Celeb Style: Is rapper Fabolous the new spokesman for YSL?
Rapper Fabolous has grown tired of wearing ghetto fabulous status symbols of wealth such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Lately, the 33-year-old has been seen rockin’ high end gear by Yves Saint Laurent, aka YSL.
I hope he’s getting a phat check from YSL?
From Upscale:
Fabolous performed at LAX nightclub in Las Vegas on New Years day. He wore a burgundy two button blazer layered over a Yves Saint Laurent logo t-shirt ($285) and a matching pair of burgundy YSL Patent leather high-top sneakers ($525). Do you like his look?

Kim Kardashian premieres her new song

Socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian premiered her new single over the weekend at TAO in Las Vegas. The tune, titled “Turn It Up,” was produced by Christina Milian’s ex, The Dream.
Kardashian reportedly shot the video for the song last week in a LA studio with Kanye West who makes a brief cameo in it. If you recall, there were absurd rumors floating about that Kanye and Kim were dating each other.
If Kanye is wondering why annoying newcomer Nikki Minaj’s debut album Pink Friday is outselling his latest CD by at least a few hundred thousand copies — he need look no further than the ridiculous moves he’s making musically. Clearly, Kanye doesn’t know his audience.
When Twitter Goes Horribly Wrong: Jazmine Sullivan’s Desperate Cry for Attention

In a pitiful public outburst designed to garner attention and sympathy, singer Jazmine Sullivan abruptly “announced” her departure from the music business last night on Twitter.com — only to take back her announcement a mere 20 minutes later.
With tweets about Ciara and Keri Hilson (not to mention Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj) dominating our timelines, it’s no wonder that other narcissistic celebrities feel a little left out.
Sullivan, who is often confused for singer Chrisette Michele, probably noted that her new album wasn’t moving units and her Twitter timeline was too quiet.
The 23-year-old Philly native took to her Twitter page and tweeted:
“i’m making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music. i’m trying to figure out who i am… w/out a mike, paper or pen. i promised myself when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am.”
But it was her next tweet to her thousands of Twitter followers that was most telling:
“i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much,” she added. “…u have no idea how much u’ve inspired me and fed my ego.”
At least she’s honest about Twitter feeding her ego. Other narcissistic celebrities would never admit that much.
These days, attention-hungry celebrities such as Sullivan are bypassing their publicists to feed their crushing egos by creating their own instant rumors on social networks.
The result is posts like this one, with her name in the headline, which never would have been written had she not taken matters into her own hands.
Sullivan’s sophomore album Love Me Back quietly debuted at #17 on the Billboard chart in November, selling a disappointing 57,000 copies in the first week. The disc sold roughly 8,000 units less than her debut CD, Fearless, which dropped in 2008. Fearless spawned Sullivan’s top-ten hits “Bust Your Windows” and “Lions, Tigers & Bears”.
Issa: Obama administration ‘most corrupt’ in modern times
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-California), is again trying to clarify statements he made about Barack Obama back in November on Rush Limbaugh where he called Obama “one of the most corrupt presidents in modern times.”
Issa appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” show over the weekend where he explained that he meant to say Obama’s administration was corrupt — not Obama himself.
But what’s the difference?
“When you hand out $1 trillion in TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) just before this president came in, most of it unspent, $1 trillion nearly in stimulus, that this president asked for, plus this huge expansion in health care and government, it has a corrupting effect,” Issa said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
What all of that means is Bush left office in 2008 without setting any ground rules directing where the $700 billion in TARP funds should be spent. The TARP bill was originally passed in 2008 (during Bush’s term) to buy back worthless assets from banks so the banks could clear their books.
Instead, Obama — who inherited the $700 billion from Bush — used the money to bail out his buddies’ banks and insurance companies on Wall Street.
Obama then asked for – and received another $800 billion for a stimulus plan that was mostly payouts for political favors (earmarks). History will note that Obama’s stimulus plan did little to stimulate the economy.
If you recall, Obama campaigned on a promise that there would “not be a single earmark” or “pork barrel spending” in any of his bills.
Celebs Ring in the 2011 New Year: Monica, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Angela Simmons, Demi Moore
Our favorite R&B singer Monica spent New Year’s Eve rockin’ with her kids, Melo and Lil Rocko, at the #LAKESHOW at the Staples Center last night. Her man, Shannon Brown, helped lead the Lakers to a 102-98 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Afterwards, Lakers reserve forward Matt Barnes posed with his teammate Shannon Brown’s stepsons, Melo and Lil Rocko! Even though Monica and the kids have all but moved in with Shannon on the west coast, she still spends time in Atlanta with her family and friends. And Lil Rocko will finish up the 2nd grade in an Atlanta private school, where he prefers to be known as “Rod” – short for Rodney. I think it’s great that Monica (who is an exceptional mommy) allows Lil Rocko the autonomy to call himself whatever he wants. He’s at that age (5) where most children begin the lifelong journey to discover themselves.
Everyone’s favorite pop singer Rihanna rang in the New Year with her bestie Melissa Forde, right, at Pure night club inside the Ceasars Hotel in Las Vegas, last night.
