Black Woman Kicked Off Amtrak for Talking Too Loud
A black woman was kicked off an Amtrak train after she had a verbal altercation with other passengers who complained that she was talking too loudly on her cell phone.
Lakeysha Beard of Tigard was charged with disorderly conduct after police said she got into a “verbal altercation” with train passengers on Sunday.
The train’s conductor stopped the train in Salem, Oregon and called police after the incident between Beard and passengers had escalated.
Beard told KATU she was indeed talking on her phone, but said she didn’t understand why she had to be escorted off the train.
Of course she didn’t.
Beard is your typical, loud, rude, black woman who feels she is entitled to trample on other people’s rights simply because she was born. She probably wonders why no man wants her, too.

Lol, I heard about this on the news this morning…last summer I rode Amtrak and a young fat loud chick with a bad azz daughter was doing the same thing…I just listened to my iPod the whole way…
That’s just the reason why I ride in the “quiet” commuter car.

Two latina ladies get on the train with me everyday cussing and talking loudly….just yesterday there was a white man speaking on his phone quite loudly to his contractor. So, what gives?
I encounter this crap everyday with dealing with the public and public transportation…I just tune it out.
But, I tell you the thing that irks the hell outta me and make me want to back-hand a bish….is that gum popping/snapping all behind my dayum head. I hate to see women (especially grown ones) popping gum like Shaniqua on the block!
People of her character don’t understand why they get no real respect.

Sandra, after the “article” in Psychology Today where a Japanese man stated that black women were the most unattractive of all races, please don’t add to the “black women are negative” crowd. We get enough of that with everyone else.
I have witnessed many races acting a fool in public. Being that she’s from my neck of the woods, there aren’t many blacks here, so I see, on a regular basis, “others” clowing. It’s a human trait.

I was on the Metra, which is the step above the city’s public transportation system. I pay too much money ($3.25 one way) to have to hear some tone-deaf fool!

Believe it or not some people just don’t know any better. They have not been taught proper etiquette. In fact you can rest assured that there are people on this very blog entry judging this woman who have not taught their children. They assume kids should know certain things without realizing that no one knows anything without being taught either directly or through life experience. I think that is how we got here. Many times people just fall short.

Hello All. My manicurist is a young Asian girl, what else is new? Anyhoo, she’ll be doing my nails and speaking in Asian so lo that I can hardly hear her but her boss in the other room can. I asked her how they do it and she said that her mother taught her that women should be of a quiet nature, no loud fussing, hollering, yelling, cussing, disrespecting, and men will have more respect for you, as well as others. Black folks seem have so many unnecessary issues to resolve but as a black woman, I can relate to being loud, on occassion, especially when I get toghether with my sisters. I guess I feel that I need to be hear over everyone else. (Some things we suffer from can be traced back to slavery and Jim-Crow.) That is all. Love u family!

Being “ghetto”, loud, inarticulate, rude, full of attitude and acting downright coonish is considered cool these days and pretty much the norm. My question is the same as others here: Why in the world did this make the news?

JAY I am going to need for you to get out more and broaden your circle of people because if you dont (this goes to everyone and every race) you will end up only experiencing stereotypes. Thus leading into a closed mind which will then result in a lack of great experiences. No shade just an observation. By the way I dont eat junk food and snack on veggies and fruits so that apply here.

I can relate. When i was a child we ate chicken with our hands all of the time. When my mom took my brother and I to a fancy charity banquet she was mortified when we picked up the fried chicken they served with our hands. She had taught us table manners but not to cut the chicken with knives when out in public. She just assumed we knew. we were 10 and 9 how were we to know. That’s why parent need to cover basic manner when kids are little. You know like how to set a table, where to place you napkin. Even what to say or do when somebody is rude or disrespectful to you without resorting to fights…if you don’t know what to do yourself as an adult then buy a book then teach your kids.
I sat next to a “LaKeysha type” when I went to see “jumping the broom”. Hate to say it but she was African American, VERY overweight and LOUD. First she answered her cell phone and has a 45 second conversation. Then she talked loudly to the lady who came to the movie with her. Rude, loud, obnoxious and selfish! People like that should just wait until the movie come out on DVD and watch it at home with people who tolerate them!
Why hasn’t a video of the “loud” woman, in action, been released? There either must be more to the story, or there is a portion of fabrication in the original story.
Stereotypes usually come from truth. There are a lot of things that we do which are typical to our community, just as there are things white, asian, latino people do that is typical to them.
When I just say “Walmart, Prom dress, soccer shoes”, “Lettting dogs kiss them in the mouth” majority of people will know exactly what I am talking about without me having to say who and I have seen it plenty of times to make quite true.
I agree with Sandra the being loud obnoxious is a trade that quite few black women portray, I have seen plenty of it in my lifetime and I have friends that do the same. The chip on their shoulder type stigma holds merit in a lot of case but not all. If you don’t like than just make sure you change it.
The same thing for black dudes, stopping their car in middle of traffic to holla at a chick and don’t care who is behind them. Happened to me on several occasions. One dude in a Benz in the Parking Deck of Fork & Screen is going to stop to holla at a group of chicks, then gets out of the car with the doors open while I and 4 other cars were behind him. So now I act ignorant too, honk at him, and yell at him to get his f**king ass in the car and park his sh!t, but he just looks at me like “Whateva N!gg@”. So I had to get out of the car and tell him if he don’t move his car to let us keep it movin we will have a problem and I was 2 seconds from punching him in the mouth. He waits a few seconds so it didn’t look like he got punked, got in his car and kept it moving. Then as we get to 400 he pulls up beside me and asked me “Why I had to do him like that when he was trying to get the chicks numbers” “I was like WTF? Your doing should not interfere with mine.” This happens often! If you don’t like the stigma then make sure you are not a part of it!
Oops forgot another example maybe a month ago at the movies. The movie was in about 15 minutes and ran into technical difficulties, an entourage of loud big chicks just happened to sit down (they were late). The manager came in and apologized for the mishap so these chicks holla “I know you gonna start the movie from the beginning or I smell some free movie passes!” Really? your ass late already then make some demands. STFU and watch the movie.
