Halle Berry’s ex: “Don’t call my baby black!”

The latest missile has been fired in the ongoing custody battle between Halle Berry, 44, and her ex-boyfriend, underwear model Gabriel Aubry, 35.

According to gossip website TMZ.com, sources say Gabe “goes nuts” whenever someone refers to his 2-year-old daughter Nahla as black.

Sources connected with the former couple tell TMZ … whenever Gabriel would read a story about Nahla that referred to her as “black,” he would go off, insisting his baby was white. We’re told Gabriel would tell Halle and others they should demand a “retraction” when such references were made regarding his daughter.

I’m going to have to agree with him there.

Nahla is not black. If anything she’s biracial or mixed, but she’s definitely not black. I don’t see that as a problem — if it’s true.

But sources also tell TMZ that Gabe once called Halle a “ni**ga” – indicating that he might be a racist. That would be dead wrong if he called her the N-word in front of their child. Not that Nahla even knows that the word is offensive. But you can imagine the manner in which the N-word was delivered. No wonder the kid is terrified whenever daddy and mommy get together.

Everybody uses an “offensive” word the catch 22 is it’s only offensive when people wat it to be. Gay people use terms deemed offensive if used by a “straight” person. When will this craziness end!!! Halle is trying to discredit him, any which way she can. However, convicting him in the court of public opinion is not going to help her child custody case. She decided to have his baby. These are things she should have known before she had his child. If he is borderline racist, he was that before she got pregnant by him. These two need to stop. She needs to stop trying to embarrass him and work things out with him for the sake of their daughter – do what’s best for the child. Hello All. Truth be told, most white Americans would NEVER, EVER admit that they have black blood, NEVER! Indian, Asian, Spanish, even Irish but NEVER black. Just like most of them would NEVER, ever want their children to marry a black person but all the others listed above would eventually be accepted into the family. I asked a few white co-workers if this were true and they pretty much so in most families. Racism is STILL very much alive and well in America, especially America, whose very foundation was built upon. That is all. Peace.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not one to date outside my race and I love seeing black love. But I also have enough common sense to know, if one happens to fall in love with someone of another race, doesn’t mean they hate their race and they are not destroying me or mine. As much as we seen in the media our men crossing over, I see wayyyyy more black on black relationships in real life and know their numbers are far higher than relationships of mixed race. People can’t control who they fall for. I only have an issue with that if you categorize all of us into one category and say I don’t date black women for this reason or that. Judge us individually, not as a group.

One of the main reasons people considered themselves black even when they are mixed is really a generational thing that was never broken with society and this stems as far back as slavery. America was built on slavery so that right there should pretty much sum that up. We (as in America) still havent dealt with this issue head on and most would say racism doesnt exist. Like- if you look Black, but half of your family’s really from Russia, and someone refers to you as Black and you go out the way to say: “no- I’m Russian, Italian and only 1/10th Black.” What purpose will that have served? Will your skin lighten 3 shades just by revealing that? Will your eye color ot hair texture immediately change once you make them understand you are not all “Black?” No.

The extra clarification does nothing but serve some innate need for us all to feel special by saying we’re not just “plain ol Black” and to maybe allow a disclaimer from all the negative connotations that come with it. Same for every ethnicity. Its self-serving and unnecessary.

This little girl is just as much her father as she is her mother, and no matter how her HALF black mother identifies herself, no matter what SOCIETY has to say about it, when you’re half ANYTHING, you’re not COMPLETELY nothin.

Halle Berry has a white mother and a black father, so when she had a child with a white man, this little girl is technically LESS black than anything, how do WE get to decide who she is?

If this was a black man saying, “Don’t call my baby white!” the SAME people who think that THIS man is wrong for feeling like he deserves to be acknowledged in his daughters existence would be co-signing the black man.

At the end of the day, his thoughts that his daughter shouldn’t be called black could very well NOT be a racist thing, but more a “you won’t deny the fact that I played a role in her being here.” thing.

PS: Who cares about the 1 drop rule, that’s some $hit the white man came up with to oppress black folk and put DOWN anything black, but we want to take THAT $hit and hold on to it like it’s the last crumb at the last supper, but the SAME white people who said, “1 drop makes you black” also said your a$$ wasn’t good enough to eat next to them and that they had the right to own you… but we don’t want to accept that.

People kill me picking which societal laws they want to be governed by. This child is just as much white (actually more) than she is black, and her white father has just as much a right to be offended as a black mother would for saying “don’t call my mixed baby a Mexican.”

I wish black people would stop cosigning the one-drop ‘rule’. It isn’t a rule, but a racist law created to keep certain rapists from having any legal responsibility towards their slave children amongst other, forced sexual relationships, amongst things. Sorry, if you take a DNA test they would say she is a AFRICAN AMERICAN. I have indian in me, but I am still AFRICAN AMERICAN. I don’t think there is anyone that is American that can say they are just one race. Sorry, Nahla is black. She may be mixed with white, but she is black. It is funny, during slavery days. She still would be considered black. Now everyone wants to be politically correct and say she is bi-racial, shoot who isnt bi-racial?
