New Music: Lloyd – Cupid
Producer extraordinaire, Polow Da Don, said his mission was to save the ailing music industry. Well, he’s not playing!
I LOVE Lloyd’s new Polow-produced single, “Cupid”! It looks like the 25-year-old singer has another hit on his hands.
Lloyd gets struck with an arrow by “Cupid” on the new single from his fourth album King of Hearts, due April 19. On the Polow Da Don production, the ladies’ man coos about falling for his girl after Cupid makes him his target. “I don’t want to waste another moment/ It’s just me and you girl, and Cupid has done it again/ Got my head spinning around and around and around,” he sings over the sultry arrangement. I’ve always like Lloyd and his music. This track is ok,nothing to write home about….
So Polow is saving the music industry by recycling this beat.

Hello All. Changing the subject, my only child just emailed me and informed me that he would be attending Berkeley soon, taking a few pre-med courses. (He graduated from Stanford in 09, degree in Human Biology.) Can’t tell u all how proud I am of him. And my Momma, God rest her soul, would be soooooooooooooo proud. (She only finished the 8th grade and was the smartest in her family, and in many families!) She shared much knowledge and wisdom with me but what stands out most is this, one of her many Lillie-isms: They, meaning the white man, can take away your pride, your dignity, your house, car, even your freedom but knowlege, it’s yours to keep forever!
And for all that holla back at me something positive, I thank you in advance. Peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. (My baby gone be a doctor and I pray I live to see this day!)

As for the post, I am not a fan of Polow’s computerized production skill. Wake me when he learns how to play an instrument. (I’m assuming he can’t since he relies to heavily on the computer). And as expected I am not crazy about this song.

Now if he wants a well spoken, cultured, pure wife holla at your girl. She’s not a college grad or even attendee at this point, but she can cook and represent him well at industry functions just like a white woman. She’s got good brain genes and if big daddy (your son) encourages her properly I’m sure she’d be open to an advanced education. I say again, she is young, thin and untouched.
