Trina and Keyshia Cole Vent Their Frustrations at BET
The BET nominations were announced last night. Troubled singer Chris Brown leads all nominees with 6, and comedian Kevin Hart will be handling the hosting duties.
Unfortunately, a few past artists who thought their body of work was still relevant today caught feelings when they found out they weren’t even acknowledged.
Rapper Trina and singer Keyshia Cole took to their Twitter pages in disgust to make their feelings known to the BET network.
In a series of tweets last night and this morning, Keyshia wrote:
That awkward moment when u realize in everyone’s eyes your not the sh*t anymore. #POW. I’ve officially got the memo. Thank mtv/bet… These types of thing R the way they R. I’m not upset about any of it in any way. I hope everyone that goes has a wonderful time… N while we’re addressing everything, Lil Kim and I a r not “friends” I take that term very seriously. We made wonderful music. That is it.
She wrote a little more, but you get the gist of it.

Trina put out a mixtape and a couple singles in the last twelve months so I’m cool with that but what has Symophony ever done(I thought she had a show on Nickelodeon), has Lola ever had a single or a feature. Sidenote, both Trina and Lil Kim stay in a pic with Bryant McKinnie and he has a label so why won’t he put their albums out?

I really don’t blame Trina. Female rappers really get no play. If Diamond and Cymbals were nominated for rapping why can’t she. There are a handful of female rappers that people know of because they’re not played on the radio. Most of the female rappers like Lyric, Rasheeda (Boss Bitch), Jean Grae, Jackie O, Kid Sister, even Gangsta Boo constantly make mix tapes. But if you don’t look for them u won’t find them, because their mouths are too raunchy. As far Keyshia, I let her go, when she put out Let it go.

I haven’t watched Black Exploitation Television in years. They’re so repulsive. Anyway, this is pretty pathetic even for them. They are really going out of there way to suck Chris off. Best Actor for Takers? lmao he had like 5 lines. BET is not a serious award show. I have such low expectations for them its impossible to be disappointed.
Trina has consistently been nominated for BET’s female rap category. Most of the years she was nominated she didn’t even have music out. They’ve always been grasping for straws in this category because there was never more than 1 or 2 (on a good year) women rappers out. Missy won that damn category like 5 times! I still don’t understand WHY Monica wasn’t nominated last year…. And then they didn’t even give her a full performance slot she had one of those..( what did Jagged Edge call it that one time?) you’ve got a hot single slot! Kevin Hart is only funny when he can tell a story. Most of his tweets aren’t funny at all. If not done correctly it could be disastrous!
