Video: Stefano Langone Sings “I Need You Now” on AI

Moments after American Idol contestant performed Smokie Norful’s mournful plea, “I Need You Now”, Smokie’s name began trending on the popular social networking website Twitter.com. Until last night, many young people had never heard of Smokie or his most popular 2002 hit. Langone’s rendition of the song stirred emotions in the hearts of young people who testified their desire to find Jesus in these, their darkest days.
Below is Smokie’s live extended version of “I Need You Now”.
Matt Damon and other celebrities turn against Obama

First it was black people, and now the fawning celebrities have turned their backs on U.S. President Barack Obama. Actor Matt Damon is at the forefront of celebrities voicing their opinions on Obama’s dismal track record of keeping his promises.
“I no longer hope for audacity,” said Damon, who was one of the President’s earliest and best-known celebrity supporters during his 2008 campaign. Damon expressed his disappointment in the way the country was being run on CNN’s Piers Morgan Show on Mar. 3.
He also slammed the President for failing to follow through on many of his campaign promises, particularly on education.
“I really think he misinterpreted his mandate and has doubled down on a lot of things. The idea that we’re testing kids and we’re tying teachers salaries to how kids are performing on tests, that kind of mechanized thinking has nothing to do with higher order. We’re training them, not teaching them.”
Other A-list celebs who threw their full support behind Obama in 2008 are now speaking out against his policies.
Barbra Streisand told Larry King last year that she thought the President should have been more aggressive on certain issues, like overturning the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ ban on gay people serving in the military.
Even though the measure was eventually overturned, Glee’s Jane Lynch criticised Obama’s handling of gay rights issues in general, calling him a “huge disappointment”.
“We thought the great hope of Obama was going to magically change all that,” she said. “He’s just nicely walking the middle.”
Obama can’t please everyone, but he should at least try and appease the people who helped him win the election.
Proof That Your Lil Kim Mixtape is Finally On The Way
If you’re one of the 110,000 who dropped $10 for rapper Lil Kim’s mixtape, Rap-Up mag online has proof that your mixtape is on the way!
After a few weeks delay, Lil’ Kim is ready to ship out her new mixtape Black Friday. The Queen Bee hand-packaged copies for fans who purchased the controversial release last month, along with posters and T-shirts that read, “Who Da Fuck Want War?!” She tweeted this photo of the bulk shipment, writing, “Packing orders all night for you guys!”
The Brooklyn diva checked in with her loyal supporters in a Ustream session on Thursday night, addressing the tape’s hold up. “I know there was a delay with the mixtape, but it’s gonna be well worth the wait,” she promised. “Just know I love you and everything I do, I always make sure that it’s extra special no matter how long it takes.”
Kimmy Blanco claims she sold a whopping 113,000 copies within the first 28 hours of release.
Did Rihanna’s Bodyguard Go Too Far?
This pic of Rihanna and her touchy feely bodyguard was spotted at Hollywood Life. This pic could be the movie poster for The Bodyguard 2 if Rihanna wins Whitney’s part in the remake.
Rihanna, 23, is so hot right now — even her security staff can’t keep their hands off of her!
During a March 3 shopping trip in Sydney, Australia, the singer was moving through a bustling crowd when she was apparently knocked into her security guard — in a very compromising position!
We’re sure it was an accident, but the bodyguard probably didn’t mind!
Obama explains why he’s staying out of the NFL labor dispute
This is the most sense I’ve heard U.S. President Barack Obama make since he was elected. While I empathize with the little people who will be affected if the NFL lockout occurs today, Obama was right when he said, “the fans” are the ones who allow for all that money they’re making. And it’s the fans who are worrying “about making the mortgage and, you know, paying for their kids’ college education.”
Why should the president of the United States intervene when greedy people can’t decide how to divvy up millions of dollars between them?
Here’s the full text of Obama’s statement:
We’ve got owners, most of whom are worth close to $1 billion; you’ve got players who are making millions of dollars. My working assumption at a time when people are having to cut back, compromise, and worry about making the mortgage and, you know, paying for their kids’ college education, is that the two parties should be able to work it out without the president of the United States intervening.
I’m a big football fan, but I also think that for an industry that’s making $9 billion a year in revenue, they can figure out how to divide it up in a sensible way. And be true to their fans, who are the ones who, obviously, allow for all the money that they’re making. So my expectation and hope is that they’ll resolve it without me intervening, because it turns out I’ve got a lot of other stuff to do.
Da Brat: “Every Female in Prison Wanted Me”
Rapper Da Brat told TMZ.com that she was the Most Wanted lesbun while she was incarcerated for 3 years in a rural Georgia prison.
As you know, Brat was sentenced to 3 years for beating the living daylights out of a cocktail waitress with a rum bottle at JD’s now defunct Studio 72 nightclub in Decatur.
Da Brat, real name Shawntae Harris, 36, said she did NOT strike up a romance with another female inmate during her time behind bars … though she insists everyone wanted a shot at her “goodies.”
That’s probably because her most frequent visitor — her longtime Bosnian girlfriend (pictured above) — kept everybody in check. I forget the chick’s name, but I’m told she was there front and center during visiting hours putting her goodies on the glass for Da Brat to admire — this, according to my confidential informant.
I probably could do a little digging into my archives to recover her name — if I really cared — which I don’t, because she totally ignored my request when I asked her to pour some tea when Da Brat first got locked up a few years ago.
Even though she fit the profile of a ride-or-die chick, my sources tell me there might be a little trouble in paradise.
It seems the bodyguard that Da Brat hired to shadow her girlfriend while Brat was locked up, has been conspicuously missing from the scene for the past 6-8 months. My source said Brat’s girlfriend has been solo dolo in the clubs every weekend.
That could mean anything from Da Brat running out of cash to them breaking up and Da Brat no longer needed the bodyguard’s services. If you recall, rapper T.I. also hired a bodyguard to keep an eye on his future wife, Tiny, the first time he was locked up in 2009.
We’ll find out if they’re still together when Da Brat is released from house arrest in 3-6 months, at which time she plans on “making it rain at a club” with Jermaine Dupri’s leftover Janet Jackson money.

Boy, 3, Found Dead in Oven; Mom Charged
The “charred” body of a 3-year-old boy was found inside an oven in a Greenville, MS apartment by police responding to a disturbance call in the early morning hours on Thursday. The child’s mother, Terrie Robinson, 24, was charged with his murder.
According to Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson, Tristan Robinson sustained head injuries and other trauma that occurred sometime before he was placed inside the hot oven. Police say the body was “Still warm to the touch” when it was removed from the oven just after midnight.
The toddler may have been asleep when he was placed inside the oven. Johnson said an autopsy would be conducted Friday to determine the exact cause of death.
Police also found a little girl who was uninjured inside the Greenville, MS apartment. She was placed in the custody of Mississippi Department of Human Services.
News of the child’s horrific death sent shockwaves through the community. Terrie Robinson’s twin sister, Sherrie Robinson, feared the public was rushing to judgment without hearing all of the facts.
“She was a great parent, a good person. We don’t know what’s wrong,” said Sherrie in an interview with WXVT-TV. “We don’t know what happened. Do not sit there and call her a bad mom cause that’s not what she is.”
Terrie Robinson is being held on $5 million bond.
