Rihanna Performs “California King Bed” Live On CMAs
R&B singer Rihanna performed her next single, “California King Bed” off her smash album LOUD with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles at the 46th Annual Country Music Awards in Las Vegas last night.
The reviews are in: “She sounds like a dying rabbit,” wrote one reviewer following Rihanna’s unlikely performance at the CMAs.
Wearing a dreadful red pixie wig and a white dress, Rihanna choked out the words to her own song in a live performance that didn’t go over well with the harsh Twitter.com critics. To put it frankly, she was bad — and not in a good way.
Nettles tried to save Rihanna after their duet by calling the 23-year-old Barbadian native a “wonderful performer.” She added: “Obviously, country music is hip and it’s cool and it’s fresh, and I think her being here tonight is even more testimony to that.”
Taylor Swift won the Entertainer of the Year award and Lady antebellum won a gong for Album of the Year. Miranda Lambert took home four gongs and Twilight star Robert Pattinson and newlywed Reese Witherspon were presenters.

I thought Rihanna sounded and looked great. I never really liked this song before but I do so now and it looks like it is going to be another smash hit single for her as the song is already in the top BB 200 when it wasn’t even top 1000 before the performance. Go RiRi!
Also..is it true that Rihanna is the first black artist to sing at the ACMAs? Well done Rihanna…keep on rising.
Not a fan of the short wig and I can’t wait to the curly stuff comes back.

No newsflash here, she’s barely a “studio singer”. She should be banned from performing live going fwd if she’s not gonna lip-sync..
She’s sounded worse. So I guess, in her case, that’s a compliment.
She was upstaged, but she seemed to take it well.
I was a lil confused by the side stage shimmy shaking.
I’m not a fan of her singing live BUT I think she actually did great.
This is a really the one of her best live performances I’ve heard from her.

I love Rhianna but she did look a hot mess. Her singing was ok to me too. I am one of the few people that actually believes that she can sing.
P.S my how the tables have turned on Rihanna on this blog. A month ago she would have been praised as a “fashion plate”or “style Icon of our time”.

I honestly do not understand the hype over Taylor Swift. IN MY OPINION, she cannot sing, all of her songs sound childish and she is a little too young to be so experienced that every ‘EFFIN song she writes is about a man!
Man i was just getting ready to say Sandra what are you talking about she sounds good once she got warmed up but then to my surprise it was the Sugarland lady singing, she could have just done it alone and let RiRi take lessons. I really time for her to stop performing live!!!

All of her songs are about life. The joke is that you don’t want to date Taylor and break up with her because she’s going to write about it. The songs she sings she wrote.

Hi Anna. I’m well versed on Taylor Swift. I just think that she sucks! Her voice is annoying & I think her songs are juvenile IN MY OPINION! I tried, I just don’t like her! Again, the hype is well above my head because I don’t get it!
