Lauryn Hill writes Open Letter to Atlanta concertgoers
The last time singer Lauryn Hill performed live in Atlanta, she left her most loyal fans feeling frustrated and unimpressed.
According to an industry insider who attended the concert for free at Atlanta’s Center Stage theater in January, the 35-year-old mother of 5 hit the stage 3 hours late for her advertised 9 p.m. show.
Lauryn promptly confused her fans by announcing that she was tired of “playing the same music night after night.” Hill told the shocked audience that she wanted to play something different. She then instructed her band to speed up the music, which rendered her classic hits unrecognizable.
The insider said Hill urged the audience to sing along, saying, “I want crowd participation.”
“But nobody could participate because NOBODY knew the music!,” said the fan. “Everybody was looking around like ‘WHAT SONG IS THIS???’”
“It was new music completely,” the frustrated fan continued. “The lyrics were the same, but you had to be on ecstasy to follow the music!”
Well, Lauryn Hill and her road manager, Atlanta’s own sexual chocolate, Bumni, heard all the complaints and they want to make it up to enraged Atlanta fans. When Lauryn Hill hits the stage tonight in Atlanta, she promises to be on time and drama free.

Hmmmm I guess that’s a step in the right direction.. With that being said is she planning to come back to Miami?? She was here a couple weeks ago during Jazz in the Gardens, aside from being an hour and a half late, just like the industry insider stated she started with a song we had never heard before, then she proceeds to attempt some of the classics we all know and love but the arrangement was changed to the point where you couldn’t recogize the song. By the 3rd song 20,000 of the 40,000 people that were there left. It was a total disaster!!!

I am a fan, but I wouldn’t want to listen to my favorites songs played differently, well, now, ok, I take that back,. maybe I would, but I need to be told(&listen to it) before I go giving up concert money.

I think that ppl who micro manage(even if their name is on the door)know that they are not really the boss, but just the owner. They micro manage because it makes them feel important, and they think they really can tell someone what to do. Right now my energies have been focused solely on my boys so I don’t know yet how they’ll feel about a man other than the one they call dad. (I refuse to refer to him as a father cause he ain’t one.)
I predict it would be rough since they are used to having most of my attention and free time. But I wouldn’t want anything serious anyway so I wouldn’t be trying to move him in or anything.
