Tupac Amaru Shakur Would Have Been 40 Today
Tupac Amaru Shakur was born Lesane Parish Crooks in East Harlem on June 16, 1971. He died on September 13, 1996 in a Las Vegas hospital after undergoing surgery for multiple gunshot wounds. Tupac would have been 40 today.
Yesterday, a convicted murderer serving life in prison claimed he shot Tupac in an earlier robbery in New York in 1994.
According to AllHipHop.com, Dexter Isaacs claims he was hired by industry veteran Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond to rob and kill Tupac.
Supposedly Henchman gave Isaac $2,500 to do the job. By coincidence, Isaacs was convicted of killing a Brooklyn taxi driver in a murder-for-hire plot that was arranged by the taxi driver’s wife.
Rosemond, who once managed rappers The Game, Shyne and Too $hort, is on the lam from the law in NY where he’s wanted on federal narcotics charges.
Isaac is hinting that he may implicate Sean “Puffy” Combs in Tupac’s shooting and robbery as well. Although Isaac claims to have evidence in the form of a gold chain that he snatched from Tupac during the robbery, he has yet to produce that chain.
Within hours of Isaac’s statement, an NYPD spokesman said, “NYPD detectives plan to interview the prisoner.”
“It’s a flat out lie,” Rosemond’s lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman told the Daily News.
“Dexter Isaac is not claiming this 17 years later to clear his conscience. He’s doing it because he’s told anybody who will listen he doesn’t want to die in prison. He has kids and wants to work off his sentence. He can’t be trusted.”
Super Bowl XLII Hero Comes Out Against Gay Marriage
David Tyree is best known for his spectacular helmet catch that secured the NY Giants victory in Super Bowl XLII. But according to TMZ.com, the ex-Giants receiver, and devout Christian, is coming out against same sex marriage by claiming gay marriage is akin to “anarchy” and threatens the survival of the human species.
Tyree, 31, who is married with four children, including a set of twins, said, “You can’t teach something that you don’t have … so two men will never be able to show a woman how to be a woman.”
“How can marriage be marriage for thousands of years and now all the sudden because a minority, an influential minority, has a push or agenda … and totally reshapes something that was not founded in our country.”
Tyree made the statements during an interview earlier today with the National Organization for Marriage — a faith-based anti-gay marriage group.
During the interview, Tyree is asked about the push to legalize gay marriage in the United States — and says if it happens, “This will be the beginning of our country sliding toward … it’s a strong word, but anarchy.”
TMZ reminded their readers that Tyree’s statements comes “almost 44 years to the day after interracial marriage was legalized in the United States … thanks, in part, to the agenda of an influential minority.”

Mavs Deshawn Stevenson Arrested for Public Intoxication
Scroll down for updates…
How embarrassing for the 2011 NBA champs. You know how the old saying goes: you can take the NBA player out of the hood, but you can’t take the hood out of the player.
According to online reports, Dallas Mavericks player Deshawn Stevenson was posterized by the Dallas police department.
He was arrested and charged with public drunkenness yesterday in Dallas.
Not many people outside of Dallas even know who this guy is, so Stevenson made a little name for himself by creating a t-shirt mocking LeBron James of the Miami Heat. The t-shirt read: “HEY LEBRON! HOW’S MY DIRK TASTE?” The jab was a play on the name of his Mavs teammate, Dirk Nowinski.
It looks like LeBron gets the last laugh on Deshawn.
Update: Loyal reader DMisses dug up this little gem about Stevenson getting arrested for statutory rape. Wow, he sounds like a real class act.
Utah Jazz rookie DeShawn Stevenson has been charged with statutory rape for having sex with a 14-year-old girl, a prosecutor said today. Stevenson, a guard who went from high school directly to the NBA last year, was charged last week in Fresno Superior Court, chief deputy district attorney Liz Mitchell said.
The 20-year-old Stevenson, a Fresno native, faces up to three years in state prison if convicted. His whereabouts today were not immediately known. Stevenson is accused of having sex with the girl during a visit to Fresno in the past six weeks, Mitchell said. She didn’t have any other details.
“I didn’t even know he played basketball,” Mitchell said. “I have no idea what he was doing in Fresno.”
This is the second time Stevenson has run into legal troubles since he was drafted in the first round by Utah last year, the 23rd pick overall.
So if that was the second time he got into trouble I wonder what was the first?

2 Men Held in Plot to Murder Singer Joss Stone
Two men are being held in a U.K. jail for attempting to murder singer Joss Stone. According to online reports, the men were captured in the area of Stone’s country home in Devon on Tuesday. Police found a sword, rope and a body bag n their possession.
So far, police are not ID’ing the two men, whose ages were 30 and 33. But authorities say the pair had the weapons inside their car along with blueprints mapping out Stone’s home and aerial views of the property.
Neighbors tipped off police after seeing the two men driving slowly and suspiciously around the village’s roads in a red Fiat Punto. Cops originally arrested them for possession of offensive weapons, but after questioning them further the charges were upgraded to conspiracy to rob and murder the singer. Source
Industry insiders believe Stone was targeted because she’s “heavy into the drug scene over there.”
In 2007, producer Dallas Austin accused Stone and other female pop singers of f*cking for tracks. In a shocking video produced by Dallas’ own Rowdy Records, he said, “f*ck all them bitches f*cking for tracks.”
