“Dancing with the Stars” winners Hines Ward and Kym Johnson danced on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in Times Square this morning. The former NFL player and his partner beat out Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy in the ‘DWTS’ final yesterday. Congrats to them!
Reality TV star and media personality La La Anthony was spotted while filming scenes from her reality show in Beverly Hills yesterday. That weight loss looks good on her!

Is Obama in the Beginning Stages of Alzheimer’s?
Remember when everyone thought Senator John McCain was getting senile during the 2008 presidential race? Statements such as “John McCain isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer” resulted in millions of nervous Americans casting their votes for his opponent, Senator Barack Obama.
But shortly after Obama’s historic landslide election in 2008, clues began to emerge that he wasn’t the brightest bulb in the pack either.
For instance, while giving a speech in London, England in 2009, Mr. Obama forgot where he met his wife, Michelle Obama.
Coincidentally, the most recent sign of a disturbing lapse in Mr. Obama’s memory occurred in London again. This time, Mr. Obama forgot what year it was when he signed a guestbook in the nave of Westminster Abbey yesterday.
According to London’s Daily Mail: instead of signing ’2011′ after his name in the guestbook, Obama wrote ’24 May 2008′ (it is customary for the British to write the day first followed by the month and year). He got the date wrong by three years when he signed the guestbook – despite apparently asking the dean what day it was.
“DOESN’T OBAMA KNOW WHAT YEAR IT IS?” shouts the embarrassing headlines in the London papers today.
In the first stage of Alzheimer’s, a disease that destroys brain cells, there is no visible impairment. In stage 2, the individual begins to experience memory lapses, forgetting familiar words or locations. In stage 3, there is a noticeable cognitive decline and the person has trouble remembering names and dates. The symptoms develop slowly and get worse over time.
It is believed that former president Ronald Reagan suffered from Alzheimer’s while he was still in office.

Beyoncé Comes Under Fire for Stealing Billboard Performance
Beyoncé is facing a storm of criticism following her performance of “Run The World (Girls)” at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. The singer who has based her career on stealing and copying other people’s work has come under fire for ripping off the work of Italian pop star Lorella Cuccarini.
Bey’s performance involved standing in front of a huge white screen while interacting with giant images projected onto it. But her act was strikingly similar to Cuccarini’s performance last year during which she incorporated the same images and gestures in front of a huge white screen.
Bey’s unspectacular performance caused online social network Twitter.com to explode with tweets raving about her “revolutionary” show. Some Twitter users tweeted they had never seen anything like it before.
But many viewers watching at home were not impressed with Beyoncé’s act — they had seen it all before.
That’s because the same production company that designed the graphics for Cuccarini also designed Beyoncé’s show. Unfortunately, they didn’t bother to come up with any new concepts for Bey.
Media artist and film director Kenzo Digital designed the graphics for the performance and admitted Beyoncé and co. were inspired by Cuccarini, but charges the concept has been around since the ’80s. “[The Cuccarini artists] are awesome and do incredible work as well, but there are a lot of different inspirations for where our piece came from,” Kenzo explained to The Amp. After Beyoncé’s Billboard Awards performance my Inbox was flooded with emails accusing Bey of being a talentless copycat. One reader named Shalon wrote: “You be sooo right about Beyoncé. And I swear people think she is the best thing sense slice bread. I must admit you know your stuff!”
Celebrities in the audience were quick to congratulate Beyoncé on Twitter.
“BEYONCE go awwf! Wow!!! All I can say! BEYONCE a True Entertainer!! U Deserve the Success! Such a Hard Worker!”
And singer Rihanna, who will host the grand opening party for the new Vision nightclub in Atlanta next month, tweeted: “Congrats to Beyonce on a #MAJAH award and tribute.”
It’s sad how the black community continues to be preoccupied with celebrating mediocrity. We have to do better!

Lil Wayne On the Beach With Mystery Woman

I decided to take the advice of a loyal reader and do a side by side comparison of the woman in these pictures and Weezy’s stylist, Marisa.
Although the two women have the same soft brown eyes, the same complexion and the same length of hair, they are clearly not the same person.
So I wonder who she is?
Rapper Lil Wayne was spotted shirtless with a mystery woman in Miami Beach today. Weezy and his young lover strolled hand in hand on the beach enjoying the beautiful Spring weather.
As you may recall, Sandrarose.com posted the Exclusive pics of Lil Wayne hugged up with his stylist at Compound nightclub in April. But Wayne vehemently denied the rumors that they were dating.
“This is my stylist Marisa…” Wayne said in an interview with DJ Scoob Doo. “This is the reason why I’m flyer than all you ni**as… y’all owe my girl an apology, man.”
At the time, Lil Wayne was doggedly pursuing 18-year-old Notre Dame point guard Skylar Diggins.

Medical Minute: Depression
Clinical depression occurs when an individual is unable to cope with their feelings of overwhelming sadness, hopelessness and despair. They often rely on suicidal ideations as a crutch to help them cope with depression. Once they make the decision to commit suicide, they will give the outward appearance of being happy and at peace. By that time it is too late to save them.
There are some in the black community who don’t believe that depression is a serious mental illness. According to Mental Health America, African Americans are particularly at risk for clinical depression, but we are the least likely to seek therapy due to the stigma and myths surrounding the disease.
If your child mentions that he or she is depressed — even once — this is a bad sign. They probably summoned all the courage they had in them to approach you. It may be the only time they will come to you with their problem before attempting suicide.
Your response is crucial. Do not dismiss your child with bad advice such as “Get over it” or “We all get the blues, it’ll pass.” It won’t pass.
Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. For that reason, depression sufferers can’t just “get over it” without intervention such as medication (anti-depressants) and therapy.
As black people, we must reject the belief that depression is a sign of weakness, or the lack of Jesus in our lives.
If you are unable to support your child emotionally due to your unfounded beliefs about clinical depression, please call a friend, or a crisis intervention group to support and provide the mental health resources that he needs.
There should be more of an emphasis on clinical depression today due to the high profile cases of gay teen suicides in the news. But sadly there isn’t.
It’s a shame that the national media continues to provide a disservice to their audience by claiming gay teens kill themselves because they were bullied or outed. In reality, gay teens kill themselves because they suffer from undiagnosed depression.

Whether you love or hate Lady Gaga, you can’t deny her influence in today’s popular culture. She is the reigning #1 pop star in the world at least until Ciara scores that #1 hit song that’s been eluding her since, like, forever. Gaga displayed her goodies in New York City last night as she got into her limo outside her hotel. Earlier in the day she appeared on the ‘Dave Letterman Show’. Fans seeking to download Gaga’s current album, Born This Way, for just .99 cents overwhelmed Amazon’s robust servers on Monday. The lucky thousands who were able to download the mp3 could also register for 20 gigs of free cloud storage that came with the album.
