Celebs Out & About: Derrick Rose, Ne-Yo, Sheree, Slimm at Primal
NBA MVP Derrick Rose and his hapless Chicago Bulls suffered a setback to their NBA championship hopes when our Atlanta Hawks breezed to a 100-88 win over the Bulls in game 4 at the Philips Arena yesterday.
The Hawks’ easy win evens the Eastern Conference semifinals series at 2 games apiece. Game 5 is Tuesday night in Chicago.
According to local club promoters Slimm and Mr. Plush of Plush Blue Entertainment, Derrick Rose partied hard with teammates Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer of the Bulls at Primal nightclub on Friday night in Atlanta after the game. They say the affable Derrick made a quick $15,000 for his appearance at Primal.
Singer/songwriter Ne-Yo as well as Sheree of the ‘Real Housewives’ were also in attendance at Primal Friday night.
Derrick was seen knocking back a few in the VIP at the Thursday night party at Gold Room sponsored by AG Entertainment. All that hard partying may have affected his game yesterday. Still, Rose scored 34 points to Atlanta Hawks’ Josh Smith’s 16.
Rose, 22, is the youngest NBA player in the history of the NBA to win the MVP award. He also scored a career high 44 points in game 3 against the Hawks the same night of the party.

@CFREE: I went to the Auburn Festival on Saturday. Girl, it was like crackheads gone wild. They were out there dancing for change. You couldn’t tell them they weren’t doing it!! My cousin has one on camera bellydancing….

@stella: Truth be told, the Hawks made it farther than I thought which surprised me. We generally tank in the first round. Will the Hawks beat the Bulls? Probably not but we’ll still cheer them on win or lose….
Mr. Rose could get it… I love the Bulls, him and Noah…. Hawks are cool cause they are the home team, at this point whoever can beat the Heat gets my vote.

@yvonne I cannot cheer for them because I am from Chicago. I grew up in the Jordan era so it’s in my DNA to love all things Chicago. What I dislike about the Hawks is the way they play during the season. Show some heart during the season, and I may have some respect for the team.
Rose does not look like he is 22. When he hubby told me how old he was, I thought it was a joke. He look at least 30.

To be honest with you, I loved the Bulls back then too! Back then, I lived and breathed basketball. From the Celtics to the Knicks to Orlando, there wasn’t a game I wouldn’t watch. After all the players I grew up on started retiring and new faces started appearing to the point I couldn’t keep up, I stopped following the game. It wasn’t until the last year or so (maybe the free Hawks tickets did it for me) I started getting back into it. What can I say? I’m easily convinced…
Man I’m tryin soooooo hard to be nice today but I WILL NOT stand for that blasphemy against KD!

@yvonne lol, you got a hook up too on the tickets? I cheer for Atlanta teams until they play Chicago. I went to a Falcons game years ago and they were playing the Bears. I wore a Falcons T-shirt and I had no clue they were playing the Bears (last minute plans and shirt was given to me the day of). It was sooo ackward! By the end of the game I was cheering with the Bears fans. From that moment on I decided to stay true to my hometown no matter what! Lol!
