong for each other, yet they still find a way to make love work. It’s a beautiful thing!
