Antonia Carter’s ‘Toya: A Family Affair’ Viewed By 1.5 Million
Antonia “Toya” Carter celebrated the series premiere of her reality TV show ‘Toya: A Family Affair’ at a viewing party at Straits Restaurant in midtown on Tuesday night (April 12).
According to the Nielsen Company, the series premiere of “Toya: A Family Affair” on BET was viewed by 1.5 million viewers among 1.1 million households!
That’s good enough to make Toya’s first solo venture without her friend Tiny, BET’s #1 series premiere to date for this season.
Speaking of Tiny, sources within her camp tell me that Tiny was not asked to return this season to BET’s #1 hit series ‘Tiny & Toya.’ Rumor had it that Tiny’s husband, rapper T.I., forbid her from returning to the show. “Not true,” said my source. “They didn’t ask her to come back… I don’t know why they didn’t ask her. Tiny & Toya was their number one show.”

Celebs Out & About: Audrina Partridge, Christina Milian, Eve, Tristan Wilds
R&B singer Christina Milian, left, and television personality Audrina Patridge attended the launch of Audrina Patridge’s new VH1 reality show “Audrina” at The Redbury in Los Angeles yesterday (April 13). Christina is enjoying the single life since divorcing her music producer husband, The Dream, last year.
Christina, 29, posed with overly excited Cougar magnet Tristan Wilds, 22. He is best known for his realistic portrayal of a young street hustler on HBO’s critically acclaimed cable series ‘The Wire’. Tristan currently plays Dixon Wilson on TV’s Beverly Hills, 90210.
Rapper-turned-actress Eve, 32, stepped out at the Good Housekeeping’s Shine On Awards honoring remarkable women, which was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York on April 12.

Adele Doesn’t Care What You Think…
British pop singer Adele, whose sophomore album, 21, just went platinum in America, graces the cover of Rolling Stone magazine this week.
In the cover story, Adele gave serious thought to our infatuation with her weight — and why she always sits when she sings. Adele matter-of-factly said she’s quite happy with her current size and she has no intentions of dieting or exercising any time soon.
Adele made no excuses for her weight. She said she loves eating sugary foods, and her weight gain is an acceptable side effect of her high caloric intake.
She said: “My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like. I don’t like going to the gym.
“I love my food. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine,” she said.
Then, in an apparent dig at singers Rihanna and Beyoncé — both of whom can’t seem to keep their clothes on — she added, “Even if I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my tits and ass out for no one.”
Adele also reflected on her debilitating stage fright and her Stan-like worship of American singer Beyoncé.
“I’m scared of audiences. One show in Amsterdam I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I’ve thrown up a couple of times.
“Once in Brussels I projectile vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don’t like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot.”
“I was about to meet Beyoncé and I had a full-blown anxiety attack. Then she popped in looking gorgeous, and said, ‘You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.’”
“I went out on the balcony crying hysterically, and I said, ‘What would Sasha Fierce do?’ That’s when Sasha Carter was born.’”
Adele’s sophomore album, 21, soared up the charts in America to become the first platinum-selling album of 2011.
21 is also the most downloaded album in history on Amazon.co.uk.
She said 21 was inspired by her devastating breakup from her former boyfriend.
“He was artistic, but not romantic. We’d just bicker over a cup of tea or the fact that my lighter wasn’t working,” she said. “He made me an adult and put me on the road that I’m travelling on.”
Obama targets the wealthy with tax hikes; “They can afford to pay a little more”
U.S. President Barack Obama is targeting the wealthy with planned tax hikes aimed at stabilizing the economy. The only problem is the tax hikes will ultimately affect the rest of us working stiffs who live from paycheck to paycheck.
In typical reproaching style, Obama blamed Americans for the state of the economy, saying years of overspending means every American has to make sacrifices.
Obama unveiled a plan to raise taxes and reduce borrowing over the next 12 years by $4 trillion. His cost-cutting measures included slashing the domestic budget — and cutting politically sensitive medicare programs, as well as cutting defense spending.
Naturally, his friends and banker buddies will be spared the sharpest cuts.
But Obama insisted the rich should shoulder more of the burden to prevent the mushrooming national deficit from spinning out of control.
Defending his plan, Obama said in a speech at George Washington University today: “We have to live within our means, we have to reduce our deficit, and we have to get back on a path that will allow us to pay down our debt.”
He added: “It’s an approach that puts every kind of spending on the table, but one that protects the middle-class, our promise to seniors, and our investments in the future.”

Asheley Jewell Discharged Home From Hospital
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, shooting victim Asheley Jewell was discharged home from Grady Memorial hospital.
“She is at home and progressing daily,” her cousin, Ebony Phillips, wrote Wednesday in an email to the AJC.
Asheley, 15, was shot in the back of the head as she traveled in a car with friends on Old National highway on Saturday, March 5th. No suspect has been arrested in the apparent road-rage incident.
Family and friends are organizing an event from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday to keep the spotlight focused on the crime and to increase public awareness that a dangerous individual is still loose on our streets. They plan to canvass the area around Old National highway, passing out flyers.
A $2,000 reward is being offered for information about the suspect or suspects. They’re calling it “Justice for Asheley Jewell Day.”

Asheley is the daughter of Ashley Jewell, who died from complications following a fight at a strip club in 2009. He was featured on ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ with cast member Kandi Burruss, who he had been engaged to.
Tiny Slashes Prices at Her Nail Salon This Weekend
Former Xscape member Tameka “Tiny” Cottle is preparing to see her hubby, T.I. again this weekend. Tiny visits her man every other Sunday and Monday at the Forrest City Correctional facility in Kansas where he’s serving time for a probation violation.
If you recall, an incident of an intimate nature occurred during Tiny’s last visit to her husband at the Forrest City prison Correctional facility in Kansas.
According to Tiny, T.I., 30, was reprimanded and his liberal access to the prison phones and email were cut off. Tiny didn’t know when she would be allowed to visit him again before his release date sometime in August or September. But luckily, the prison didn’t ban her from visiting T.I.
Yesterday she tweeted this on her Twitter page: “One of my steps of getting ready to see my man is changing my hair color. I’m always trying to do the impossible! So creative it is. #faith”
According to an inside source, Tiny, who was hospitalized recently, is planning a big Mardi Gras style event this weekend at her nail salon, Tiny’s Nail Bar at 3540 Walt Stephens Road in Stockbridge. Business is good so Tiny wants to thank her many faithful fans and Twitter followers by slashing prices for nail designs!
