LeBron James’ mother arrested for assault *Updated*
According to the Miami Herald, Lebron James’ mother was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge this morning.
Gloria James allegedly assaulted a parking attendant at the Fontainebleau hotel, according to WPLG-TV. Now that’s gangster!
Updated:
This is the unfortunate Fontainebleau Hotel valet who police say was bitch slapped by LeBron Jame’s mother, Gloria James, during a dispute over her car. His name is Rockfeller Sorel, and he must really be short.
Miami Beach police reportedly arrested LeBron James’ mother at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach Thursday morning.
Officers arrested Gloria James on a misdemeanor assault charge, WSVN-7 reported.
According to the report, it is not the first time that James’ mother has been in trouble with the law. She also was arrested in 2006 in Ohio on a DUI charge.
I have a soft spot in my heart for gangsta b*tches! Remember that time Gloria ran out on the court threatening to beat Kevin Garnett down?
Obama’s best friend arrested for soliciting a prostitute
Honolulu police have announced the arrest of U.S. President Barack Obama’s best golfing buddy for prostitution.
Police say Robert “Bobby” Titcomb, was arrested Monday, April 4, and charged with solicitation after he approached an undercover police officer who was posing as a prostitute. Titcomb, who is married, was released on $500 bond.
When this news first broke yesterday, I said to myself, “there’s no way Obama will be re-elected.”
Why would they arrest the best friend of the sitting president of the United States for prostitution now when you know it’s not his first time soliciting prostitutes?
The timing is very suspect. Obama announced his bid for re-election on Monday.
Titcomb was one of four men arrested in an undercover prostitution sting operation in Honolulu. But it’s clear that they were only after one man. The question is, who ordered the undercover sting operation?
Police arrest 2 men in fatal shooting of DJ Megatron
According to the NY Daily News, police have arrested two thugs for the murder of DJ Megatron, a popular New York DJ who worked for BET 106 & Park.
Police charged William Williams, 21, and Richard Cromwell, 20, with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a handgun. They were awaiting arraignment Wednesday night.
Police say Megatron, real name Corey McGriff, 32, was on the hunt for marijuana around 2 a.m. March 27 when the two men approached him on Osgood Avenue, about a block from his Staten Island brownstone.
McGriff’s 4-year-old son, who was left home alone, may have watched from the doorway of the family residence as one of the suspects shot his father once in the chest.
Williams and Cromwell, who both have lengthy criminal records, rifled through McGriff’s pockets, robbing him of a wad of cash and an inexpensive wristwatch that his 11-year-old daughter had given him as a gift.
The watch held sentimental value for McGriff, according to his grieving mother, Louvenia McGriff, 60. “He loved it because she gave it to him,” she told the NY Daily News from her Georgia home.
Police recovered the watch after it was discarded by McGriff’s heartless murderers. “They threw it away probably because they realized it wasn’t valuable,” she said.
An anonymous caller gave police the tip they needed to apprehend the suspects. “That is a risky think to do,” McGriff’s mother said of the anonymous caller.
“They’re sacrificing themselves for justice. That speaks volumes about my son. I’m so grateful to everybody for what they’ve done.”
She said the family is preparing to see the alleged killers in court.
“I want to look in their eyes and I want to know why they had to kill him,” she said. “Why kill him?”
“It’s a hard thing to swallow,” said her husband, Leo McGriff. “We’ll be doing a lot of crying.”
How do you feel about your man holding hands with his home boy?
It appears that Toronto Raptors teammates Leandro Barbosa, right, and Reggie Evans are more than just friends on and off the court. It’s a known fact that the NBA has its share of gay players hiding deep in the closet. And with attitudes being more favorable towards gays in society as a whole, it’s just a matter of time before a player rips the closet door off its hinges. In the case of Leandro and Reggie, it’s good to see manly men who aren’t afraid to show affection toward each other, even if they’re joking around.
I asked a manly man, who happens to be a celebrity, how he felt about a man holding hands with him, and he said: “I can’t get with that. If a man tries to hold my hand, I will pull back because I don’t like that. Don’t try to disrespect me with your energy. That’s gay.”
How do you ladies feel about your men holding hands with their home boy?

Cynthia Tucker: “if the government shuts down, blame Boehner”
It looks like the impending government shutdown will indeed occur on Friday (April 8) if the White House and the GOP don’t resolve their budget dispute. The problem is U.S. President Barack Obama’s refusal to approve the budget cuts that the Republicans want.
The government shutdown won’t affect U.S. President Barack Obama or anyone in Congress because they will still get paid.
But it will affect thousands of good people who go to work every day in non-essential services such as parks, museums, etc.
Naturally, the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for being stubborn.
Cynthia Tucker, the esteemed syndicated political writer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, says if the shutdown occurs, blame House Speaker John Boehner and the GOP — not Obama.
But we would expect her to say that since she’s a Democrat. The Pulitzer prize winner in political commentary says the Dems are holding their ground. “Here’s how we got into this mess: Republican leaders didn’t keep their word,” Tucker wrote on her blog this morning.
More specifically, she points the finger of blame at “the entire far right wing of the Republican Party” for demanding more than the $33 billion in cuts handed to them by the Democrats.
Tucker didn’t mention that it was the Democrats who failed to pass a 2011 budget last year when they controlled Obama, the House and the Senate.
In the meantime, black people will have to scramble to make ends meet while these political millionaires take their vacations and toil in the hot sun practicing their golf swings during the shutdown.
Is this what you voted for when you elected Obama as president? Please vote responsibly when you go to the polls in 2012.
Morning Glory: Brook Lynne Carter
I haven’t put up a Morning Glory post in a minute. This morning’s Glory is Brook Lynne Carter, 25. She used to strip but now she holds things down as the head bartender at Atlanta’s premier strip club, Kamal’s 21. Kamal’s is located minutes from downtown Atlanta at 1905 Piedmont Road.
Their website boasts that the club is 15,000 square feet with three stages and two VIPs. I bet if I pulled out my tape measure the numbers would be a little off, but that’s besides the point.
Most of Brook’s clientele don’t go to Kamal’s for the decor — or even to oogle the other ladies — they just go to see her. Even though Brook no longer dances, they say she is very entertaining. One customer even tweeted that Brook, whose Twitter handle is @Brookandthecity, was handling “20 customers” at the bar at the same time.
I hear Wednesday night is the best night to go. Doors open at 11am weekdays and 3pm on Saturdays. They accept all major credit cards and there’s an ATM on the premises for you ballers who still think making it rain is cute.
