Did Ciara Suffer a Lacefront Malfunction?

I’m wearing my first ever weave now and I’ve had to let people feel my tracks to let them know it’s not mine. And the only time the parts looks unnatural is of folks get “invisible” parts (where they clue two tracks together to make a seamless part) or when they don’t have leave-out at the top to do their own parts or they don’t invest in a closure.

Most woman with weaves I see now hair IS natural. For instance- me and my 3 friends who all got weaves for the 1st time last month are completely natural and been so for years. However, we all don’t like heat damaging our hair. And every Summer when the temps go up, the humidity goes up and when we have special occasions for when we want our hair styled, the humidity wreaks havoc. So what do you do: walk around with a puff ball (which sometimes can look a mess); or flat-iron/bow-dry your hair into a style several times a week (which will eventually cause your hair to dry out, break off and fall out.)

The weaves let us not have to do neither. I usually blow-dry/press my hair once every 4-6 weeks, so the other 3-5 weeks, if my hair is a mess, it just is because I refuse to use heat on it. With this weave- I can press the hair 100x and if it starts breaking off, I won’t give a damn because it’s NOT my hair. Natural hair is sensitive, so for most natural chicks with weaves, the weaves are a “protective” style, not just we don’t want to wear our own hair.

Sorry for the rant.

LMAO! It’s exactly 2.75 inches from my waist (as of my last measurement in May). But I needed to do a protective style this year to keep my hair from suffering a setback like I did last Summer. (Plus I also hate combing my own hair….I only do it once every 7-10 days.)

This is my first one, but I LOVE IT!! Candi (who’s hair is also super long and natural) was talking about getting one too. I sent her pics after the girl did mines for a recommendation. You know a hairstyle + natural hair + humidity =

Take the leap! Best thing I ever did! And no, never had a Phyto relaxer when I was getting relaxers. Also- be careful with the Dominican blow-outs. That REALLY is too much heat especially on relaxed hair. It does look and feel good afterwards, but if you get them often, most times, it’ll start breaking your hair off.

I got a blow-out twice and my hair paid the price for it after the 1st week of looking “luscious.”

Thanks!! I love it! I’ve been getting compliments on it every where I go since the hour I got it put in! Folks are like: “your hair is soooo gorgeous!”

I be feeling bad when I have to tell them “its not all mine.” I don’t know. I feel guilty when someone compliments it and I don’t let them know it ain’t really mine. I feel like I’m lying to myself.

Both are very good. Depends on how deep of a curl pattern you want. I bought one pack from both companies (and they blended really well). What I will say that I noticed:

-OnycHair sometimes has greys in it. You can pick them out and it’s fine, but it kinda annoyed me that I had to pick a few out.

-OnycHair sometimes tangles a bit if you dont deep condition it well and you let it dry out.

-Wagmans curl pattern isn’t as deep as Onyc’s, but this is fine because my natural hair where I put it has a looser pattern as well.

-Wagman’s tends to have a silkier feel to the hair. So if your looking for hair that is more coarse/textured (ie- I needed frizzy hair to match my own frizzy hair and have a slight “kink-curly” texture to it), then Wagman’s hair will probably be too silky.

Both companies get great reviews though and if you seal the wefts, both hairs barely shed, tangle, matt or knot (unless you dont moisturize it for a week like I did. )

I use Aleene’s “Stop Fraying” (bought from JoAnne Fabrics) but “Hair Extensions 101” (it’s a website) supposedly sells a weft sealer that’s just a good and has a faster drying time.

You basically apply a line of the sealer along the beard of the weft (the track line at the top) on both sides and let it dry before washing or installing the hair. This cuts down on the hair shedding and breaking from the tracks trememndously.

However- the best hair for Black hair would be from ExtensionsPlus.com (all of the celebs get their hair from there.) Their hair is guaranteed to not shed, matt, or knot without sealing. But EP is EXTREMELY expensive. REALLY expensive. But you can reuse their hair for like 2 years. I’d have bought their hair but they didnt offer any curly enough textures. Check them out as well.
